The Atlanta Falcons placed WR Drew Davis (foot) on the training camp physically unable to perform list Saturday, July 5. Davis recently underwent a procedure on his foot that will require him to miss about six weeks.
| Footballguys view: The PUP list for training camp is very different than the PUP list for the regular season. On the training camp PUP list a player can return at any time when he's healthy. On the regular season PUP list he's forced to miss the first six weeks of the season. We'll see if Davis can get healthy and compete at some point later in the preseason. |

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (ankle, hamstring) returned to practice Friday, Nov. 1, after visiting with a team doctor Thursday, Oct. 31. White ran a few individual drills at the start of the practice Friday and will be listed as limited for the session. Head coach Mike Smith said White's status for Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers is uncertain.
| Footballguys view: As was discussed earlier, this is good but you need to see consistent practices and some production before you plug him into the lineup with any faith. Even then he may not be more than a flex play for some time. |

Atlanta Falcons WRs Kevin Cone and Drew Davis appear to have an edge for the No. 4 and 5 wide receiver spots on the roster because they have some experience with the team.
| Footballguys view: Who? Exactly. The Falcons have very little proven depth at wide receiver after Julio Jones, Roddy White, and Harry Douglas. Cone and Davis know the system and could be deep sleepers if injuries strike two of those three, but Tony Gonzalez would also become a focus of the passing game in that case. The Falcons could also look to poach a promising young receiver that a team tries to slip to the practice squad in final cuts before the season. |

Atlanta Falcons WR Drew Davis will be competing for the No. 4 and No. 5 wide receiver spots during training camp. Head coach Mike Smith likes how Davis has improved his play on special teams. Davis likely will have to continue to play well on special teams to make the final roster.
| Footballguys view: Davis carved out a role for himself on the team last year after being an undrafted free agent out of Oregon in 2011. He can be used effectively as a downfield target or as a receiver over the middle. Davis is an important name to remember for fantasy owners in deep dynasty leagues. We like his size/speed combination and are interested to see how he further develops in 2013. |

Atlanta Falcons WRs Drew Davis and Kevin Cone are competing for the No. 5 wide receiver job during training camp. Head coach Mike Smith said the winner of the roster spot will have to perform well on special teams as well. Smith said Cone may have had the advantage entering camp because he played on special teams in a few games last season but was impressed with how Davis performed during the first preseason game.

| Footballguys view: After Douglas there are a lot of unproven (but talented) WRs on the Falcons roster. We like Meier the best out of the group if he can stay healthy. The converted college QB is a very good route runner and knows how to find the soft spots in the zone. He could be a trusted option for QB Matt Ryan in spread formations. |
