Buccaneers | Roster moves    Tue Sep 25, 06:34 PM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free-agent WR Roscoe Parrish (Raiders) Tuesday, Sept. 25, and waived WR Jordan Shipley in a corresponding move.

Footballguys view: Parrish will take over as a return man and depth WR for the Buccaneers. Shipley fumbled on a return in the game against the Cowboys and gets cut two days later. His career hasn't lived up to it's potential after multiple injuries as a pro.

Raiders | Roscoe Parrish agrees to terms    Tue Aug 28, 01:12 AM

The Oakland Raiders agreed to terms with free-agent WR Roscoe Parrish (Chargers) Monday, Aug. 27, according to a league source.

Chargers | Roscoe Parrish released    Mon Aug 27, 04:44 PM

Chargers | Eddie Royal is option underneath    Sat Jun 9, 01:46 AM

The San Diego Chargers had running backs combine for over 100 receptions last season, but head coach Norv Turner feels WR Eddie Royal will cut into that total. 'As much as we push the ball up the field, I'd like to think (Royal) will get a lot of those catches (by running backs) because he becomes an option underneath,' Turner said. WR Roscoe Parrish might also give the team a quick, shifty slot presence which has been absent in recent years.

Footballguys view: Royal has never lived up to the production he had his rookie season (91 catches) for the Broncos. His failure to recognize zone/man coverage means most of his routes are incorrect. If he doesn't fix this problem then he won't be much of an impact player for the Chargers in 2012.

Chargers | Looking to use slot receivers more     Mon May 21, 08:41 AM

The San Diego Chargers offense has not focused on the slot receiver position in years; however, the team added slot WRs Eddie Royal and Roscoe Parrish in hopes of getting more production out of the position.

Footballguys view: Royal could be the key target here. He caught 91 passes as a rookie in 2008 but failed to impress in Denver after that. Royal has a fresh start in San Diego and could be a quality slot receiver behind Robert Meachem and Malcom Floyd.

Chargers | Philip Rivers working on building rapport with new WRs    Sun May 20, 03:37 PM

San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers said he has been working on building a rapport with WRs Robert Meachem, Eddie Royal, Micheal Spurlock and Roscoe Parrish because it will be easier to him to communicate with them and understand their tendencies.

Footballguys view: Rivers believes he and his new WRs can create chemistry at offseason workouts. Losing WR Vincent Jackson in free agency could negatively impact this team if Robert Meachem doesn't work out.

Chargers | Roscoe Parrish added    Tue Apr 3, 07:48 PM

The San Diego Chargers signed free-agent WR Roscoe Parrish (Bills) to a one-year deal Tuesday, April 3. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Parrish will give them veteran depth at the WR position plus he can help out in the return game. He's quite injury prone and is not a lock to make the final roster.

Bills | Roscoe Parrish not expected to return    Wed Feb 8, 03:43 PM

The Buffalo Bills are not expected to re-sign impending free-agent WR Roscoe Parrish this offseason because he has been injury-prone over the last few years.

Footballguys view: David Nelson was a bit of a bust in the slot, so the team may have to look to the draft or free agency to fill Parrish's old role.

There is a distinct possibility Buffalo Bills WR Roscoe Parrish's (ankle) ankle injury could force him to miss the rest of the season. Parrish is scheduled to undergo more tests this week to determine the exact severity of the injury.

Footballguys view: This is part of the reason that David Nelson is a must-add in PPR leagues, and even arguably ahead of Denarius Moore and Eric Decker.

The Buffalo Bills have approached WR Roscoe Parrish about a contract extension, according to a league source. Parrish is in the last year of a deal that averaged $3.3 million per season.

Footballguys view: Head coach Chan Gailey loves Parrish, and sees him as a dangerous slot receiver for the team. Parrish can also help as a quality punt returner so finalizing a new deal shouldn't prove to be difficult.

Bills | Two WRs not expected to play Thursday    Wed Aug 31, 11:38 AM

Buffalo Bills WRs Donald Jones (concussion) and Roscoe Parrish (hamstring) are not expected to play in the final preseason game Thursday, Sept. 1.

Footballguys view: Jones and Parrish are battling with guys like Marcus Easley and David Nelson for positions on the depth chart behind Steve Johnson. We feel Parrish is better as a slot receiver, and is the team's best option at that position.

Buffalo Bills RB Johnny White (head), WRs Roscoe Parrish (hamstring) and Donald Jones (head), TE Shawn Nelson (leg) and LB Chris White (ankle) participated in practice Monday, Aug. 29.

Footballguys view: We like the future upside of White, but right now he's behind Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller on the team's depth chart. He's a no-nonsense north and south runner who regularly wins collisions. White also has better initial burst than some give him credit for.

Bills | Two may be candidates for No. 2 WR job    Fri Aug 12, 05:01 PM

Buffalo Bills WRs Roscoe Parrish and David Nelson could be candidates to win the No. 2 wide receiver job during training camp. Both are usually used as slot receivers but Nelson has the ability to play as an outside receiver as well.

Footballguys view: Marcus Easley is the most physically talented wideout on the roster and he could have the most upside as the #2, leaving either Nelson or Parrish in their natural slot position. We're also interested to see if this results in C.J. Spiller getting more targets.

Bills | Several expected to considered for kick returner job    Thu Jul 15, 04:05 PM

Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson, CB Leodis McKelvin, WR Roscoe Parrish, RB Chad Simpson, RB C.J. Spiller and RB Joique Bell are expected to be candidates for the team's kick returner job during training camp, according to BuffaloBills.com's Tony Jones.

Footballguys view: Spiller is the most dangerous player on this list, and the Bills will find plenty of ways to get the football in his hands. He'll play as a running back, slot receiver, and kick returner this year.   Bills | Parrish wants an increased role    Sat Jun 5, 06:57 PM

CBSSports.com notes that after falling out of favor with last season's head coach Dick Jauron, Bills WR Roscoe Parrish is hoping for an increased role on offense under new coach Chan Gailey. Parrish has seen time with the first team this spring in the slot, where Josh Reed used to line up. He's hoping his small size (5-foot-9, 171) won't limit him to being just a punt returner in 2010 -- he sees himself as a DeSean Jackson-like weapon. "This year I'm just trying to establish myself on offense more because I know I can do it at receiver," Parrish said.

Footballguys view: Parrish is not even close to being the player that DeSean Jackson is. He's failed to live up to expectations during his entire pro career, but could play well with a new mantra this season. The Bills need more weapons on offense, and they should give Parrish a shot to be their slot receiver.
