Veteran free-agent CB Quentin Jammer (Chargers) does not intend to call it quits this season even though he isn't on an active roster. Jammer has indicated he wants to play at least one more season.

Denver Broncos CB Chris X. Harris (knee) will undergo surgery on his knee when the swelling subsides, and he'll start a rehab period of six to nine months. Harris isn't expected to participate in the team's offseason programs and will likely miss at least some of training camp and preseason. CB Quentin Jammer replaced Harris in the third quarter in the team's divisional round win over the San Diego Chargers.

The Denver Broncos usually keep 10 defensive backs on their 53-man roster. The first nine spots appear to be spoken for, leaving S Omar Bolden to battle with CB Quentin Jammer for the 10th spot, if there is one. Jammer recently switched from safety to his natural cornerback spot, while Bolden moved back to safety from cornerback in the past week.

Denver Broncos CB Quentin Jammer said he would be willing to play at safety if the team asked him to because he believes he can play any defensive back position. 'I always considered myself a football player, not really put a label on myself as a corner or a safety,' Jammer said. 'This is the game of football, and I feel like I can be plugged in anywhere on the defense and play -- other than the big hosses up front. Any of the skill positions in the back end I can be plugged in and play. I wanted to come in and help this football team as much as I can.'

Updating a previous report, the Denver Broncos will convert CB Quentin Jammer to safety. He has started 157 games at cornerback in 10 NFL seasons. Jammer signed a one-year deal Wednesday, May 29, close to the veteran minimum of $940,000. He will participate in the team's organized team activities (OTAs) practice Thursday, May 30.

San Diego Chargers CB Quentin Jammer said that he was unfocused and depressed last season because he was going through a divorce. Jammer is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career in 2011. He allowed six touchdowns, broke up just eight passes and opposing quarterbacks averaged 10.5 yards per attempt against him.
