Week 7: vs Carolina Panthers

All WR vs CAR

FBG says: Neutral matchup. Mitchell Trubisky did just enough to lead the Bears to a win last week as he attempted only 16 passes, completing 50% of them for 113 yards and one touchdown. With 54 rushing attempts by this Bears offense, it is needless to say that the passing attack was a severe afterthought. It was encouraging to see Trubisky without a turnover, but he was not put in many tough situations at all and played very conservatively with the football. Bears receivers continue to have a tough season in this offense that is averaging only 171 passing yards per game--fifth fewest in the NFL. Tight end Zach Miller scored another touchdown this week, but that pass came from running back Tarik Cohen instead of Trubisky. Miller does have back to back touchdowns but has only hauled in five balls for 64 yards in doing so. Tarik Cohen's touchdown pass saved his day from a fantasy perspective last week, as a rush-heavy approach does not bode well based on Cohen's usage primarily in the passing attack. The Panthers secondary has been giving up touchdowns left and right this season as they now have allowed multiple passing touchdowns in each of their last four games. Carson Wentz passed for 222 yards and three touchdowns last week, good for the biggest fantasy outing of any quarterback facing the Panthers this season. While the Panthers are limiting opposing offenses to only 197 passing yards per game (7th in the league), they have allowed 10 passing touchdowns to only one interception. Their pass rush continues to be strong with 20 sacks on the season, but this defense may be without team leader Luke Kuechly as he is still going through the concussion protocol as of early in the week. The Panthers could use some help over the top as they have lacked solid play out of their safeties, and their only decent cornerback has been James Bradberry. Both Daryl Worley on the left and Captain Munnerlyn covering the slot have been highly ineffective this season, Kendal Wright should have a positive matchup since he lines up primarily out of the slot. With no Kuechly, this Panthers defense will have lost a lot--particularly in the pass rush department. However, even with Kuechly in, this is a secondary that can be exploited.
