Bills | Week 17 final stats for Bills    Sun Dec 29, 04:44 PM

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen made a cameo in Week 17 against the New York Jets, completing 3-of-5 passes for five yards before turning it over to QB Matt Barkley, who was 18-of-35 for 232 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. RB Frank Gore ran six times for 26 yards while adding three grabs for 16 yards. RB T.J. Yeldon checked in with seven runs for 18 yards and three catches for 24 yards as RB Devin Singletary rested. WR Duke Williams led the way with six receptions while adding game bests with 108 yards and 12 targets.

Footballguys view: The Bills are back in the playoffs and it feels like just being there isn't good enough. Williams has had some moments in his "rookie" season and should stick with the team next year. Yeldon has been a non-factor and didn't do anything to change that today.

Bills | Josh Allen decent in losing effort    Sat Dec 21, 08:21 PM

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen completed 13 of 26 passing for 208 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions Saturday, Dec. 21, at the New England Patriots in Week 16. He rushed seven times for 43 yards and was sacked four times.

Footballguys view: Allen had two perfect throws for touchdowns, but struggled at times and wasn't able to make a play at the end to give the Bills a chance to win. He was still better than the first matchup vs. New England and his fantasy line was acceptable if you counted on him. He might not play the entire game in Week 17 with the Bills locked into the five seed.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen went 17-for-39 for 146 yards and one touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14. He also rushed for nine yards on two carries during the game.

Footballguys view: Allen struggled against a good defense but did do enough to give his team a chance to tie or win late. Marcus Peters made an excellent pass breakup on fourth down to save the game. Allen's meager fantasy output will give us pause before recommending him against the Steelers next week.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen went 15-for-25 for 185 yards, two touchdowns and one interception against the Denver Broncos in Week 12. He also rushed for 56 yards on nine carries during the game.

Footballguys view: Allen has been fantasy gold this year. He was a strong runner early while the team was settling for field goals and came on as a passer later against a tough defense. He'll be a strong QB1 against Dallas on Thanksgiving.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen completed 22-of-41 passes for a career-high 266 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 10 against the Cleveland Browns while running for 28 yards and two scores.

Footballguys view: Allen was off on key fourth downs and not seeing open receivers at other key junctures. He had an excellent fantasy afternoon becasue he ran in two scores, but he couldn't execute often enough to get the win. He'll be a good play again next week vs. Miami.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen went 14-for-20 for 160 yards and one touchdown against the Washington Redskins in Week 9. He also rushed for 12 yards and one touchdown on eight carries during the game.

Footballguys view: Allen was efficient early and finished a drive on a fourth down sneak, but didn't really need to break a sweat in this one. He'll be a worth a look for streaming teams against the Browns next week.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen went 16-for-26 for 202 yards and two touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins in Week 7. He also rushed for 32 yards on four carries during the game.

Footballguys view: Allen didn't make any big mistakes and played his best football in the fourth quarter. It was good enough for fantasy but a little disappointing against a weak Miami defense. Next week he gets an Eagles defense that encourages opponents to pass against their weak secondary.

Bills | Week 5 hope remains for Josh Allen    Fri Oct 4, 01:31 PM

Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (concussion) could still start in Week 5 even though he was in the concussion protocol as of Friday, Oct. 4. Coach Sean McDermott said Friday that if Allen clears the protocol before Sunday's game at Tennessee, he'd be comfortable starting him.

Footballguys view: John Brown might be a better start with Allen's arm strength in the lineup and Cole Beasley might be better if Matt Barkley is in. Either way, the team would prefer Allen.

Bills | Josh Allen unlikely for Week 5?    Thu Oct 3, 02:32 PM

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (concussion) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 3, as he remains in the concussion protocol. In the opinion of beat reporter Sal Maiorana, it would make sense for the Bills to rest Allen in Week 5 with the team's bey week immediately following in Week 6.

Footballguys view: Matt Barkley would get the start, but it's not a significant downgrade in the potential for Cole Beasley in the matchup at Tennessee. John Brown's potential in the deep passing game would take a hit if Allen is out.

Bills | Josh Allen participating in practice    Thu Oct 3, 12:09 PM

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (concussion) is participating in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Oct. 3.

Footballguys view: Allen is still in the concussion protocol. It looks like he's trending towards playing in Week 5. We're expecting a defensive, low-scoring game with the Bills facing the Titans. If Allen is cleared and starts, he's more of a QB2 for Fantasy GMs in this matchup.

Bills | Josh Allen listed as limited    Wed Oct 2, 03:18 PM

Bills | Josh Allen remains in protocol    Mon Sep 30, 04:09 PM

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (concussion) is still going through the concussion protocol, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

Bills | Josh Allen in concussion protocol    Sun Sep 29, 04:06 PM

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (concussion) left the Week 4 game against the New England Patriots in the second half and is in the concussion protocol. Allen was having a disastrous day before leaving, going 13-of-28 for 153 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions with one rushing score.

Footballguys view: Allen was going for the first down on a third down scramble and left himself open for the huge hit. While he was struggling, he would have given the Bills a better chance to win than Matt Barkley did. Allen will get the Titans next week if he can clear protocol.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen went 19-for-30 for 253 yards and one touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 2. He also rushed for 21 yards and one touchdown on seven carries during the game.

Footballguys view: Allen's touchdown run was a designed run and he was safer with the football this week. He is tune with his new receivers and a solid QB1 start next week against the Bengals defense the 49ers hung 41 points on this week.

Bills | Josh Allen a threat on ground    Tue Jul 16, 12:08 PM

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen led all quarterbacks in 2018 with seven rushes of at least 25 yards.

Footballguys view: Allen had three games of 95 or more rushing yards and he scored eight times as a runner. He clearly can make plays with his legs, but in 2019 we need to see him make more plays with that big arm. His 52.8 completion percentage ranked the lowest of any regular starting quarterback in the league last year. They put better weapons around him in the passing game this year and that should help.

Bills | Josh Allen impresses in offseason    Mon Jul 1, 01:41 AM

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen enters training camp as the unquestioned starter under center. He impressed his teammates with the deep ball during organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp. Allen spent more time looking to use him arm and less time scrambling.

Footballguys view: If Allen can develop more as a passer, the offense could take a big step forward even though it may limit his weekly fantasy upside. He could support 1-2 wide receiver to fantasy relevance, although the Bills have four viable targets and the identity of those receivers could change week to week.

Bills | Josh Allen improved says Shady McCoy    Wed Jun 26, 12:21 PM

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen has improved, according to RB LeSean McCoy. 'He looks better,' McCoy said. 'I think he looks more confident. I think last year he just played off of talent. Sometimes, when quarterbacks are really talented, you overlook how smart they really are. Josh is smart.'

Footballguys view: Allen should be a better quarterback than last year, although that could lead to less running and maybe ding his weekly fantasy ceiling if the improved passing doesn't make up for it. Defenses will adjust to Allen, but he will have better receivers, and hopefully in time a better line. Allen gets the Jets and Giants to open the season, so he's a reasonable streamer to target later in your draft.

Jaguars | Josh Allen could miss minicamp    Thu Jun 6, 01:55 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars DE Josh Allen (knee) likely will miss the team's minicamp next week with a knee bruise, it was reported Thursday, June 6.

Footballguys view: The Jaguars are getting their first-round pick ready for training camp. They won't have him out there during minicamp, but a bruise should not prevent him from fully participating later in the summer.

Bills | Josh Allen gaining OC's confidence    Tue May 28, 07:16 PM

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen has been impressing offensive coordinator Brian Daboll in organized team activities (OTAs) and has even been allowed to call plays at times. 'There's been a series in there where I said, 'Hey, you got it, bro. Take it, call it. Go no-huddle and you call it on your own,'' Daboll said Tuesday, May 28.

Footballguys view: Allen fought hard as a rookie and did a lot with his legs. His athleticism was definitely noticed by opponents, but Allen needs to get better as a passer to play up to his potential. Allen's rushing ability makes him an interesting QB2 for Fantasy GMs. He's currently going off the board at QB18 (12.02) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Jaguars | Josh Allen dealing with knee contusion    Thu May 23, 12:39 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars LB Josh Allen was held out of a minicamp practice Thursday, May 23, to work on the side with the training and medical staff as he deals with a knee contusion.

Footballguys view: The Jaguars got an exciting young pass rusher when they added Allen in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft. His bend and burst ability around the edge and nose for the quarterback should make him a player to reckon with early and often. It sounds like this knee contusion is no big deal with Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone classifying Allen's injury as 'nothing major.'

Bills | No problems with elbow for Josh Allen    Wed Apr 17, 10:34 PM

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (elbow) said earlier this week that his elbow injury is in the past, and he is having 'no problems at all.'

Footballguys view: Good news for the Bills here. Allen met with physical therapists for the first couple of weeks of the offseason, but was fine and has been throwing ever since. As a rookie, Allen did a lot his damage with his legs and had ups-and-downs as a passer. With better weapons around him, Allen should be a QB2 for Fantasy GMs in 2019.
