The Cincinnati Bengals waived DT Luke Black, RB Aaron Brown, QB Tyler Hansen and OG Matt Murphy Friday, Aug. 24. The Bengals also placed CB Brandon Ghee (wrist), CB Shaun Prater (knee), WR/CB Taveon Rodgers (shoulder), S Robert Sands (chest) and G Travelle Wharton (knee) on Injured Reserve.

Cincinnati Bengals FS George Iloka is considered a dark horse candidate to win the starting strong safety job, although his play against the run is the biggest concern. FS Robert Sands needs to be more consistent if he is to make the roster, as he struggled during offseason workouts. The undrafted rookie SS Tony Dye was solid in coverage, and strong in run support during the offseason program.
