Eagles | John Hightower headed for Week 1 role    Thu Aug 20, 06:22 PM

Philadelphia Eagles WR John Hightower looks like a receiver who can play on Day 1, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. McLane cites the difficulties the Eagles defensive backs have had containing Hightower in one-on-one drills.

Footballguys view: Hightower is a fast prospect who might body catch a few too many passes, but there is no doubt he can make plays down the field. We like the way he can vary his speed within his route to buy himself some space from tight coverage. Keep Hightower on your waiver wire speed dial in deeper leagues and certainly monitor him in dynasty formats.

Eagles | John Hightower could step up    Fri Jul 31, 09:05 PM

Philadelphia Eagles WR John Hightower may see an increased workload following WR Marquise Goodwin's decision to opt out of the 2020 season, according to Tim McManus of ESPN.com.

Footballguys view: Hightower was originally seen as a 'gadget' wide receiver when he came out of Boise State. The Eagles picked him up in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft, and now Hightower may be asked to do a bit more. He wasn't overly productive against Mountain West competition, but Hightower flashed at the Combine with his quickness and speed. We'll see if the rookie can carve out more than a gadget role in 2020.

Eagles | Six draft picks agrees to terms    Mon Jul 20, 04:30 PM

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Hightower will battle Marquise Goodwin and fellow draft pick Quez Watkins for playing time as a vertical threat in an offense that sorely needed one last year.

Eagles | John Hightower a deep threat    Fri May 29, 10:06 AM

Philadelphia Eagles fifth-round pick WR John Hightower had 12 receptions of 40 or more yards in two seasons at Boise State. He averaged 9.6 yards per carry on 16 runs last season and should be used in gadget situations with the Eagles.

Footballguys view: Hightower's game is all about speed, speed and more speed. He was a track athlete in college but excelled at football as well. Hightower does a good job of varying his speed in his routes and knows how to lull defenders to sleep then blast by them. The Eagles needed a lot of help at the WR position for 2020 and beyond. Hightower is someone in dynasty formats we are keeping an eye on.
