Seahawks | Seattle's season ends despite late rally    Sun Jan 12, 10:11 PM

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 21-of-31 passes for 277 yards and a touchdown as the team fell behind by 18 points twice but made a late charge before falling short 28-23 in Sunday's NFC Divisional Round playoff game. Wilson led the team in rushing with 64 yards, while RB Marshawn Lynch rushed for 26 yards and two scores on 12 attempts. WR Tyler Lockett was highly efficient, turning his 10 targets into nine catches for 136 yards and a touchdown. WR DK Metcalf was held somewhat in check after setting a playoff record for most receiving yards by a rookie one week ago, finishing with four receptions for 59 yards. TE Jacob Hollister hauled in five catches for 47 yards. RB Travis Homer chipped in 27 more yards through the air to go along with his 13 rushing yards. CB Tre Flowers, LB K.J. Wright and DE Jadeveon Clowney paced Seattle with seven tackles apiece. LB Shaquem Griffin tallied one of Seattle's two sacks, while Wright and Clowney combined on the other.

Footballguys view: Wilson was once again outstanding in a playoff loss. If the Seahawks had any kind of effective running game, they might have been okay in this one. Their defense has room to improve and the Seahawks will still be in the top of the NFC picture next year.

Seahawks | Seattle advances to face Green Bay    Sun Jan 5, 07:44 PM

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 18-of-30 passes for 325 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the NFC Wild Card Game Sunday, Jan. 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles. He also led the team with 45 rushing yards. RB Marshawn Lynch rushed six times for just seven yards, but he had a touchdown and 25 receiving yards. WR DK Metcalf had seven grabs for a game-best 160 yards and a touchdown, while WR Tyler Lockett had four grabs for 62 yards. WR David Moore also chipped in with 57 yards on two grabs, while TE Jacob Hollister had two grabs for 16 yards on four targets. S Bradley McDougald had 11 total stops with a sack, two tackles for loss and a quarterback hit, while LB/DE Jadeveon Clowney also had five total stops, a sack, two tackles for loss and a quarterback hit.

Footballguys view: The Seahawks are built for a deep postseason run and they got their first game out of the way. Playing on the road against the Packers is going to be much more difficult. Seattle didn't run the ball well against the Eagles and QB Russell Wilson was the team's leading rusher with 45 yards. They'll need to be better on the ground if they want to take down the Packers in the Divisional Round.

  Seahawks | Seattle's Week 15 injury report    Fri Dec 13, 05:56 PM

Seattle Seahawks LB Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) and RB Rashaad Penny (knee) did not practice Friday, Dec. 13, and have been ruled out for Week 15 versus the Carolina Panthers. TE Luke Willson (hamstring) and CB Shaquill Griffin (hamstring) also did not participate in practice Friday but are listed as questionable. DE Jadeveon Clowney (core, illness) and DE Ziggy Ansah (neck) were limited in practice Friday and are also listed as questionable. DT Al Woods (ankle) did not practice Friday but is expected to play. OT Duane Brown (knee, biceps) was limited Friday but no longer appears on the injury report. FB Nick Bellore (quad), TE Jacob Hollister (thigh), OG Mike Iupati (neck), WR Tyler Lockett (shin), OG Jordan Roos (back), LB Cody Barton (knee, ankle), WR Josh Gordon (knee) and OT George Fant (knee) logged a full practice Friday and have also been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: If Willson returns it could take the edge off of Jacob Hollister's upside in Carolina. Clowney's illness is a bigger problem than his core muscle injury right now. If he can't go Sunday, the Seattle D/ST is a downgrade and Kyle Allen and the Panthers passing game is an upgrade.

The Seattle Seahawks added free-agents WR Jazz Ferguson, WR Terry Wright, TE Jacob Hollister, CB Simeon Thomas, OG Jordan Roos and OT Elijah Nkansah to their practice squad Sunday, Sept. 1.

Seahawks | Jacob Hollister impressing in camp    Wed Aug 7, 09:20 PM

Seattle Seahawks TE Jacob Hollister has 'been as impressive as anyone on the roster' in the receiving game so far during training camp, according to beat writer Michael-Shawn Dugar.

Footballguys view: Hollister has always had talent, and thought the Patriots might have something in him as a dynasty prospect. Then, they traded him to Seattle and now the Seahawks get to see if he can develop into a quality starter. Hollister is competing with guys like Will Dissly and Nick Vannett for snaps in 2019.

Seahawks | Will Dissly the only lock at TE    Wed Jun 19, 02:24 AM

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (knee) is the only lock to make the 53-man roster among its tight ends, in the opinion of the Seattle Times' Bob Condotta, who gives the edge to TEs Nick Vannett and Jacob Hollister for the other two spots.

Footballguys view: It's funny that Dissly would be considered a lock for the 53-man roster when he hasn't even recovered from the torn patella tendon he suffered in Week 4 last season. Dissly won't be ready for the start of training camp, but reports indicate that he should be ready for Week 1 of the regular season. When healthy, Dissly will be competing for a reserve or (at most) rotational role.

Seahawks | Jacob Hollister making early impression    Tue Jun 4, 11:14 PM

Seattle Seahawks TE Jacob Hollister is reportedly off to a strong start and has caught the eye of offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who referred to his new pupil as a 'terrific acquisition.''The speed element is awesome. Really good route-runner. A lot like Tyler (Lockett) in terms of the instincts, just the ability to get open. He has a great feel for coverages, man to zone,' Schottenheimer said.

Footballguys view: The Patriots could've used this guy. They traded him to Seattle earlier this year as they were jam-packed at the position at the time. That's not the case now as the Patriots might start Matt LaCosse to begin the regular season. We've appreciated Hollister's game since his days in college at Wyoming when he was a favorite target of Josh Allen. Hollister is buried on the depth hart behind Will Dissly, Nick Vannett and Ed Dickson but it's good news he is impressing.

Patriots | Jacob Hollister shipped to Seattle    Mon Apr 29, 04:43 PM

New England Patriots TE Jacob Hollister was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a 2020 seventh-round draft pick Monday, April 29.

Footballguys view: The Patriots picked up Hollister out of Wyoming a couple of years ago. He didn't get much playing time during his time with the Patriots and the team decided to move on from him. They've added Matt LaCosse and Austin Seferian-Jenkins earlier this offseason. We'll see who ends up at the top of the depth chart in training camp as the team tries to find their Rob Gronkowski replacement.

New England Patriots TE Jacob Hollister (hamstring) has had trouble moving around during practice because of his hamstring injury and may not be available to play during the playoffs, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Mike Reiss.

Footballguys view: Hollister has talent as a move tight end but he does deal with his fair share of injuries....and oh yeah, he's behind Rob Gronkowski on the depth chart. We'll know more about Hollister's status for the Divisional Round during the week of practice.
