Week 11: vs Minnesota Vikings

All WR vs MIN

FBG says: Bad matchup. After weeks of flailing badly as a passer, Mitchell Trubisky strung together a near-perfect Week 10. He hit on 23 of 30 throws against the Lions for 355 yards and 3 scores, and the numbers don't quite convey how efficiently his passing game hummed along. Most of his damage came from well-timed, well-placed throws into space that Allen Robinson and Anthony Miller (a combined 255 yards) turned into massive gains. Trubisky is still developing as a downfield passer, but can at least throw his receivers open into green grass, a skill that's now fed four massive fantasy days. It's hard to trust him too much, considering he completed just 55% of his throws over the previous 3 weeks and still averages a ho-hum 256 yards per game. Still, both he and his dynamic receiving corps are definitely on an upswing. Robinson looked like his 2014 self last Sunday, powering through the open field at will, while rookie Miller flashed game-breaking speed on a pair of long catches. Tight end Trey Burton is a redzone dynamo who's caught five touchdowns on the year, and Tarik Cohen is a handful out of the backfield. The Vikings pass defense has been on fire of late, holding each of its last 4 opposing quarterbacks under 240 yards. It's true that two of them were rookies Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold, but the other two were Drew Brees and Matthew Stafford. Brees couldn't find anything downfield beyond a few Michael Thomas completions, and the Vikings took Stafford down 10 times in the process of completely erasing his arm from the Detroit gameplan. There's been some drop-off in the coverage unit this year, with top cornerback Xavier Rhodes hobbled of late and both Trae Waynes and slot man Mackensie Alexander inconsistent. Tight ends are also finding room, with 4 producing 69 yards or more and 3 of those over 90. But the pass rush is still arguably the league's best, and the return of Everson Griffen has only made this unit more dynamic and prohibitive to passing games. Centerfield stud Harrison Smith remains a danger to throw at over the middle, and all told, this cannot be fun group to throw against.
