Week 4: vs Detroit Lions
All WR vs DET
Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. Let's face it - Brian Hoyer had a great fantasy performance against the Cowboys, tossing 30/49 for 317 yards passing, two TDs and zero interceptions with zero sacks taken. It wasn't enough to win the game, but Hoyer did put up solid stats in his first start for Chicago. Tight end Zach Miller was a monster with nine targets for 8/78/2 receiving, followed by Alshon Jeffery (seven for 5/70/0) and Kevin White (14 for 6/62/0). Rookie running back Jordan Howard also got included in Hoyer's circle of trust with six targets for 4/47/0 receiving. Let's put it this way - Hoyer could have looked way worse, just ask Texans' fans.
The Lions' pass defense was destroyed in Green Bay last week, allowing four passing scores to nemesis Aaron Rodgers (15/24 for 201 net yards passing, four TDs and zero interceptions with two sacks for -4 yards generated). The Lions are 16th in the NFL averaging 264.3 net passing yards allowed per game, but they are tied for dead last in the league with 10 passing scores given away to date, vs. a mere one interception generated. Over the first three weeks of the season, Detroit has averaged 28.6 fantasy points allowed per game to opposing quarterbacks (second-most in the NFL); and 25.8 fantasy points per game allowed to wide receivers (11th-most); with 17.2 fantasy points given up per game to tight ends (most in the NFL during that time span).
Zach Miller and the Bears look set up for a big game here - advantage, Chicago.
