Quinn is coming off a breakout, Defensive Player of the Year-type campaign in which he set new personal marks in sacks and FFs, with 19-7, finishing second in the NFL in both stats, behind only Colts OLB Robert Mathis. He also set a career high with 50 solo tackles, third in the league at his position, behind only J.J. Watt and Lamarr Houston, and made All Pro for the first time at just 23 years old. Bookended by Chris Long, one of the better pass rushing strong side DEs in the game, and with the Rams DT position group bolstered by the addition of #13 overall DT Aaron Donald generating inside pressure (arguably one of the best interior defensive line pass rushing prospects in the past decade, with Ndamukong Suh), the former #14 overall pick in the 2011 draft is positioned to take his game to another level and mount a serious assault on Michael Strahan's 2001 season record of 22.5 sacks, which has stood for a dozen years. A scary prospect for opponents is that an infusion of offensive talent in the form of #2 overall LT Greg Robinson (who is expected to be deployed in 2014 as a massive road grading guard) and third round Auburn teammate and school record breaking RB Tre Mason, could help flip the game script, boost scoring, get more leads and create more obvious passing situations late in games, which would enable Quinn to pin his ears back even more than in his first three seasons.
