Broncos | L. Jordan expected to play Week 6    Fri Oct 16, 09:15 PM

Denver Broncos RB LaMont Jordan (personal) has been away from the team to attend a funeral, but he is expected to play Week 6.

Footballguys view: LaMont Jordan will be the Broncos 4th quarter hammer, and they like to use him to grind out the clock near the end of the game. He could get a few more carries as Correll Buckhalter is eased back into the rotation.

Broncos | Jordan missed practice Thursday    Fri Oct 16, 12:06 PM

Denver Broncos RB LaMont Jordan did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 15, because he was attending a funeral.

Footballguys view: The Broncos like to use Jordan as their 4th quarter hammer, and he should be grinding out the clock for them once again on Monday night. He's not an exciting fantasy option, and as we saw last week - even with Correll Buckhalter out, Jordan's role is pretty much the same from week to week.

Broncos | Buckhalter unable to play this week?    Tue Oct 6, 01:23 PM

Adam Schefter, from ESPN, reports on his twitter feed that he doesn't believe that Correll Buckhalter will be able to go this week as the Broncos face the Patriots.

Footballguys view: No one in the media is closer to the Denver Broncos than Adam Schefter, and when he speaks fantasy owners should listen. We'll monitor Buckhalter's injury this week, but expect a larger role for LaMont Jordan if CBuck can't give it a go.

Broncos | L. Jordan may stick with team    Sat Sep 5, 02:42 PM

Lindsay Jones, of The Denver Post, reports it appears the Denver Broncos are going to keep RB LaMont Jordan on the 53-man roster.

Footballguys view: Former Patriots bias here? Jordan has not been healthy during his time with the Broncos, and did not look as good as Darius Walker when he played in the preseason.

Broncos | Jordan the odd man out?    Thu Sep 3, 11:01 AM

Lindsay Jones, from the Denver Post, reports RB LaMont Jordan was impressive early in training camp but has fallen off the radar in recent weeks. He missed the Chicago game because of an injury. With first-round rookie Knowshon Moreno returning to health and Correll Buckhalter and Peyton Hillis playing well, Jordan could be the odd man out in the backfield.

Footballguys view: Jordan came over with head coach Josh McDaniels from the New England Patriots, and early in training camp it seemed like Jordan was a lock to make the final roster. However, the NFL stands for "Not For Long" and the Broncos could decide to keep a player like Darius Walker, who is leading the team in rushing this preseason, over the veteran Jordan.

Broncos | Could Hillis emerge as starter?    Mon Aug 17, 12:08 PM

CBSSports.com reports Denver Broncos FB Peyton Hillis could wind up as the team's No. 1 running back in Week 1. Hillis has not missed a workout in training camp, while RBs Knowshon Moreno (knee), Correll Buckhalter (undisclosed) and LaMont Jordan (knee) have been sidelined at various points due to injury.

Footballguys view: Hillis could easily be the feature running back for this offense. He's instinctive, runs with great power, has a nose for the end zone, and is a fantastic receiver out of the backfield. He doesn't have elite speed, and isn't quite as quick as Knowshon Moreno, but Hillis runs hard and is determined on every play.

Broncos | Jordan motivated to be the top back in Denver    Sun Aug 2, 04:50 PM

Frank Schwab, from the Colorado Springs Gazette, reports LaMont Jordan said he owed it to Broncos coach Josh McDaniels, who showed faith in him by "bringing me out here and signing me when I was overweight." This is Jordan's ninth training camp, and he said he has never felt this good. For the moment, things are working out just fine. The trim and focused Jordan was Denver's starting tailback when camp opened as Moreno continued his contract holdout.

Footballguys view: Jordan has looked very fit out at Dove Valley, but he hasn't lost any power even though he's shed quite a few pounds. The Broncos are turning their attention to signing Knowshon Moreno, but the rookie is missing valuable time and if Jordan keeps performing like he's been doing then he should hang on to the starting RB job. The team may decide to bring Moreno along slowly if he can't beat out Jordan in August.

Broncos | Jordan, Buckhalter seeing time with first team    Fri Jul 31, 05:15 PM

Frank Schwab, of the Colorado Springs Gazette, reports Denver Broncos RB LaMont Jordan and RB Correll Buckhalter are seeing time with the first-team offense during practice.

Footballguys view: It should be interesting to see how McDaniels rotates the running backs after Knowshon Moreno signs. It is not a given that Moreno will be the unquestioned #1.

Broncos | Jordan took most of first-string reps in the spring    Thu Jun 25, 12:58 PM

Lindsay H. Jones, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos RB LaMont Jordan took most of the first-string carries during spring workouts.

Footballguys view: This makes a lot of sense because Jordan played under Josh McDaniels in New England last year. He's simply keeping the spot warm for rookie Knowshon Moreno, who should overtake the job sometime in training camp. The Broncos will try to be a more run-heavy team than people are expecting, and they will rotate Moreno, Buckhalter, and Jordan to get the type of production they want.

Broncos | Jordan could be short-yardage back    Fri May 1, 01:23 PM

Mike Klis, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos RB LaMont Jordan could be the team's power back on short yardage situations and at the goal line.

Footballguys view: LaMont Jordan felt like he should be the bell cow in this offense before the Broncos drafted Knowshon Moreno. He has familiarity with this offense from last year when he was with the Patriots. That will give him a distinct advantage over other RBs but unless injuries strike the Denver backfield he may only get goalline opportunities.
