Chargers | James Jones cut Mon Aug 29, 08:33 PM
San Diego Chargers WR James Jones was released Monday, Aug. 29.
|Footballguys view: About a month ago, WR Stevie Johnson went down with a season-ending knee injury and the Chargers were quick to scoop Jones up. Now, Jones is on the street again. There may be some team interested, but we can't imagine anyone lined up around the block for his services.|

Ravens | Breshad Perriman has chance to play Mon Aug 29, 08:20 PM
Baltimore Ravens WR Breshad Perriman (knee) will play in the final preseason game if he is cleared by the doctors, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh said he would like to see Perriman play before the regular season begins.
|Footballguys view: We'd like to see Perriman play too. He missed all of his rookie season in 2015 due to knee injuries, and this June he was diagnosed with a partially-torn ACL. If healthy, Perriman gives the Ravens another deep threat in the passing game. Dynasty owners should be watching this situation, while re-draft owners can find plenty of value elsewhere.|

Chargers | Joey Bosa to sit Thursday Mon Aug 29, 08:03 PM
San Diego Chargers DE Joey Bosa will not play in the final preseason game Thursday, Sept. 1. Head coach Mike McCoy said the team will take a wait-and-see approach in terms of when Bosa will be able to play in a game. McCoy said Bosa reported to camp in great shape.
|Footballguys view: Bosa may be in great shape, but he's not yet in football shape. The Chargers will be cautious as they ease him into action after the rookie's lengthy holdout. Even with the regular season begins, we could see Bosa worked in as a part-time player until he's ready to do more.|

49ers | OC expects Colin Kaepernick to make team Mon Aug 29, 08:01 PM
San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins said he expects QB Colin Kaepernick to be on the roster when the regular season starts but that it is not his decision.
|Footballguys view: Lord only knows what's going to happen with Kaepernick. He could make the team, and he could actually end up starting for the 49ers at some point this year. Blaine Gabbert should begin the season as the starter, but we don't have confidence that he'll retain that job.|

NFL | Sammie Lee Hill suspended Mon Aug 29, 07:42 PM
Free-agent DT Sammie Lee Hill (Titans) was suspended for the first four games of the regular season for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: This won't help him latch on with another team. Hill hasn't drawn any interest on the open market since the Seahawks visited with him back in March.|

Cowboys | Mark Sanchez not trade target for Dallas Mon Aug 29, 07:10 PM
Denver Broncos QB Mark Sanchez is not a trade option for the Dallas Cowboys if they have to accept his current contract. The Broncos have approached the Cowboys about a possible trade involving Sanchez.
|Footballguys view: That's not a surprise given Sanchez's $4.5 million price tag. There's $1 million guaranteed on the deal, and that's enough to keep teams away. The Broncos could ask Sanchez to take a pay cut if they can't get rid of him via trade and don't want to cut him.|

Chiefs | Knile Davis still on the block Mon Aug 29, 06:55 PM
Kansas City Chiefs RB Knile Davis is still available for trade. He had been shopped earlier this offseason.
|Footballguys view: Davis was shopped around the draft and is obviously still with the Chiefs. With cuts happening around the league, we don't see any team stepping up now to trade for Davis. He might be released if the Chiefs can't find any suitors.|

Packers | Jordy Nelson practices in full Mon Aug 29, 06:53 PM
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) fully participated in practice Monday, Aug. 29. Nelson said he does not expect to play in the final preseason game.
|Footballguys view: We're so glad to hear this. Nelson's health is the key for the Packers passing game. If he's his old self, the Packers should be able to light it up through the air. We like Nelson as a low-end WR1 in 2016, and Nelson's currently coming off the board at WR11 (2.06) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Titans | Kendall Wright aggravates hamstring Mon Aug 29, 06:43 PM
Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright (hamstring) strained his hamstring again in practice Monday, Aug. 29. He will not play in the final preseason game against the Miami Dolphins Thursday, Sept. 1.
|Footballguys view: More bad news for Wright here. He's missed most of camp and the preseason due to hamstring problems, and now he's down again. Fantasy owners shouldn't worry because they weren't adding him anyway. Rishard Matthews and Tajae Sharpe will be the two lead receivers on what should be a run-heavy offense.|

Bears | Eddie Royal cleared Mon Aug 29, 06:40 PM
Chicago Bears WR Eddie Royal (concussion) participated in practice Monday, Aug. 29, after he passed all of his concussion tests. Head coach John Fox said he is not sure if Royal will play in the final preseason game.
|Footballguys view: We don't think Royal should play in that game. He's a seasoned pro who doesn't need preseason reps in the fourth contest. Royal should be the team's no.3 WR behind Alshon Jeffery and Kevin White. His fantasy value is limited by his role.|

Chicago Bears TE Zach Miller (concussion) passed his concussion tests and participated in practice Monday, Aug. 29. Head coach John Fox said he is not sure if Miller will play in the final preseason game.
|Footballguys view: Miller is the lead TE for the Bears this year. We like him as a late-round 'lottery ticket' pick as Miller should be considered a TE2 for fantasy owners.|

Free-agent QB Ricky Stanzi (Lions), QB Charlie Whitehurst (Colts), TE Bear Pascoe (Patriots) and TE Jack Tabb (Saints) worked out for the New Orleans Saints Monday, Aug. 29.
|Footballguys view: Don't be too excited about your Garrett Grayson dynasty stock. The team has spent a lot of time looking at upgrading the position behind Drew Brees. Luke McCown is the primary backup behind Brees, and last year's third-round pick (Grayson) has not moved up the depth chart.|

Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt (back) is progressing well and may be ready to play by Week 1, according to head coach Bill O'Brien.

Raiders | Max McCaffrey waived Mon Aug 29, 05:25 PM
Oakland Raiders WR Max McCaffrey was waived Monday, Aug. 29.
|Footballguys view: McCaffrey is the son of former Broncos star WR Ed McCaffrey, and he's the older brother of Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey. The former Duke WR has a lot of speed and can get by defenders on deep routes. Perhaps he'll find a way onto some team's practice squad.|

Broncos | Paxton Lynch will play full game Mon Aug 29, 05:17 PM
Denver Broncos QB Paxton Lynch will play the entire game against the Arizona Cardinals Thursday, Sept. 1.
|Footballguys view: That's no surprise given the team may not retain Mark Sanchez. We've already learned that Trevor Siemian is the starter for Week 1 against the Panthers, and there's no need to risk injury in a meaningless preseason game.|

Atlanta Falcons RB Terron Ward was on the field during practice Monday, Aug. 29, but did not do much. His status for the final preseason game is uncertain at this point.
|Footballguys view: Ward is the type of bubble player who could benefit from playing in the last preseason contest of the year. We'll see if he can actually get on the field to try and make the 53-man roster.|

|Footballguys view: Jones was banged up in the third preseason game, but the team kept him out of action as a precaution. He's a top-3 pick in any format for fantasy owners.|

Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown (concussion) is still having headaches, but he is making progress, according to head coach Bruce Arians.
|Footballguys view: Fantasy owners need to monitor this situation. Brown's concussion problems have lingered for most of the month. That's not a good sign, and he may not be available by the start of the regular season. If Brown is out, then expect more from Jaron Brown and J.J. Nelson in his place.|

Redskins | Keith Marshall may go on IR Mon Aug 29, 03:39 PM
Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins RB Keith Marshall (elbow) may be placed on the Reserve/Injured list, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Marshall will miss three weeks with a sprained elbow.
|Footballguys view: Marshall suffered a major knee injury during his college career at Georgia and was never quite the same player he was when he came out of high school as one of the best backs in the country. The injury bug has followed him to the pros with this latest problem. With Marshall down, Washington will turn to Rob Kelley. There's a chance that Kelley could start Week 1 if Matt Jones (shoulder) isn't quite ready.|

Redskins | Ryan Kerrigan day-to-day Mon Aug 29, 03:13 PM
Washington Redskins LB Ryan Kerrigan (groin) is considered day-to-day with his groin injury, according to head coach Jay Gruden.
|Footballguys view: Kerrigan is the team's best pass-rusher, and they don't have a ton of depth at the position. His groin was bothering him before their third preseason game, and it tightened up on him in the game.|

Redskins | Matt Jones making good progress Mon Aug 29, 03:06 PM
Washington Redskins RB Matt Jones (shoulder) is progressing nicely, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Jones is dealing with a shoulder sprain.

Chargers | Joey Bosa signs Mon Aug 29, 02:57 PM
San Diego Chargers rookie DE Joey Bosa signed his four-year deal Monday, Aug. 29. Bosa's four-year deal is worth $25.8 million, according to a source. The contract is fully guaranteed and comes with a $17 million signing bonus.
|Footballguys view: Finally! The two sides had to come together on the offset language and salary deferment. With less than two weeks to go until the start of the regular season, Bosa may have to begin his pro career as a part-time player. Bosa will have to get up to speed quickly, and it will take a bit for him to get into football shape even though he's reportedly been working out on his own during this holdout.|
