NFL | S. Young has herniated disc in neck Fri May 1, 01:23 PM
Mike Klis, of The Denver Post, reports free-agent RB Selvin Young (Broncos) has a herniated disc in his neck that won't be healed completely until September at the earliest. He has received two opinions on the neck, one being rest for six months and the other being surgery. If he went the surgery route, he could be back by June but it would also carry a higher risk long-term. He opted against surgery.

The Denver Broncos have announced they have waived RB Selvin Young.
| Footballguys view: Selvin Young's days were numbered in Denver once Mike Shanahan was fired as head coach. He did little to impress last year in a feature role, and once again struggled to stay healthy. Selvin can pick up yardage on gadget plays, and has more quickness than one might expect. He's still young and should catch on with a team for training camp. |
