Washington Redskins CB David Amerson, FS Bacarri Rambo and FS Phillip Thomas are all expected to see heavy playing time in the preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans Thursday, Aug. 8, with CB DeAngelo Hall (ankle) and FS Brandon Meriweather (knee) not expected to play. Amerson is pushing for a starting job, while Rambo has been working as the starting free safety in training camp. Thomas has also made strides lately after a slow start to camp due to a week of missed practices.

Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett said he believes a rookie will start at safety this season but does not know if it will be FS Phillip Thomas or FS Bacarri Rambo. 'I think one of them. Yeah, I really do think one of them will be on the grass. I'm not sure which one, but one of them I think is going to have to... I think they'll all help us. I think all three of them are going to help us. I just don't know to what extent yet,' Haslett said.
