Steelers | Pittsburgh selects JuJu Smith-Schuster Fri Apr 28, 09:39 PM
The Pittsburgh Steelers selected WR JuJu Smith-Schuster with the 62nd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: The Steelers get quite a good player here. JuJu's strong hands, my-ball mentality, aggressiveness and physical game will be a great addition to this offense. With the speedy Antonio Brown on one side, Smith-Schuster should feast on the other.|
Panthers | Carolina adds Taylor Moton Fri Apr 28, 09:35 PM
The Carolina Panthers selected OG Taylor Moton with the 64th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: An experienced starter who was on the line for Western Michigan four years. He has the size to be dominant at the point of attack, though his movements are a bit stiff and he needs to improve his footwork. His physical abilities are there, his technique isn't yet.|
Bills | Buffalo drafts Dion Dawkins Fri Apr 28, 09:33 PM
The Buffalo Bills selected OG Dion Dawkins with the 63rd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: The Bills moved up to get a very solid tackle who has good initial quickness and a nice kick-slide out of his initial stance. He used to be a defensive tackle, so he is still not as good a player as he will be.|
Bills | Sammy Watkins' option may not be picked up Fri Apr 28, 09:32 PM
Buffalo Bills WR Sammy Watkins' (foot) fifth-year option likely will not be picked up before the May 2 deadline, according to sources.Link to story

Cowboys | Orlando Scandrick being shopped Fri Apr 28, 09:27 PM
Dallas Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick is being shopped for a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: Now that they have added Chidobe Awuzie, Scandrick is expendable. We'll see if they get bites.|

Packers | Green Bay adds Josh Jones to secondary Fri Apr 28, 09:24 PM
The Green Bay Packers selected SS Josh Jones with the 61st pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Jones likes to hit people on the football field, so you can have him up in the box and attacking runners. He can also help against vertical threats. That said, he needs better discipline in coverage and as a tackler.|
Cowboys | Dallas takes Chidobe Awuzie Fri Apr 28, 09:21 PM
The Dallas Cowboys selected Chidobe Awuzie with the 60th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Dallas gets themselves a good cover corner who can lock onto a receiver and stay on him. His size, speed and instincts make him dangerous downfield. He's not a great tackler but you can put him outside or in the slot.|
Chiefs | Kansas City drafts Tanoh Kpassagnon Fri Apr 28, 09:14 PM
The Kansas City Chiefs drafted DE Tanoh Kpassagnon with the 59th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Kpassagnon (good luck with that one announcers) has the size, length and athleticism teams want in the defensive front, but he struggles when pass rushing at times. He needs to add some strength to his lower body so he can set the edge more effectively. Kpassagnon lands in a solid situation though and should be able to learn from some very good players, so we think he can reach his potential.|
Seahawks | Seattle selects Ethan Pocic Fri Apr 28, 09:12 PM
The Seattle Seahawks drafted C Ethan Pocic with the 58th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Hey the Seahawks actually drafted an offensive line player. Pocic started all over the LSU line, so Seattle might be able to move him around if need be. He's whipsmart and really loved by his coaches at LSU as well as teammates. He's a leader, and a solid blocker, though he isn't the most powerful player. They never should have moved on from Mac Unger but this is a step in the right direction.|
Texans | Houston selects Zach Cunningham Fri Apr 28, 09:06 PM
The Houston Texans selected Vanderbilt LB Zach Cunningham with the No. 57 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Cunningham misses tackles but his production and eye for finding the ball are so good you can let that go a little. He could be a nice fit on the weak-side and should be a contributor early in his career for an already talented defense.|
Raiders | Oakland selects Obi Melifonwu Fri Apr 28, 09:04 PM
The Oakland Raiders selected Connecticut S Obi Melifonwu with the No. 56 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.

Lions | Detroit selects Teez Tabor Fri Apr 28, 08:50 PM
The Detroit Lions selected Florida CB Teez Tabor with the No. 53 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Tabor has the chance to be a very solid corner, because he has good size and quickness, but his speed issues and some lapses in judgement and awareness in coverage are concerns. Then again, he has nine career interceptions.|
Browns | Cleveland selects DeShone Kizer Fri Apr 28, 08:47 PM
The Cleveland Browns selected Notre Dame QB DeShone Kizer with the No. 52 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: The Browns finally get their quarterback and this is the pick they didn't trade to get. If possible, sitting him a year is the way to go given some of his decision-making and the meltdowns he's had late in games with it all on the line. That said, we think his leadership has been hammered a bit hard in the pre-draft process and think he has what it takes to succeed.|
Broncos | Denver selects DeMarcus Walker Fri Apr 28, 08:43 PM
The Denver Broncos selected Florida State DE DeMarcus Walker with the No. 51 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Walker gets a lot of sacks but the effort is hit or miss with him. He's not going to have the size to come off the edge, but can step inside and attack there.|
Buccaneers | Bucs select Justin Evans Fri Apr 28, 08:38 PM
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Texas A&M S Justin Evans with the No. 50 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Evans hits hard, early and often. He isn't as big as you want, but he makes up for it in energy, speed and skill. He also has good athleticism and ball skills. This is a solid addition to this defense.|
Redskins | Ryan Anderson selected by Redskins Fri Apr 28, 08:37 PM
The Washington Redskins selected Alabama LB Ryan Anderson with the No. 49 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Anderson is a great edge rusher with tremendous explosion and can play the run as well. Rush or pass play he can get after the ball.|
Bengals | Cincinnati selects Joe Mixon Fri Apr 28, 08:34 PM
The Cincinnati Bengals selected Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon with the No. 48 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Well, plenty of people booed this pick in Philadelphia and we can't blame them. From a talent standpoint, Mixon is a great fit and Jeremy Hill owners should worry. It's hard not to feel dirty here though as what he has done off the field is repugnant. Cincinnati has embraced troubled players before with some success so perhaps this is a good spot for him. But many, many teams had him off their boards and we understand that too.|
Ravens | Baltimore selects Tyus Bowser Fri Apr 28, 08:27 PM
The Baltimore Ravens selected Houston LB Tyus Bowser with the No. 47 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: We're trying to come up with a good "Mario-Luigi-Bowser' joke, but that princess is probably in another castle. And if you got that, you need to get off the couch more - just like us. You can move Bowser all around, putting him just off the line of scrimmage or making him a 'Joker' in some sub-packages. Another nice piece to the rebuilding Ravens defense.|
Colts | Indianapolis selects Quincy Wilson Fri Apr 28, 08:26 PM
The Indianapolis Colts selected Florida CB Quincy Wilson with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Wilson lacks elite speed so people are projecting him to safety but he can play corner. He's a confident, aggressive player who is another piece to what looks to be a nice secondary for Indianapolis.|
Bears | Chicago selects Adam Shaheen Fri Apr 28, 08:24 PM
The Chicago Bears selected Ashland TE Adam Shaheen with the No. 45 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Shaheen weighs 280 or so pounds and yet moves like a man half that size. Shockingly, he is an ex-basketball player and could be a nice weapon for Mitch Trubisky and Mike Glennon.|
Rams | Gerald Everett selected by the Rams Fri Apr 28, 08:17 PM
The Los Angeles Rams selected South Alabama TE Gerald Everett with the No. 44 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Consider this a gift for Jared Goff - an actual red zone target. Beyond that, it's a solid pick and hopefully a sign the team is serious about building this offense up soon.|
Eagles | Sidney Jones selected by the Eagles Fri Apr 28, 08:08 PM
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Washington CB Sidney Jones with the No. 43 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: The Eagles address their secondary finally, and get a guy that they were talking about taking higher at one point. He's got great ball skills and is a willing tackler even if he isn't a large fellow.|
Saints | New Orleans selects Marcus Williams Fri Apr 28, 08:01 PM
The New Orleans Saints selected Utah S Marcus A. Williams with the No. 42 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: More secondary help for the Saints, who are desperately trying to fix the defense. The worst pass defense in the NFL is getting better.|
Vikings | Minnesota selects Dalvin Cook Fri Apr 28, 07:56 PM
The Minnesota Vikings selected Florida State RB Dalvin Cook with the No. 41 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: We knew they weren't in love with Jerrick McKinnon's production last year so this is a solid pick. There are some off field concerns about Cook, but he's an exciting player. Now they just need someone to block for him.|
Panthers | Carolina selects Curtis Samuel Fri Apr 28, 07:56 PM
The Carolina Panthers selected Ohio State WR Curtis Samuel with the No. 40 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Cam Newton sure doesn't have excuses with this and the Christian McCaffrey pick. Both he and Samuel are playmakers and the Panthers should find all sorts of ways to use both versatile players.|
Jets | Marcus Maye selected by the Jets Fri Apr 28, 07:47 PM
The New York Jets selected Florida S Marcus Maye with the No. 39 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Well, that tracks given the Calvin Pryor rumors, but now that his replacement is in the house, who will give the Jets much for Pryor? Marcus Gilchrist is hurt too, so this pick makes a ton of sense. It's a whole new secondary.|
Chargers | Forrest Lamp selected by the Chargers Fri Apr 28, 07:47 PM
The Los Angeles Chargers selected Western Kentucky OG Forrest Lamp with the No. 38 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: What an absolute steal. He dominated Alabama last season which tells you all you need to know about his talent. Considering how much the teams ahead of this pick needed offensive line talent, it's insane he was here for the Chargers. That said, good on the Chargers for continuing to build the offensive line.|
Bills | Zay Jones selected by Bills Fri Apr 28, 07:43 PM
The Buffalo Bills selected East Carolina WR Zay Jones with the No. 37 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Jones has great hands and is super-tough. His tape doesn't show the ability to run underneath routes, but people at the Senior Bowl swear he can. He could be a nice fit across from Sammy Watkins.|
Cardinals | Arizona selects Budda Baker Fri Apr 28, 07:36 PM
The Arizona Cardinals selected Washington S Budda Baker with the No. 36 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Next to Taco, the best name in the draft. Budda Baker is a bit small and doesn't have great ball skills, but the corners around him could allow him a little flexibility in trying to learn to make plays.|
Seahawks | Seattle selects Malik McDowell Fri Apr 28, 07:28 PM
The Seattle Seahawks selected Michigan State DT Malik McDowell with the No. 35 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Well at least the Seahawks aren't bucking the tradition of ignoring their offensive line issues. McDowell flashes great ability but is wildly inconsistent. We'll see if the Seahawks can drum that out of him.|
Jaguars | Jacksonville selects Cam Robinson Fri Apr 28, 07:22 PM
The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Alabama OT Cam Robinson with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Robinson is a huge dude with the ability to play either tackle or step inside. Sometimes he gets a bit sloppy, resulting in penalties or overextending himself, but he is a good fit on this offensive line overall.|
Packers | Kevin King selected by the Packers Fri Apr 28, 06:52 PM
The Green Bay Packers selected Washington CB Kevin King with the No. 33 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: The Packers tried to get someone to bite on a trade but nobody took their 'we might draft a quarterback' nonsense seriously. So they went with a need pick, who also happened to be the best on the board at his position. He is a solid cover corner who will allow the Packers to play single coverage on at least one side.|
Chargers | Tyler Johnstone waived Fri Apr 28, 06:52 PM
Los Angeles Chargers OT Tyler Johnstone was waived Friday, April 28.Link to story
Cowboys | Jaylon Smith to take part in rookie minicamp Fri Apr 28, 06:18 PM

49ers | No second surgery for Reuben Foster Fri Apr 28, 05:54 PM
San Francisco 49ers LB Reuben Foster (shoulder) said he will not need a second surgery on his injured shoulder and should be ready for training camp.
|Footballguys view: He might still need surgery but can play through it for now. Also while other teams might have felt there was enough damage to warrant surgery, the Niners clearly didn't.|
Ravens | C.J. Mosley's optioned picked up Fri Apr 28, 05:53 PM
Baltimore Ravens LB C.J. Mosley's fifth-year option was officially exercised Friday, April 28, according to a source.Link to story

Broncos | Garett Bolles to compete for LT job Fri Apr 28, 05:36 PM
Denver Broncos OT Garett Bolles will compete with OTs Ty Sambrailo and Donald Stephenson for the starting left tackle job during training camp.
|Footballguys view: They are desperate for good tackles, so if the rookie is even somewhat good, he make it a starting gig at one of the spots.|
Colts | T.J. Green staying at safety Fri Apr 28, 05:13 PM
Indianapolis Colts FS T.J. Green will remain at safety even though the team talked about the possibility of moving him to cornerback, according to general manager Chris Ballard.Link to story

Colts | Malik Hooker likely out until camp Fri Apr 28, 05:07 PM
Indianapolis Colts S Malik Hooker (hip, hernia) likely will be sidelined until training camp because he is recovering from hip and sports hernia surgeries, according to head coach Chuck Pagano.
|Footballguys view: This shouldn't be a big deal for a defensive back. As long as he's ready to go to start the season, the Colts will be fine.|
Jets | Calvin Pryor available Fri Apr 28, 05:07 PM
New York Jets FS Calvin Pryor is being shopped around by the Jets, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: Pryor has been a disappointment, although we feel he is salvageable. Clearly the Jets, who are building for the future, are looking to offload their veterans and go Young.|

Jets | Jamal Adams can play either safety position Fri Apr 28, 04:43 PM
New York Jets S Jamal Adams has the ability to play either free safety or strong safety, according to head coach Todd Bowles.
|Footballguys view: Atoms has the potential to be an exceptional safety in the league, so the Jets will give him a chance to show that.|
Bills | Tre'Davious White could start Fri Apr 28, 04:32 PM
Buffalo Bills CB Tre'Davious White will be given the opportunity to compete for a starting cornerback as a rookie, according to head coach Sean McDermott. McDermott said White can play as an outside cornerback or a nickel back and could also be used as a returner.
|Footballguys view: The Bills are desperate for cornerback help now that Stephon Gilmore is gone, so of course the rookie will get a shot to start. We think he could be quite good although it may take him a little while to find his feet.|
Jets | Muhammad Wilkerson being shopped around Fri Apr 28, 04:32 PM
The New York Jets are calling other teams about the possibility of trading DE Muhammad Wilkerson.
|Footballguys view: And so begins the Jets veteran fire sale. Here's the thing, they paid Wilkerson a lot of money and then he didn't show up. Quite literally in fact, as he kept skipping team meetings. So unfortunately though he has a lot of skill, teams may not be willing to pay the Jets for him given they know he was a problem in the locker room last year. That said the Jets are wise to try and dump that contract and get some value for him rather than throwing good money after bad.|

Browns | Gary Barnidge cut Fri Apr 28, 03:23 PM
Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns TE Gary Barnidge was released Friday, April 28.
|Footballguys view: Not an elite tight end, we still think Barnidge will get plenty of interest and could be very productive in the right situation.|

Browns | Cleveland turning focus to AJ McCarron? Fri Apr 28, 02:54 PM
The Cleveland Browns have 'touched base' with the Cincinnati Bengals in regards to trading for QB AJ McCarron, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, who acknowledged talks do not 'sound like they've gotten too far'.
|Footballguys view: Sounds like maybe the Browns aren't super confident in Brock Osweiler after all. They'll keep kicking tires, but we have no idea how good McCarron will be so they can't be interested in giving up much for him.|
A.J. McCarron player page
Browns | Gary Barnidge to be released Fri Apr 28, 02:01 PM
Cleveland Browns TE Gary Barnidge has been informed he will be released, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: With David Njoku around, it seems like the Browns don't need Barnidge. He should see some interest and will be a nice productive option for some tight end needy team.|

Saints | New Orleans still open to trade for CB Fri Apr 28, 01:56 PM
New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton allowed for the possibility the Saints would still consider a trade for New England Patriots CB Malcolm Butler or Los Angeles Rams CB Trumaine Johnson despite selecting Ohio State CB Marshon Lattimore in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft on Thursday, April 27.
|Footballguys view: You can't have too many defensive backs, that's for sure. We're not sure we see a trade coming, but there's been so much movement, Butler could end up in a trade involving picks where he's almost an afterthought.|

Saints | DeShone Kizer on New Orleans' radar? Fri Apr 28, 01:44 PM
Notre Dame QB DeShone Kizer is 'in play' for the New Orleans Saints, who hold the No. 42 selection in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft on Friday, April 28, according to ESPN's Mike Triplett.
|Footballguys view: The Saints know Drew Brees is coming to the end of his career and they need to start looking past him. Kizer has some problems (although clearly confidence isn't one of them) but a year or two behind Brees might make a huge difference for him.|
