2014 Week 6 vs GB (6 / 10 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)

Moreno hit the low end of his recovery from a dislocated elbow, returning four weeks to the day after he was injured at Buffalo in Week 2. While he was clearly slowed and distracted by his brace, Moreno still rotated series with Lamar Miller throughout the first half. Joe Philbin didn't hesitate to send Moreno out on the second drive of the game when the Dolphins recovered a punt block in Green Bay's red zone. Unfortunately, Miami ran up-tempo runs on first and second down from inside the 5 and Moreno couldn't punch it in. Then, they went for it on fourth down and again he was stuffed. It was an unfortunate blow to anyone who started him, as he only had three more touches the entirety of the game and was on the sidelines for most of the second half. Lamar Miller isn't going anywhere, but it shouldn't be a huge worry that Moreno was sat down for the rest of the game. He's coming off a somewhat serious injury, and he had been complaining about the bulky arm brace earlier in the week. Miller was running well at the outset of the second half, and the move to sit down Moreno paid off, with the Dolphins scoring a touchdown on their first three offensive possessions of the second half. Moreno and Miller should form a nice duo going forward, and it's possible they both could have weekly value, but their weekly usage may be inconsistent, frustrating fantasy owners.

Dolphins | Knowshon Moreno out for season (Tue Oct 14, 08:35 AM) - Miami Dolphins RB Knowshon Moreno (knee) was placed on Reserve/Injured with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Moreno only had one carry in the second half of the game Sunday, Oct. 12, but the team didn't offer an explanation that an injury was the cause.

Our View: Well, that takes care of that. Moreno is done for the season, and the Dolphins have to move on with Lamar Miller perhaps getting an even larger workload. Miller has been looking good this year, and most fantasy owners can start him as a RB2 with RB1 upside every week. After multiple knee injuries throughout his career, one has to wonder how much football is left with Moreno. He's set to be a free agent in 2015.

Dolphins | Knowshon Moreno likely limited (Sun Oct 12, 10:51 AM) - Miami Dolphins RB Knowshon Moreno is likely to have eight to 10 carries Sunday, Oct. 12.

Our View: Moreno isn't worth trusting yet in your lineups, and Lamar Miller is still a great RB2/Flex play against the poor Packer run defense. Moreno could be ready to get back in our lineups next week at Chicago if he doesn't have trouble with his bulky ankle brace.

Dolphins | Busy return for Knowshon Moreno? (Sat Oct 11, 10:06 PM) - Miami Dolphins RB Knowshon Moreno (elbow) and RB Lamar Miller will likely split the workload evenly in Week 6, according to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald. Beasley said he believes head coach Joe Philbin prefers a 50-50 split between the backs.

Our View: Miller is still the better play today, with Moreno adjusting to a bulky elbow brace. Both could end up being good against a Packers defense that has trouble stopping the run.

Dolphins | Lamar Miller faces favorable matchup (Fri Oct 10, 11:49 PM) - Miami Dolphins RB Lamar Miller is expected to start in Week 6 against the Green Bay Packers, who rank last in the NFL in rushing defense by allowing 163 yards per game. Miller will have company, as RB Knowshon Moreno (elbow) is expected to make his return.

Our View: Moreno will probably be eased in, so the impact to Miller won't be devastating. we see him as a decent RB2 option this week against the Green Bay Packers.
