The Minnesota Vikings have signed free-agent WR Hank Baskett (Eagles), reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: To avoid further aggravation to his hamstring the Eagles may decide to shelve Jackson for this week's preseason game. |

Colts | Garcon likely to start on Monday night Sat Sep 19, 06:49 PM
IndyFootballReport.com is reporting Pierre Garcon likely will get his first NFL start Monday. That's Indianapolis Colts three-time Pro Bowl WR Reggie Wayne's impression, at least, and if Garcon -- a second-year receiver from Mount Union -- indeed does start in his return to his native South Florida, Wayne said he is confident the younger player will perform well. Wayne said he feels the same about rookie WR Austin Collie, who likely will play an extensive role as a slot receiver for a second consecutive week. "You what's funny? Since I've been here, this might be the best group as far as taking notes in the meetings," Wayne said Saturday as the AFC South-leading Colts (1-0) prepared to play the Miami Dolphins (0-1) at Land Shark Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., Monday at 8:30 p.m. "If you look at them, when they're writing in their notebooks, they're in the back of their notebooks. That means all the pages in the front are used. The guys are really focused, taking notes."
Footballguys view: Garcon is very explosive and has good run after the catch ability. Collie is the sure handed rookie from BYU, and could do some damage from the slot position. We expect to see Wayne used the same way he was in week one, with an increase in targets for tight end Dallas Clark. Newly signed veteran receiver Hank Baskett may see some time on the field if the Colts use a 4-wide receiver set. |

Colts | Baskett to sign with team Thu Sep 17, 08:24 AM
Adam Schefter, of ESPN, reports on his Twitter feed that WR Hank Baskett will sign with the Indianapolis Colts.
Footballguys view: Good move for Baskett, who lands on a possible Super Bowl contender, in a pass-happy offense with one of the best QBs in the league. He should get in on some three-wide sets once he learns the offense, and he could even challenge to start if he learns the offense quickly. His style as a big, rangy receiver with good leaping ability gives Peyton Manning a red zone weapon he didn't have in his current group of wideouts. |

NFL | Baskett goes unclaimed Wed Sep 16, 07:38 PM
Adam Schefter, of ESPN, reports on his Twitter feed, that WR Hank Baskett went unclaimed on waivers and can now sign with any team. He writes that Baskett signing with Baltimore "would not surprise" him.
Footballguys view: Teams were avoiding taking on Baskett's 1.545 million dollar salary. Baskett is definitely good enough to be on an NFL roster, and he should get signed very soon. |

NFL | Several teams have shown interest in Baskett Tue Sep 15, 08:08 PM
Aaron Wilson, of the National Football Post, reports several teams contact the Philadelphia Eagles about trading for WR Hank Baskett, who was released Tuesday, Sept. 15. Jets | Not interested in Baskett Tue Sep 15, 04:07 PM
Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports the New York Jets apparently have no interest in signing unrestricted free-agent WR Hank Baskett (Eagles).
Footballguys view: The Jets are happy with Jerricho Cotchery and Chansi Stuckey as starters after their impressive opener, but depth could still be a problem. |

Eagles | Baskett released Tue Sep 15, 02:53 PM
Adam Schefter, from ESPN, reports the Philadelphia Eagles have released WR Hank Baskett.
Footballguys view: They had to make room for Michael Vick on the active roster, and decided to release the big veteran receiver. Keeping a player like Reggie Brown over Baskett is not a good sign, but we still like Baskett better. A team looking for a tall, big-play receiver could sign Baskett. The Ravens and Rams would be wise to take a long look at this guy. |

Eagles | Have been shopping R. Brown, Baskett Tue Sep 15, 10:41 AM
Sal Paolantonio, of ESPN, reports the Philadelphia Eagles tried to trade WRs Reggie Brown and Hank Baskett in the last week and a half, but were unsuccessful.
Footballguys view: The Eagles haven't been successful in shopping players recently. They were rumored to be shopping quarterback A.J. Feeley, but ended up having to cut him. Feeley is now in Carolina, and perhaps teams are just waiting for the Eagles to release one of the two wideouts before making a move. Hank Baskett would be the most coveted receiver out of the two because of his high upside, size, and big play ability. |

Eagles | Ravens, Jets eyeing Philly wide receivers Wed Aug 26, 02:55 PM
Paul Domowitch, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports that at least two teams - the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Jets - are keeping a close eye on the Eagles wide receiver situation.
Footballguys view: The Eagles have at least six NFL quality wide receivers in DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Kevin Curtis, Reggie Brown, Jason Avant, and Hank Baskett. Any of the last three on that list could get traded in the next few weeks as teams start to prepare their final rosters. |

Eagles | Could trade one of their WRs? Sun Aug 2, 09:33 PM
Adam Schefter, from ESPN, reports on his twitter feed - Eagles so loaded at WR, don't be surprised to see them trade one later this summer.
Footballguys view: The injury bug needs to stay away from the receiving corps, but Schefter points out that not only does the team have depth - but talent behind their starters. Jeremy Maclin also needs to sign with the team before they would even consider trading one of their wideouts. Reggie Brown, Jason Avant, and Hank Baskett could all be candidates to be traded. |
