NFL | Vincent Jackson retired Fri May 18, 04:06 PM
Free-agent WR Vincent Jackson (Buccaneers) is retired from professional football, according to one of his representatives.
Footballguys view: Jackson had several promising parts of Seasons but never really put it all together. We wish him luck in his post football life. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson hopes to re-up with Bucs Sat Apr 15, 07:06 PM
Free-agent WR Vincent Jackson (Buccaneers) hopes to continue playing in 2017, and he hinted recently he would like to do so with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Footballguys view: Jackson is not the player he used to be, but he could return to the Bucs for the veteran minimum. They added DeSean Jackson in free agency earlier this year to line up opposite Mike Evans on the outside. With Adam Humphries manning the slot, it would be difficult to find a spot on the field for Jackson. |

NFL | Vincent Jackson not retiring Fri Mar 3, 10:18 AM
Free-agent WR Vincent Jackson (Buccaneers) plans to play in 2017, according to a source.
Footballguys view: We can't imagine Jackson getting much interest on the open market. Some team should take a chance on him, but we're not expecting an Anquan Boldin-like twilight to his career. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson possibly could retire? Thu Mar 2, 08:01 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson and the team have met this offseason, though no plans have been revealed about his future. Retirement is a 'possibility,' as he has finished the last two seasons on injured reserve with knee injuries. General manager Jason Licht said 'we'll always want Vincent to be around the organization.'
Footballguys view: Jackson's age seems to have caught up with him. Don't be shocked if he doesn't return or if the Bucs kick the tires on a guy like Alshon Jeffery. They could use another big weapon opposite Mike Evans, so they will both test the market and look over the draft carefully. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson likely done in Tampa Fri Feb 17, 11:50 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent WR Vincent Jackson isn't likely to be back with the team in 2017 and could be finished in the NFL, according to beat writer Scott Reynolds.
Footballguys view: The writing has been on the wall as Jackson is no longer the player he used to be. Jackson may struggle to latch on with another team, and even if he does sign somewhere else nobody is expecting him to be much of a fantasy factor. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson to be UFA Sun Jan 15, 04:19 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson will be an unrestricted free agent Thursday, March 9, at 4 p.m. EST
Footballguys view: Jackson has had some big seasons during his time with the Bucs. However, over the last two years Jackson has been limited to 15 games. In 2016, Jackson played in only five games finishing the year with 15 catches for 173 yards and zero touchdowns. He could end up retiring, but perhaps some team wants to give him another chance. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson injury not finite Tue Oct 18, 08:08 PM
Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) does not definitively have a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to a source. The injury is still being evaluated, but Jackson could return this season if it is determined that the injury is not to the ACL. If the injury is to Jackson's medial collateral ligament, then he may be able to avoid surgery and recover sooner. Jackson will miss at least six weeks and won't be able to play in a game for eight weeks.
Footballguys view: Either way, fantasy owners have long moved on from the veteran receiver. He may be able to return later in the year for one last hurrah with the Bucs. Without him in the lineup, we should see more work for WR Adam Humphries. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson on IR with torn ACL Tue Oct 18, 05:18 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Oct. 18, with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Footballguys view: This might be it for Jackson. He's had a great pro career, but clearly the veteran receiver was not himself this season. No word on whether or not he'll return for the 2017 season. Jackson is set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2017. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson dealing with knee woes Tue Oct 18, 11:02 AM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) suffered a knee injury in Week 6, and he's being evaluated Tuesday, Oct. 18.
Footballguys view: Jackson certainly isn't the same player he used to be. Fantasy owners shouldn't be carrying Jackson, and these injury woes just further cement that sentiment. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson snags four balls Sun Sep 18, 09:48 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson posted four receptions for 44 yards in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals. He was targeted nine times.
Footballguys view: Jackson did not do much while the game was in question - not that it was for very long. He's only been a short range target and not a very dangerous one. The once great fantasy wideout is only an end of the bench depth wide receiver at best heading into Week 3 against Los Angeles. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson disappears Sun Sep 11, 11:48 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson managed just two receptions for 18 yards in the Week 1 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Footballguys view: QB Jameis Winston spread the ball around...expect to Jackson. Watch to see if this becomes a trend and find other starting options over Jackson until we see differently. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson may play Thursday Thu Aug 11, 03:59 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (undisclosed) will warm up before the preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday, Aug. 11, and may play in the game if he feels good.
Footballguys view: The Bucs will be careful with him considering he had injury issues last season. That, along with Mike Evans stepping in permanently as the top receiver in the offense, limits Jackson's upside. We don't see a huge impact coming from him this season, so leave him as a WR5 you can use depending on matchups. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson banged up Tue Aug 9, 11:02 AM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (undisclosed) is out of practice Tuesday, Aug. 9, as a maintenance day and because he's banged up, according to head coach Dirk Koetter.
Footballguys view: Jackson had a knee injury that cost him a lot of 2015, so we would rather hear that he is feeling better than ever. He was a disappointment but his ADP that often puts him in the double digits rounds makes him pretty cheap for an accomplished wide receiver in a good pass offense. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson to see time in slot Tue Jul 12, 11:12 AM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson will be used in the slot on a regular basis if WR Donteea Dye, WR Kenny Bell or WR Russell Shepard can play well enough to earn regular time on the outside. If this happens, WR Adam Humphries' snaps will be reduced.
Footballguys view: Bell is the player to watch here. A fifth-round pick out of Nebraska in 2015, Bell has no problem making big catches at key moments. He can get by defenders playing off coverage and has the speed to make for a nice deep threat. We could see him stretch the field for the Bucs while Jackson works on more underneath routes. |

Buccaneers | Dirk Koetter praises Vincent Jackson Sat Mar 26, 08:18 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson isn't 'anywhere close' to being finished as a productive receiver, according to head coach Dirk Koetter.
Footballguys view: Jackson only played in 10 games last season, finishing with 33 catches, 543 receiving yards and three touchdowns. If healthy, Jackson could still be a 1,000-yard receiver and a low-end WR3 for fantasy owners. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson returning Fri Jan 29, 12:27 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson will return to the team in 2016. The Buccaneers were 4-4 with him and 2-6 without him in the lineup in 2015.
Footballguys view: Jackson has a $9.7 million cap hit next year, and he's set to be a free agent in 2017. The Bucs may ask him to take a pay cut or extend him to lower that number for 2016. However, they could just pay him the full price and see if the veteran can stay healthy in a contract year. Jackson can obviously be a big part of what they do on offense, and his presence helps out young WR Mike Evans. |

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) will miss several games with a medial collateral ligament sprain. His availability depends on if the Buccaneers make the postseason.
Footballguys view: Bad news for the veteran receiver here. Jackson's been banged up this year, but he's had a few good games. If his regular season is over, then Jackson will finish 2015 with 33 catches for 543 yards and three touchdowns. |

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson doubtful to return Sun Dec 13, 02:29 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) is doubtful to return in Week 14 with a knee injury.

Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson listed as probable Fri Dec 11, 06:04 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) practiced in full for the second straight day Friday, Dec. 11, and is probable to face the New Orleans Saints in Week 14.
Footballguys view: We call the Saints the "Oprah" defense because everyone gets a touchdown! Jackson is a low-end WR2 with upside. |
Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson a full participant Thu Dec 10, 07:08 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson (knee) participated fully in practice Thursday, Dec. 10.
Footballguys view: Jackson is slowly getting his feet back underneath him, and should have some good WR3 production. Rookie quarterback Jameis Winston has bonded with Mike Evans, and Jackson has found himself pushed to the side since his return from injury. |
