Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard (shoulder) was limited in practice Saturday, Dec. 7, and is considered questionable for the game Monday, Dec. 9, against the New York Giants.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard (shoulder) is still not cleared for contact Friday, Nov. 29.

Footballguys view: It doesn't look like Howard is going to play. His shoulder issue isn't improving so it's hard to say when he will return. Jay Ajayi and Miles Sanders will split the work in Miami, with Sanders the better play, but Ajayi still worth a flex look.

Footballguys view: We'll see if the Eagles get Howard back in there or just continue to roll with Miles Sanders and Jay Ajayi. The Eagles travel to play the hapless Dolphins on Sunday, so there's no need to rush Howard back out there this week. We'll know more about his status later in the week.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard rushed 19 times for 82 yards and a touchdown in Week 9 against the Chicago Bears, his former team.

Footballguys view: Howard is getting a head of steam behind a good offensive line and his workload isn't getting smaller even though Miles Sanders is playing well. He's a matchup RB2/Flex, although New England is looming after the Week 10 bye.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard rushed for 49 yards on 13 carries against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6.

Eagles | Jordan Howard taking control of backfield?    Mon Oct 7, 02:56 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard is trending toward getting the bulk of the carries in the backfield, according to comments made by head coach Doug Pederson.'I think as we go, Jordan has been kind of the lead back the last couple of games, for sure. ... I think moving forward it's kind of going that way. I can't sit here and say that if Miles (Sanders) has the hot hand one day that (Howard) gets more touches, but that's kind of the trend,' Pederson said.

Footballguys view: The Eagles have found a formula for victory with Howard leading the way on the ground. Now, there's going to be plenty of change-of-pace snaps/touches/targets for rookie Miles Sanders but Howard is the battering ram this team needs.

Eagles | Jordan Howard runs for 62 yards, TD    Sun Oct 6, 08:29 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard posted 62 rushing yards and a touchdown on 13 carries in Week 5 against the New York Jets.

Footballguys view: It looks like Howard will get his number called at the goal line and when the Eagles are in obvious run situations, which is probably enough to make him a weekly flex play until this trend reverses.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard ran 15 times for 87 yards and two TDs against the Green Bay Packers in Week 4. He also caught three passes for 28 yards and a touchdown.

Footballguys view: Howard asserted himself as the best fantasy option in this backfield until further notice. He was efficient and finished his runs with violence. Howard was even effective in the passing game. He'll be a flex play or bye/injury RB2 next week against the Jets.

Eagles | Jordan Howard should see more    Mon Sep 9, 09:14 AM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard should see more looks in short-yardage situations and in the red zone moving forward. The Eagles used RBs Miles Sanders and Darren Sproles there in Week 1, and it didn't end well.

Footballguys view: Howard should be used more than he was in Week 1. He averaged 7.3 yards per carry against Washington on Sunday, but Howard only got six carries. We'll see if they can start implementing the power back more to grind down an opponent.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard was included in a proposed trade for Los Angeles Chargers RB Melvin Gordon. The two teams also would have swapped mid-round picks and the Chargers would have needed to eat salary. L.A. rejected the deal.

Footballguys view: There's not much of a market for Gordon's services right now. The veteran back is now stuck in limbo with this holdout. We'll see if things pick up when injuries strike the RB position around the league.

Eagles | Jordan Howard not conceding much    Tue Aug 20, 04:32 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard has 'ran the ball quite well throughout camp,' according to NJ.com's Zack Rosenblatt, who concedes that rookie Miles Sanders will 'almost certainly' overtake Howard at some point. However, Rosenblatt expects Howard will stay play a role and be one of the team's top options when it comes to short-yardage situations and in the red zone.

Footballguys view: Howard can be the banger for the team with Sanders working more as a 'lightning' type of back. If you play in a PPR league, then Sanders has more value because of his receiving ability. Howard has a current ADP of RB37 (8.05) and Sanders is at RB28 (6.01) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Eagles | Jordan Howard to play significant role    Mon Aug 5, 04:29 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard has been the top option in short-yardage and goal-line situations during training camp and has impressed the team with his ability to catch the ball and hold up in pass protection, according to comments made by offensive coordinator Mike Groh.'(Howard has) done a really nice job both in catching the ball and in the protection. He's been all over his protection. Done a really good job with that, been sound and firm in protection allowing our quarterbacks to step up in the pocket and make the throws down the field,' Groh said of Howard.

Footballguys view: Howard is the lead back for the Eagles...for now. He's a power back who can grind down an opponent but the team has better options as pass-catching backs like rookie Miles Sanders. We'll see how this backfield splits reps in the preseason. Howard has a current ADP of RB37 (8.02) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Eagles | Jordan Howard hogging first-team reps    Mon Jul 29, 02:03 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jordan Howard is 'dominating carries with the first-team offense' so far in training camp, according to 94WIP's Eliot Shorr-Parks.

Footballguys view: Howard should be the most valuable Eagles back in the early season, but he might not get enough work to be consistently relevant unless he is a frequent goal line option - which he could be. The team is likely to bring rookie Miles Sanders along slowly, with maybe 8-10 touches a game to start the season.

Eagles | Miles Sanders expects shared workload    Tue Jul 9, 10:28 PM

Philadelphia Eagles RB Miles Sanders expects plenty of competition at his position in training camp and for the ball to 'spread out a lot' between Jordan Howard, Corey Clement, Wendell Smallwood and himself, according to comments he made during an interview Tuesday, July 9, on the NFL Network.'It's definitely going to be competitive. That's what I like about rooms like this. It was like this at Penn State. It was a very talented running back room. But I'm just used to that stuff - competing and making each other better. Nobody's really going to be the star running back, I think. I think the ball's going to be spread out a lot, and that's what I kind of like, too,' Sanders said.

Footballguys view: The rookie is on the right track here. Sanders should be the satellite back behind starter (and classic power back) Jordan Howard. The rest of the players like Clement and Smallwood in the backfield could get into the reserve mix as well. Sanders has missed time this offseason recovering from a hamstring injury. We'll see if he can impress in training camp.
