Saints | Khiry Robinson working out for Saints    Mon Oct 16, 10:45 AM

Free-agent RB Khiry Robinson (Jets) is working out for the New Orleans Saints Monday, Oct. 16.

Footballguys view: The Saints picked up Robinson as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M in 2013. He spent about three years with the team before being released in 2016. The Jets picked him up but Robinson broke his leg in the final preseason game for the team. He was picked up later in the year but re-injured his leg and was put on Injured Reserve. Robinson would give the team known veteran depth after trading away Adrian Peterson (Cardinals) last week.

Jets | Khiry Robinson trying out with Gang Green    Fri May 5, 01:04 PM

Free-agent RB Khiry Robinson (Jets) is participating in minicamp with the New York Jets on a tryout basis.

Footballguys view: Robinson is back with the Jets after being released in March. He spent time with them last year in training camp, was let go, then returned for a one-game stint in December. He's broken his leg three times over the last two years, and those injuries have robbed him of chances to stick with a team. If healthy (big IF), Robinson has some power as an early-down runner.

Jets | Khiry Robinson headed to IR    Tue Dec 27, 01:48 PM

New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson (leg) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 27, after suffering his third broken leg in 13 months in Week 16.

Footballguys view: Talk about your bad breaks, Robinson just can't go without breaking his leg. Entering free agency in 2017, Robinson may not find teams lined up to sign him when he's healthy enough to return to the football field.

Jets | Khiry Robinson may see more practice reps    Sat Aug 13, 09:42 AM

New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson (leg) may be a full participant in practice this week after he was limited during practice last week.

Footballguys view: Robinson has always reminded us of former Jets RB Chris Ivory. With Ivory in Jacksonville now, Robinson could fill a role with the Jets as a quality reserve runner. He's in the mix behind starter Matt Forte and primary backup Bilal Powell. We could see a RBBC between Forte and Powell this year, so there's not a lot of value in Robinson at the moment.

Jets | Khiry Robinson to PUP    Wed Jul 27, 12:40 PM

New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson (leg) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday, July 27.

Jets | Lots of rest for Matt Forte     Thu Jul 21, 04:42 PM

New York Jets RB Matt Forte should receive plenty of rest this season with RBs Bilal Powell and Khiry Robinson also in the mix.

Footballguys view: Forte will see a lot of touches in 2016 but with Powell re-signed, he should also stay fresh throughout the season. We believe he will put up solid RB2 numbers this year.

Jets | Two Jets RBs to compete for No. 3 job    Wed Jul 20, 04:07 PM

New York Jets RBs Zac Stacy (leg) and Khiry Robinson (leg) will compete for the No. 3 running back job during training camp, but Robinson may have an edge because the team does not believe he has reached his full potential yet.

Footballguys view: Robinson is the player to highlight here. He's a swift runner who can build a head of steam, and Robinson has a nose for the end zone. With Matt Forte's struggles near paydirt, we could see Robinson become the goal-line back for the Jets.

Jets | Khiry Robinson set for goal-line role?    Tue Jul 19, 01:29 PM

New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson (leg) could be utilized as a short-yardage and goal-line back this season.

Footballguys view: Robinson has determination when he runs, and the team could save some wear and tear on starter Matt Forte. Last year with the Bears, Forte had 21 carries inside the 10-yard line but was only able to score four rushing touchdowns from inside that distance. Last year for the Saints, Robinson scored the same amount of touchdowns but on only six carries from inside the 10.

Jets | New York backs should be ready for camp    Sat Jun 4, 02:38 PM

New York Jets RBs Zac Stacy (ankle) and Khiry Robinson (leg) are both expected to be ready for training camp. Stacy suffered a broken ankle late last season, while Robinson broke his leg late in the year.

Footballguys view: The Jets went out and added Matt Forte in free agency earlier this year. He's going to be the lead back for the team, and we expect them to lean on Forte as much as possible. Bilal Powell is likely the primary backup, and that leaves Robinson and Stacy fighting for a spot in the pecking order. Both are talented, but we prefer Robinson because of his size/speed combination.

Jets | One-year deal for Khiry Robinson    Thu Mar 10, 08:05 PM

Updating a previous report, New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson's deal is one year in length and worth $1.18 million, including $80,000 guaranteed.

Footballguys view: We'll see if they strike gold like they did with Chris Ivory. Former Saints backs seem to be a thing for the Jets, but Robinson will be buried in short yardage and mop up duty behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell, thus limiting his fantasy value.

Jets | Khiry Robinson joining Jets    Thu Mar 10, 12:54 PM

Free-agent RB Khiry Robinson (Saints) is signing with the New York Jets, according to sources.

Footballguys view: The Jets really love their former Saints running backs, don't they? Robinson has skill but has struggled with injuries and will probably be well behind Matt Forte and Bilal Powell barring an injury.

Saints | Khiry Robinson set to hit open market    Fri Mar 4, 06:07 PM

New Orleans Saints impending restricted free-agent RB Khiry Robinson is not expected to receive a contract offer from the Saints, according to a source. That will allow Robinson to hit the open market after compiling 766 yards and eight touchdowns in the last three seasons.

Footballguys view: Robinson is good when healthy...but he struggles to stay healthy and that's held him back as a pro. The RB market is chock full of talent, so we can't see teams falling all over themselves for an injury prone back like Robinson.

Saints | Khiry Robinson making progress    Sun Feb 14, 10:21 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) was catching footballs while standing on one leg as part of the next step in his rehab from a broken leg he suffered last season.

Footballguys view: Robinson is a talented player, but he's hurt too often to rely on. Dynasty owners are just hoping he can stay healthy and start playing a role for the Saints as a part-time back behind Mark Ingram. If healthy, Robinson will compete with C.J. Spiller for a change-of-pace role in 2016.

Saints | Khiry Robinson jogging     Wed Feb 3, 06:32 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) has been cleared for jogging. Robinson is recovering from a broken leg he suffered late last season.

Footballguys view: Robinson is a player to remember (and potentially snare) in dynasty leagues. If healthy, Robinson can be an explosive runner and receiver out of the backfield.

Saints | Khiry Robinson out for the year    Mon Nov 2, 02:34 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) had surgery on his broken leg and will miss the remainder of the season, according to head coach Sean Payton.

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (leg) was carted off the field after suffering a leg injury during the team's Week 8 game. Robinson's leg was placed in an air cast before he was carted off.

Saints | New Orleans run game lacking    Wed Sep 23, 01:41 PM

The New Orleans Saints running game is talented with RBs Mark Ingram, C.J. Spiller and Khiry Robinson, but they currently rank in the bottom fourth of the league in rushing yards per game (79) and yards per carry (3.36).

Footballguys view: The Saints are not threatening defenses with the passing game, and defenses are jamming the box to slow down their backs. Ingram is the lead back, but he's only generated 50 yards after contact in two games.

Saints | Khiry Robinson involved    Mon Sep 14, 05:35 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson was frequently involved in the Saints' passing game in Week 1, snatching five catches for 51 yards on six targets.

Footballguys view: Robinson was frequently involved, but starting running back Mark Ingram was used more as a receiver. Ingram's play as a three-down back cuts into the fantasy value of Robinson. It will also hurt Robinson when C.J. Spiller returns as the team's change-of-pace back.

Saints | More touches for Khiry Robinson?    Tue Sep 8, 09:49 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson could see a larger than expected role in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals with RB C.J. Spiller (knee) not expected to play.

Footballguys view: Robinson is a talented back, and he could work well as a change-of-pace back for the Saints. When Spiller is healthy, he's the man to play that role. However, while Spiller is out we could see Robinson perform at a similar clip.

Saints | Khiry Robinson ready for Week 1?    Fri Aug 28, 11:42 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (undisclosed) is dealing with a minor injury that shouldn't impact his status for the regular season, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Between Mark Ingram (RB2) and CJ Spiller (RB2/RB3) there's not a lot of room for Robinson right now. He's been highly touted by people around the NFL, but hasn't put that on the field yet and we see him as no more than an RB5. He might be worth a stash on your bench if you have a deep roster.

Saints | Khiry Robinson out again    Thu Aug 27, 01:50 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (undisclosed) is out of practice Thursday, Aug. 27, with an undisclosed ailment.

Footballguys view: With Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller in town, Robinson had still managed to hang around as the No2 back on the depth chart. That said, the constant injury issues might keep him as the third wheel again this season. He has ability but that won't help from the trainer's table. We have him as an RB5 right now and would only grab him very late and for depth.

Saints | Khiry Robinson listed as primary backup    Mon Aug 10, 11:44 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson is listed as the primary backup tailback behind RB Mark Ingram, and ahead of RB C.J. Spiller, on the first depth chart heading into the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 13, against the Baltimore Ravens.

Footballguys view: It's an interesting spot for Spiller, but we want to see this play out the rest of the preseason. Spiller had been drawing rave reviews from beat writers who cover the team.

Saints | Khiry Robinson ready for opportunity    Fri Jul 3, 06:09 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson is ready to take what he can get after an arm injury cut his 2014 campaign short. 'I'm the type of person, I'm gonna get what I get and do what I do with it,' Robinson said. 'So whether it's 20 carries or one carry, I'm gonna [perform to] the best of my ability every play.' Robinson is remaining confident after the Saints spent big money to re-sign RB Mark Ingram and acquire RB C.J. Spiller.

Footballguys view: Robinson didn't look that far off of Mark Ingram in terms of talent and effectiveness at the beginning of last year, but Ingram pulled away when Robinson was out. If Ingram or oft-injured CJ Spiller miss time this year, Robinson will merit a look in fantasy leagues. Keep him on waiver wire speed dial.

Saints | Three RBs on Saints' roster    Wed Mar 4, 07:29 PM

Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Pierre Thomas' (Saints) release by the New Orleans Saints Wednesday, March 4, will save $1.735 million against the salary cap, and he carries an $830,000 'dead money' charge. Thomas would have counted $2.565 million against the salary cap this year. The Saints currently have three running backs on roster: RBs Khiry Robinson, Edwin Baker and Tim Hightower. RBs Travaris Cadet and Mark Ingram are both scheduled to be free agents.

Footballguys view: With the moves at running back, Robinson is the player that benefits the most in the Saints backfield. He needs to stay healthy, but Robinson has the natural ability to be a quality starter and a 1,000-yard rusher.

Saints | Khiry Robinson to be eased back in    Mon Dec 1, 05:51 PM

New Orleans Saints RB Khiry Robinson (forearm), who is expected to return in Week 14 against the Carolina Panthers, is expected to be eased back into the backfield, especially since RB Mark Ingram has done well in a leading role. RB Pierre Thomas also returned a week ago. Ingram rushed 23 times for 122 yards in the Week 13 win, which was his fourth 100-yard game with Robinson out. Robinson was running well before he was hurt, and his 5.2 yards per carry rank second in the league if he was eligible.

Saints | Khiry Robinson expected back in Week 14    Sun Nov 30, 07:08 PM

New Orleans RB Khiry Robinson (forearm) missed another game in Week 13 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but head coach Sean Payton said Sunday, Nov. 30, that Robinson is expected back in Week 14. His expected return means the team is not interested in free-agent RB Ray Rice (Ravens). 'We like our running back depth and...if you'll do a little research, Khiry's coming back next week,' Payton said.

Footballguys view: Mark Ingram has been a mostly steady RB2 in Robinson's absence. Carolina will be a tougher matchup than Pittsburgh, but Ingram will still have flex value at least.
