Atlanta Falcons TE Eric Saubert was traded the New England Patriots Monday, Aug. 12, in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick.

Atlanta Falcons TE Eric Saubert was acquired by the New England Patriots Monday, Aug. 12, in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick.
| Footballguys view: The Patriots get an interesting and athletic player here to add to the tight end room. Saubert is a move tight end who can make difficult catches over the middle or near the sidelines. The Falcons rarely used him and when he was on the field, Saubert was mostly a blocker. Matt LaCosse should be the starter for the Patriots to open the season and Saubert will compete to make it as an end-of-the-bench guy. In crazy deep dynasty formats we'll continue to watch Saubert. |

He's a talented move tight end with good hands, concentration and body control. His blocking ability is a work in progress, so he'll be working for snaps/targets behind Austin Hooper in 2018. |
