Jaguars | Thomas Rawls signs with Jaguars    Wed Jan 9, 10:52 AM

Free-agent RB Thomas Rawls (Bengals) signed an undisclosed deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars Wednesday, Jan. 9.

Footballguys view: Rawls has not been the same since his rookie season with the Seahawks back in 2015. He spent a few weeks with the Bengals in 2018 but didn't register a carry for them. Now, Rawls gets to try and impress with the Jaguars. We'll see if he can do enough to get a reserve spot on the 53-man roster but he is facing long odds.

Jaguars | Jacksonville hosts Thomas Rawls    Sat Oct 13, 02:03 AM

Free-agent RB Thomas Rawls (Bengals) took part in a tryout for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday, Oct. 12.

Footballguys view: The Jaguars are just updating their emergency list here. They added Jamaal Charles and David Williams about a week ago. Jacksonville is looking for running back help because Leonard Fournette (hamstring) is banged up and Corey Grant (foot) is out for the year. T.J. Yeldon leads the way on the ground until Fournette comes back.

Bengals | Thomas Rawls shown door    Tue Oct 9, 04:14 PM

Cincinnati Bengals RB Thomas Rawls was waived Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Footballguys view: The Bengals just picked up Rawls a few weeks ago. Even with Gio Bernard banged up, the team can lean on Joe Mixon as the starter and rookie Mark Walton as his primary backup. Rawls has been with two teams since training camp and may not have that many teams interested in his services now that he's back on the open market.

The Cincinnati Bengals have declared OT Cedric Ogbuehi, DL Adolphus Washington, RB Thomas Rawls, WR Auden Tate, TE Mason Schreck, C Billy Price and RB Joe Mixon inactive for Week 4.

Footballguys view: Giovani Bernard gets another start today against a Falcons defense that has a lot of trouble with pass catching running backs.

Free-agent RB Thomas Rawls (Jets) signed an undisclosed deal with the Cincinnati Bengals Wednesday, Sept. 19. RB Tra Carson was waived.

Footballguys view: Rawls comes in to give the team veteran depth as a no3 running back while Joe Mixon (knee) misses time. Gio Bernard will start for the Bengals while Mixon is out and rookie Mark Walton should be his primary backup.

Jets | Thomas Rawls shown the door    Sat Sep 1, 01:36 PM

New York Jets RB Thomas Rawls was released Saturday, Sept. 1, according to a source.

Footballguys view: The Jets have all the running back help they need without Rawls. They'll move forward with Isaiah Crowell and Bilal Powell working in a RBBC.

Jets | Thomas Rawls a long shot    Fri Jul 13, 10:43 AM

Updating a previous report, New York Jets RB Thomas Rawls has the tallest odds to make the club out of the five running backs, in the opinion of NJ Advance Media's Darryl Slater.

Footballguys view: Rawls was once the toast of the town as a rookie in Seattle, but a gnarly ankle injury and longer than expected recovery has stalled his development. He still is turning 25 in August and still has a chance to catch on during the season when injuries thin backfields, but Rawls' relevance is slipping and he's not worth a roster spot except in the deepest of dynasty leagues.

Jets | Thomas Rawls' roster status in question    Sun Jul 1, 03:41 PM

New York Jets RB Thomas Rawls is not a lock to make the final roster, according to Darryl Slater of NJ.com.

Footballguys view: The Jets have a trio of backs they like in free agent pickup Isaiah Crowell, Bilal Powell, and Elijah McGuire, and they also drafted Trenton Cannon in the sixth round. Cannon can return kicks and that means Rawls will have to show he can recapture his rookie form to win a roster spot. He has no guaranteed money on his one year, 705,000 dollar contract.

Jets | NYJ lands Thomas Rawls    Fri Mar 30, 03:20 PM

Free-agent RB Thomas Rawls (Seahawks) signed an undisclosed contract with the New York Jets on Friday, March 30.

Footballguys view: The Jets added Isaiah Crowell to the roster earlier this year in free agency. He'll split time with Bilal Powell while Rawls is just competing for a spot on the roster as veteran depth. Injuries and inconsistencies have plagued Rawls over the last two years.

Jets | Thomas Rawls to meet with Jets    Wed Mar 28, 06:28 PM

Free-agent RB Thomas Rawls (Seahawks) is scheduled to meet with the New York Jets Friday, March 28, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Rawls has only made a couple of visits as a free agent, the Chiefs and the Jets. Injuries have derailed his pro career, and if the Jets signed him it would be a full running back room. The Jets added Isaiah Crowell in free agency already, and he's in line to split time with Bilal Powell and Eli McGuire.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls not tendered    Wed Mar 14, 05:08 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls was not tendered or did not receive a qualifying offer on Wednesday, March 14, so he is now an unrestricted free agent.

Footballguys view: It's been all downhill for Rawls after his 830 yard rookie season in 2015. He broke his ankle near the end of that year and has never really returned to form. We don't see a huge market for his services.

The Seattle Seahawks have declared WR David Moore, DL Garrison Smith, C Joey Hunt, LB K.J. Wright, CB Mike Tyson, DT Nazair Jones, RB Thomas Rawls inactive for Week 15.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls saw 46 percent of snaps    Fri Nov 10, 10:39 AM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls played 29 snaps (46 percent of the offense) Thursday, Nov. 9, against the Arizona Cardinals.

Footballguys view: Rawls got most of his yards on one run. Left tackle Duane Brown's injury has dampened any enthusiasm about the Seahawks run game. He's not an essential hold in Week 11 waiver wire runs.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy unlikely to play    Tue Nov 7, 07:20 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy (groin) is not expected to play in Week 10 due to his groin injury. RB Thomas Rawls will start in his place.

Footballguys view: The Seahawks play on Thursday night against the Cardinals. This move was expected as Lacy wasn't even able to finish the game in Week 9. He logged 11 snaps against Washington before injuring his groin. Rawls is a consideration as a flex play for fantasy owners.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls next in line to start?    Mon Oct 2, 01:41 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls was a healthy scratch in Week 4, but head coach Pete Carroll seemed to suggest he would get the nod over Eddie Lacy in the wake of Chris Carson's 'significant' leg injury.

Footballguys view: That's the way it seems, and fantasy owners that can choose between the two could go with Rawls. The two have a combined 10 carries for seven yards in 2017, but there could be enough volume here to be flex worthy if you need RB help from the waiver wire.

The Seattle Seahawks have declared RB C.J. Prosise, OT Isaiah Battle, OG Jordan Roos, OG Mark Glowinski, CB Neiko Thorpe, S Tedric Thompson, RB Thomas Rawls inactive for Week 4.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls practices Wednesday    Wed Sep 13, 07:43 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Footballguys view: Looks like Rawls is going to play this week. We're not over the moon about him against the 49ers and are waiting to see if Chris Carson ends up emerging in that backfield. Rawls is a RB4 in PPR leagues in Week 2.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls expected to play    Mon Sep 11, 09:16 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) is expected to play in the team's Week 2 game, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Footballguys view: Seattle's rushing attack was not successful against the Packers in Week 1. Eddie Lacy isn't doing anything to impress, and it was actually QB Russell Wilson who led the team in rushing at Lambeau. This situation is a bit of a mess, and even messier with the return of Rawls. We look at him as a RB3 for fantasy owners.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls questionable for Week 1    Fri Sep 8, 05:00 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) practiced in full on Friday, Sept. 8, but is still listed as questionable for Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers.

Footballguys view: Head coach Pete Carroll revealed that Rawls suffered a high ankle sprain previously and he is a game-time decision. They might take it slow with him to avoid any re-injury or setbacks because of their depth at running back. If Rawls is out, Eddie Lacy becomes flexworthy against his old Packers team.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls practices in full    Thu Sep 7, 08:52 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) was listed as a full participant in practice Thursday, Sept. 7.

Footballguys view: The team said Rawls had a high ankle sprain, but he looks ready to go for Sunday against the Packers. He is part of a three (or even four) man committee at running back that will be difficult to predict week-to-week as long as they are all healthy.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls is a full participant    Wed Sep 6, 07:51 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) was listed as a full participant for practice on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls may not play    Wed Sep 6, 04:05 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) is questionable to play in Week 1 with a high-ankle sprain.

Footballguys view: If Rawls doesn't play it means Eddie Lacy will start for Seattle. On the road against the Packers, both Lacy or Rawls (if he plays) are only RB3 considerations this week for fantasy owners.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls' Week 1 status uncertain    Wed Sep 6, 12:42 AM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) is dealing with an ankle injury, and his status for Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers will be determined later in the week, according to the team's official website.

Footballguys view: Rawls is the starter over Eddie Lacy, but there's no guarantee he'll be out there for the season opener. Have other options at the ready in case you were planning on having Rawls out there as a RB3/flex option in Week 1. Lacy would fill in if Rawls is out, and he's just a flex option...and not an exciting one at that.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls officially starting    Tue Sep 5, 05:52 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls is listed as the No. 1 running back on the Seahawks' depth chart. RB Eddie Lacy is listed as the backup, followed by RB C.J. Prosise.

Footballguys view: Rawls is not guaranteed to play in Week 1 as he's dealing with an ankle injury. He's at the top of the depth chart but we could see Lacy begin the year as the lead back if Rawls isn't healthy. The Seahawks backfield is a bit of a mess for fantasy owners, but we don't mind making rookie Chris Carson a 'lottery ticket' pick late in deep drafts.

Seattle Seahawks RB C.J. Prosise (groin) returned to practice Monday, Aug. 28, while RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) is expected to return to practice Tuesday, Aug. 29, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Footballguys view: Prosise is talented as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. While Rawls competes with Eddie Lacy to be the lead back, Prosise has intriguing upside for PPR fantasy leagues.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls, C.J. Prosise to be inactive    Thu Aug 24, 03:50 PM

Seattle Seahawks RBs Thomas Rawls (ankle) and C.J. Prosise (groin) will both miss Seattle's Week 3 preseason tilt. Head coach Peter Carroll did say that both could play if it were the regular season.

Footballguys view: Eddie Lacy gets another start, but now he isn't just battling Rawls or Prosise. Now he has seventh round rookie Chris Carson to worry about. Carson has put on his 'big boy pants' and been a demon both in practice and games. Owners are still not drafting him, while Lacy is going as the 30th running back. That could change soon, and Carson is at least someone who should be kept in mind as a late round flier. Rawls is still the lead back and Prosise is still the third down back, but Lacy is assured nothing and Rawls is often banged up. Carson could get a shot down the road.

Seahawks | Thomas Rawls to miss preseason game    Thu Aug 17, 03:20 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) will be sidelined for Week 2 of the preseason with a minor ankle ailment. RB Eddie Lacy will start in his place.

Footballguys view: Rawls has been getting the number one back work, so here's a chance for Lacey to show he should be getting more of those reps. Lacey is already going off the board and drafts well before Rawls. Lacey's ADP is 73 overall (29 back taken) while Rawls is being selected as the 131 player overall (46 back selected). That makes this running back battle crucial to watch for anyone thinking of investing in the Seattle backfield.
