Wagner is an ascendant player and one of the top young MLB/ILBs in the game (turns 24 in 2014). While Utah St. may not be a prolific NFL prospect conduit like some far more high profile SEC programs (at 2.15 in the 2012 draft, he was the highest pedigree Aggie taken in over two decades, since former Denver Bronco DE great Rulon Jones in 1980), he flashed his signature athletic versatility there as the WAC Defensive Player of the Year, with 147 tackles, 4 sacks and 2 INTs as a senior in 2011, and has been doing so ever since arriving in Seattle. Wagner's multi-talented skill set and ability to be a force in run support with the safety-like athleticism to run stride-for-stride with TEs and RBs in coverage have figured prominently in the Seahawks miserly defense. He built on a brilliant rookie season with an even more productive soph campaign (89 solo tackles, 5 sacks and 2 INTs), despite playing in two less games (14), which could translate to across the board increases in his numbers if this fast developing, rising star plays a full 16 game slate of regular season games as Seattle defends their Super Bowl trophy and aspires to a repeat appearance and victory in 2014. Seahawks | Bobby Wagner believes team is better (Tue Jul 15, 06:30 PM) - Seattle Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner said Tuesday, July 15 he thinks the team has gotten way better this year, mainly because of how young they are.

Our View: The Seahawks will have to overcome the loss of Golden Tate (Lions) on offense and the loss of Chris Clemons (Jaguars) on defense. We'll see how well they defend their title this year. The Seahawks or the 49ers are arguably the best teams in the NFL today.

Seahawks | Bobby Wagner thought Broncos were intimidated (Tue Jul 15, 04:26 PM) - Seattle Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner said he thought the Denver Broncos were intimidated of the team's defense during the Super Bowl. 'They looked scared out there,' Wagner said of the Broncos. 'Nobody wanted to catch the ball. Nobody wanted to come up the middle,' Wagner said.

Our View: Wagner has his opinion, and the Broncos were certainly outplayed in every facet of the Super Bowl. We think it's ridiculous to call a team "scared" and players like Terrance Knighton have already reacted to this statement. The two teams play each other in the preseason, but also early in the regular season. We could see a rematch of the Super Bowl this year if Seattle and Denver can get back to the big game.
