NFL | Multiple teams interested in Greg Hardy    Sat Jul 15, 10:27 AM

Several NFL teams have expressed interest in free-agent DE Greg Hardy (Cowboys), according to agent Drew Rosenhaus, although no deal appears imminent.

Footballguys view: Hardy was out of the league last year due to his off-field issues. There may be some interest but we don't see teams falling all over themselves to add an oft-troubled player like Hardy.

Redskins | Greg Hardy not an option for Redskins    Tue Jul 26, 03:56 PM

Free-agent DE Greg Hardy (Cowboys) is not being considered by the Washington Redskins to replace LB Junior Galette (Achilles'), according to a source. Galette is out for the season with a torn Achilles' tendon.

Footballguys view: Hardy has gotten little interest on the open market as teams don't want to deal with his off-field baggage. Washington's pass rush was negatively impacted by the loss (again) of Galette, but even they aren't desperate enough to add Hardy.

Jaguars | Jacksonville not signing Greg Hardy     Thu Jul 21, 10:16 PM

Updating a previous report, free-agent DE Greg Hardy (Cowboys) visited with and worked out for the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday, July 21, but he will not be signed at this time, according to a source.

Footballguys view: The Jaguars are the only known visit for Hardy since the Cowboys let him hit the open market. He's one of the more controversial players out there due to his behavior, and we don't think any team would add him unless they're really desperate. The Cowboys will barely be able to field a defense early this year due to injuries and suspensions, and even they have no interest in Hardy...or at least that's what reports indicate.

Jaguars | Greg Hardy visits Jaguars    Thu Jul 21, 07:25 PM

Free-agent DE Greg Hardy (Cowboys) visited the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday, July 21. The Jaguars have been considering Hardy since springtime.

Footballguys view: Hardy was not terribly effective for the Cowboys and became more of a hindrance and a headache than a help. We're not sure we'd love the fit either culturally or on the field.

Cowboys | Greg Hardy not returning    Fri Jan 29, 10:29 AM

Dallas Cowboys impending free-agent DE Greg Hardy is not expected to be re-signed by the team due to excessive partying.

Footballguys view: Should anyone be shocked by this? Hardy is already a handful because of the baggage and reputation he comes with. Excessive partying and still being a problem when the Cowboys gave him a second chance is not going to help his chances of staying with the team.

Cowboys | Greg Hardy's suspension reduced    Fri Jul 10, 02:30 PM

Dallas Cowboys DE Greg Hardy's 10-game suspension was reduced to four games Friday, July 10, after he appealed the ruling.

Footballguys view: This is a good development for the Cowboys, who will now have Hardy for 12 games. Tom Brady's four-game suspension looks especially harsh when it is equal to Hardy's for domestic violence, so that could factor into the decision about the final length of Brady's suspension.

Free-agent DE Greg Hardy (Panthers) has agreed to terms with the Dallas Cowboys Wednesday, March 18, on a one-year deal worth as much as $13.1 million.

Footballguys view: It's a strong move for the Cowboys with a potentially high price tag. Hardy may be suspended the first six games of the season, but that didn't keep the Cowboys from offering him big money. He's a fantastic pass-rusher who should make an immediate impact for Dallas--when he's eligible to play.

Seahawks | Greg Hardy to visit    Tue Mar 17, 11:46 AM

Free-agent DE Greg Hardy (Panthers) is expected to visit the Seattle Seahawks, according to a league source.

Footballguys view: Hardy would be a tremendous pass-rusher for any team that adds him....but he'd be especially dangerous if added to the already stout Seattle defense. He could be suspended the first six games of the 2015 season, and that's why the market has been cool for him so far. With the first wave of free agency done, expect that market to heat up.

Free-agent DE Greg Hardy (Panthers) is expected to visit the Dallas Cowboys Tuesday, March 17.

Footballguys view: Hardy may get suspended six games to start the 2015 season. He's supremely talented as a pass-rusher, but the market has been fairly cool for his services because of a potential suspension. We'll see that market heat up a bit now that the first wave of free agency is done.

Free-agent DE Greg Hardy (Panthers) is scaring some teams off because he's likely to be suspended for the first six games of the season for a domestic-violence incident. One general manager said Hardy 'is on our list, but pretty far down.'

Footballguys view: Talent isn't the issue with Hardy. When not suspended, he's one of the best pass-rushers in the game. Some team will eventually take a chance on him, it may just be a while.

Panthers | Greg Hardy eligible to sign    Thu Mar 5, 01:09 PM

Carolina Panthers impending free-agent DE Greg Hardy will be allowed to sign a new deal even though he's still on the commissioner's exempt list.

Footballguys view: NFL free agency starts Tuesday, March 10. However, his playing status remains in limbo, and he isn't allowed to play until he's removed from the exempt list, which might prevent teams from talking to him in free agency. The league has uncovered enough evidence in a domestic violence charge to warrant a suspension, according to a league source.

Bengals | May show interest in Greg Hardy    Sun Feb 22, 09:42 AM

Carolina Panthers impending free-agent DE Greg Hardy could receive interest from the Cincinnati Bengals during free agency.

Footballguys view: That Cincinnati just being Cincinnati. For years, they have taken chances on players through the draft and free agency that have serious character concerns. Hardy is coming off a season that he spent on the Commissioner's Exempt List after domestic violence allegations came up before the start of the 2014 season. All charges were dropped in that case as the alleged victim did not want to testify against Hardy. Now, he's looking to restart his career as one of the top pass-rushers in the game but a possible (further) suspension could keep his price tag lower.

Footballguys view: This is not over yet, even though charges were dropped against Hardy. Hardy could be suspended at least six games if he is found to be in violation of the policy.

NFL | Greg Hardy could still face discipline    Mon Feb 9, 10:50 AM

Free-agent DE Greg Hardy (Panthers) could still be subject to a suspension in 2015 after his domestic violence case was dismissed Monday, Feb. 9.

Footballguys view: Under the league's Personal Conduct Policy, a player can be suspended for making the league look bad. Hardy is not out of the woods yet. He enters free agency clear of any criminal charges, and some team out there should be willing to pay him a hefty salary despite the fact that he missed most of 2014 on the Commissioner's exempt list.
