Broncos | Ty Warren tears triceps Mon Sep 10, 03:28 PM
Denver Broncos DE Ty Warren (triceps) tore his triceps in the team's Week 1 game.
Footballguys view: A big blow to the Broncos rush defense. Warren missed the 2011 season due to a torn triceps and is likely going to be out for the rest of this year too. He was playing in his first game last night since 2009 and this injury could be career threatening. |

Denver Broncos DL Ty Warren agreed to a renegotiated contract with the team Wednesday, June 6, and participated in the Broncos' organized team activity session. Broncos | Will wait and see with DT Warren Sun May 27, 03:07 PM
Jeff Legwold, from the Denver Post, reports the Broncos will take a wait and see approach with veteran DT Ty Warren. The team recently asked him to take a pay cut, but Warren refused.
Footballguys view: When workouts become mandatory then the team will decide the fate of Warren. Right now he's not been participating at OTAs, but they are considered voluntary. The team needs a run stuffer like Warren in the middle of the D-Line, but he hasn't played in a regular season game since 2009 due to injuries. |

Broncos | DT Vickerson heavier, looking to start Sun May 27, 02:10 PM
Lindsay Jones, from the Denver Post, reports Broncos DT Kevin Vickerson checked in at OTAs weighing 324 lbs, and increase of almost 50 lbs from last year. "Coming off an injury, you could get out of shape with a bad body," Vickerson said. "A lot of guys, especially D-tackles, would come back way over-heavy, sloppy, bad weight. I've had that before, and I didn't want that again."
Footballguys view: The Broncos have pass rushing DTs like rookie Derek Wolfe on the roster, but they need run stuffers at the position too. Vickerson may help anchor against the run more than some think if veteran Ty Warren is cut because he refuses to cut his salary. Justin Bannan should be the other starting DT in Jack Del Rio's defense. |

Broncos | Two no-shows at OTAs Tue May 22, 02:33 PM
Denver Broncos DT Ty Warren and LB D.J. Williams were not present at the team's organized team workouts Monday, May 21. The team is hoping Warren decides to take a pay cut, and Williams was attending his DUI case Monday.
Footballguys view: Williams DUI case was declared a mistrial and rescheduled for August 15th. The team proposed cutting Warren's non-guaranteed 2012 salary from $4MM to somewhere around $1-1.5MM. The team doesn't have all the leverage as they don't have much depth behind Warren in terms of players who can anchor versus the run. |

Broncos | Ty Warren unhappy with proposal Wed May 16, 12:12 AM
Denver Broncos DL Ty Warren (triceps) has not been participating in the team's voluntary workout program after the team proposed cutting his non-guaranteed 2012 salary from $4 million to the $1-1.5 million range.
Footballguys view: Last season the Broncos paid Warren $4MM even though he missed the entire season with a torn triceps muscle. He looked great in training camp before sustaining the injury and is their best run stuffer. They don't have much depth behind Warren in terms of players who can anchor versus the run. |

Broncos | Ty Warren could be released Mon May 14, 07:43 AM
Denver Broncos DL Ty Warren will likely be cut from the team if he doesn't accept a reduction in salary. He has not played a down for the team and was hurt all of last season. He will be a rotational player if he is kept.

Broncos | Ty Warren rejects pay cut Sun May 13, 01:51 PM
Denver Broncos DT Ty Warren will not accept a pay cut after asked by the team to take one. Warren is scheduled to make $4 million this season but the team is looking cut his salary to $1 million to $1.5 million.
Footballguys view: Interesting move by Warren here, and one that could cost him his job. He's seen as the primary run stuffer on the defensive line and could be a big part of their plans if he's healthy. However, Warren has missed each of the last two seasons due to injury. |

Broncos | Do not have to take DT in first round Mon Apr 23, 06:22 PM
Denver Broncos executive vice president of player personnel John Elway said the team does not need to take a defensive tackle in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft because they are content with the ones they have on the roster. "We don't feel as bad about our tackles as everybody else does," Elway said. "I think that we feel OK there and [DT Ty Warren] will be back coming off an injury and [DT Kevin Vickerson] is coming back and then we have some young guys in there where we feel like we'll be OK. It's not nearly the need in our minds that people think it is."
Footballguys view: Every mock draft under the sun in recent weeks has the Broncos taking a DT at 25 overall. However, the team doesn't see the position as a weakness like others do. This is why we think they could select CB Dre Kirkpatrick (Alabama), C Peter Konz (Wisconsin), or RB Lamar Miller (Miami) in the first-round. |

Broncos | Ty Warren placed on IR Sat Sep 17, 02:49 PM
The Denver Broncos have placed DT Ty Warren (triceps) on Injured Reserve, ending his 2011 season. In a corresponding move, the team signed practice squad RB Jeremiah Johnson to their active roster.
Footballguys view: A big hit for the Broncos defense here. They were hopeful that Warren would be able to return to the field later in the year. He was looking good in training camp before getting injured. The Broncos defense is weak in the middle of the defensive line and we expect teams to run on them day and night each week. |

Broncos | To be limited on defense Thu Sep 15, 04:22 PM
The Denver Broncos will be missing several defensive bodies in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. DT Marcus Thomas (shoulder), D.J. Williams (elbow) and DT Ty Warren (triceps) are locks to be inactive. DL Elvis Dumervil (shoulder) said he won't play for the first few weeks, and CB Champ Bailey (hamstring) might also be out. If Bailey can't play, CB Cassius Vaughn will likely be the starting left cornerback, with CB Jonathan Wilhite playing the slot in nickel packages. DLs Derrick Harvey, Jason Hunter and Robert Ayers will likely rotate if Dumervil can't suit up.
Footballguys view: We like A.J. Green vs Cassius Vaughn more than we do Green vs Champ Bailey. The Broncos defense will have a hard time stopping Cedric Benson and the Bengals ground game. |

Broncos | Hoping Ty Warren can return during season Wed Aug 24, 12:22 PM
The Denver Broncos will not place DT Ty Warren (triceps) on Injured Reserve at this time because they hope he will be able to play later in the season. Warren underwent surgery Tuesday, Aug. 23, to repair a torn triceps.
Footballguys view: The Broncos will likely put Warren on the Physically Unable to Perform List. This will force him to miss the first six weeks of the season, but will give them a three week window after that to determine if they're going to activate him or put him on season ending Injured Reserve. Denver needs help on the interior of their defensive line and could be scouring the waiver wire looking for players who are cut. |

Broncos | Ty Warren to undergo surgery Thu Aug 18, 10:50 AM
Denver Broncos DL Ty Warren (triceps) will undergo surgery Tuesday, Aug. 23, to repair his partially torn right triceps. For now, the team is not placing Warren on Injured Reserve. Recovery time for torn triceps is three to six months. The odds aren't good, but because Warren's injury isn't a full tear, there is hope his recovery time could be closer to three months.
Footballguys view: A big blow to the Broncos run defense here. The team is holding out hope that Warren will be able to return to the lineup sometime towards the end of the season. |

Footballguys view: A big blow to the Broncos defense here. Warren will monitor this issue in the coming weeks, but is not expected to have surgery. Denver would like to see if this injury can heal on it's own. Warren will miss part of the regular season and there's a chance he could miss all of this year. |
