Indianapolis Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox (concussion) has cleared the concussion protocol and now carries no designation in Week 6, the team revealed on Saturday, Oct. 14.

Footballguys view: That's going to help the Colts offense on Sunday against the Jaguars. Alie-Cox will provide QB Gardner Minshew with a big-bodied target to help move the chains. From a fantasy perspective, you likely have better options.

Colts | Mo Alie-Cox returns to practice    Fri Nov 11, 11:30 AM

Indianapolis Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox (ankle) returned to practice Friday, Nov. 11, after missing the first two days of practice this week.

Footballguys view: Fantasy GMs should not be trusting Colts' players outside of RB Jonathan Taylor and WR Michael Pittman the rest of the way in the 2022 season. Right now with interim head coach Jeff Saturday, there's too much of an unknown with everyone outside of their proven players. Even with Taylor and Pittman, there are plenty of question marks. Starting QB Sam Ehilinger (for the time being) doesn't help either.

Colts | Indianapolis' season ends in defeat    Sun Jan 9, 05:21 PM

Indianapolis Colts QB Carson Wentz went 17-for-29 for 185 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18 and also rushed for 17 yards on three carries. RB Jonathan Taylor rushed for 77 yards on 15 carries and caught three passes for 18 yards. WR Michael Pittman Jr. caught six passes for 64 yards and one touchdown on seven targets. WR T.Y. Hilton caught two passes for 39 yards on five targets, while TE Mo Alie-Cox caught two passes for 27 yards on three targets.

Footballguys view: Wentz was a mess for most of this game and never gave his team a chance to go to the playoffs in the most shocking last week of the season result in recent memory. The Colts gave up their first round pick (and more) for Wentz and have little to show for it other than a lot of guaranteed money going Wentz's way next season. Taylor was a non-factor in a blow to his dark horse MVP campaign.

Colts | Mo Alie-Cox under contract    Mon May 3, 01:06 PM

Indianapolis Colts restricted free-agent TE Mo Alie-Cox signed his one-year tender offer Monday, May 3. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Alie-Cox stays with the Colts as a restricted free agent and we'll see if his role grows this upcoming season. His 38 targets in 2020 were the most of his career and he could get a similar amount of passes thrown his way this season. With Jack Doyle ahead of him on the depth chart it seems like Alie-Cox is going to be in a TEBC once again.

Colts | Mo Alie-Cox in good company    Fri Jan 22, 10:02 PM

Indianapolis Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox was one of five tight ends to average at least 2.0 yards per route on 150-plus routes during the 2020 season, joining Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce, Las Vegas Raiders TE Darren Waller, San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle and Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews.

Footballguys view: There's more there with Alie-Cox if the Colts ever gave him a larger role. For the 2020 season, the Colts used a TEBC featuring Jack Doyle, Trey Burton and Alie-Cox. Burton is set to be an unrestricted free agent, so perhaps Alie-Cox will play more snaps if Burton leaves the Colts. Doyle is signed through the 2022 season. Alie-Cox is a restricted free agent in 2021.
