Los Angeles Chargers RB Justin Jackson was signed to the active roster from the practice squad Monday, Sept. 24. RB Detrez Newsome was waived in a corresponding move.

Footballguys view: We appreciate Jackson in deep dynasty leagues. He's a slashing running back with good burst and balance. He is buried on the depth chart but we'll monitor him in those long-view formats.

Ravens | Hayden Hurst to practice soon?    Mon Sep 24, 04:47 PM

Baltimore Ravens TE Hayden Hurst (foot) could return to practice this week, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

Footballguys view: Hurst could be a borderline TE1 for Fantasy GMs when he's at full strength. The rookie first-round pick has the talent to become a favorite target of QB Joe Flacco. Grab him on waivers if someone got impatient and dumped him in your league.

Bills | LeSean McCoy is progressing well    Mon Sep 24, 04:32 PM

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (ribs) is making progress and considered day-to-day as he continues to recover from cracked rib cartilage, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

Footballguys view: The Bills offense showed life on Sunday in a big win over the Vikings...and they did that without McCoy. It's good news they showed that spark, and it helps give us optimism about McCoy's potential upon his return. Rib injuries all come down to pain tolerance. We should see McCoy limited during the week of practice.

Arizona Cardinals QB Josh Rosen has been named the starting quarterback for Week 4, according to head coach Steve Wilks.

Footballguys view: The Cardinals are at home against the Seahawks in Week 4. The rookie got into the game against the Bears on Sunday and moved the chains. Rosen is smart and can get rid of the ball quickly. Fantasy GMs should only consider him a low-end QB2 or streaming option.

Jets | Le'Veon Bell of interest to Jets    Mon Sep 24, 03:15 PM

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell has drawn interest from the New York Jets, who have inquired about Bell's trade availability, according to sources. New York has yet to make an offer for Bell, however.

Footballguys view: This divorce needs to happen. Bell isn't going to sign long-term with the Steelers and he'll be a free agent in 2019 provided he returns from his holdout in time to get an accrued season. Even though he's a superstar, the Steelers might not get much in return for Bell if he is traded away.

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (knee) has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.

Footballguys view: This was feared but also expected by the 49ers after the quarterback's injury on Sunday. There are reports that indicate he could have MCL damage as well but that is not confirmed. We'll see if Garoppolo is back for the start of the 2019 season. Right now, the 49ers will turn to C.J. Beathard as their starting quarterback.

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (elbow) is still unable to make every throw he needs to make, according to head coach Mike Vrabel, who added he hopes the 'whole package can come back this week.'

Footballguys view: Mariota came off the bench in Week 3 to lead the Titans to a road win against the Jaguars. He's certainly not at full strength but perhaps he'll improve enough over the week to get his normal workload and expected gameplan.

Browns | No Monday practice for Tyrod Taylor    Mon Sep 24, 01:23 PM

Cleveland Browns QB Tyrod Taylor (concussion) did not practice Monday, Sept. 24.

Footballguys view: Taylor was replaced in the game by Baker Mayfield, and the rookie led the Browns to their first win in 635 days. It's a no-brainer decision to go with Mayfield from here on out and that's why he moved to the top of the depth chart. We'll see if Taylor can get cleared from the concussion protocol at some point this week.

Rams | Andrew Whitworth not hurt after all    Mon Sep 24, 01:15 PM

Browns | Baker Mayfield rises to top of depth chart    Mon Sep 24, 01:06 PM

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield was named the team's starting quarterback Monday, Sept. 24.

Footballguys view: Mayfield is the future of the Browns and after leading them to a win over the Jets in Week 3 the future is now. The rookie brings exciting play to the field but Fantasy GMs should only see him as a QB2 or streaming option in deep leagues.

Rams | Andrew Whitworth undergoes minor knee surgery    Mon Sep 24, 12:42 PM

Los Angeles Rams OT Andrew Whitworth (knee) was injured near the end of the Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers and underwent minor knee surgery Monday, Sept. 24. The team has yet to announce a timetable for his recovery.

Texans | Jordan Thomas earning more playing time    Mon Sep 24, 12:35 PM

Houston Texans TE Jordan Thomas 'has done a good job and probably needs to be in there more,' according to head coach Bill O'Brien.

Footballguys view: Thomas is a huge target, measuring in at 6'5" 280 pounds. A converted wide receiver from Mississippi State, Thomas creates mismatch problems when he's on the field. We love him in deep dynasty formats, and we'll continue to monitor his progress in the NFL as he learns his new position.

Eagles | Jay Ajayi, Darren Sproles likely back Week 4    Mon Sep 24, 12:28 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RBs Jay Ajayi (back) and Darren Sproles (hamstring) are expected to play in Week 4 versus the Tennessee Titans.

Footballguys view: Good news for the Eagles backfield. Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement were the team's leading rushers on Sunday against the Colts with 56 rushing yards each. If Ajayi is in the game, he should be the lead back for the Eagles. Fantasy GMs are familiar with this backfield getting split up, so look at Ajayi as more of a low-end RB2 or flex play when he returns.
