Footballguys view: Things look grim for Williams, though there is little reason to rush him back as Arizona is out of the playoffs. Elijhaa Penny will likely start but he's not a great option for this week, even though it's a good matchup. He's no more than a desperation play. |

Cardinals | Kerwynn Williams figures to lead backfield Fri Dec 8, 11:29 AM
Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams figures to see a good workload in Week 14 against the Tennessee Titans with RB Adrian Peterson (neck) likely out.

Cardinals | Kerwynn Williams instilled as backup RB? Tue Apr 4, 12:40 AM
Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams appears to be set as the team's top backup running back behind RB David Johnson, according to head coach Bruce Arians. 'I'm fine right now,' Arians said this week at the NFL's annual meeting when asked about Arizona's running-game situation. 'I think Kerwynn has proven every time he plays he gets 100 yards,' he added. 'Everybody says he's too small. He just gets 100 yards every time he steps out there.'
Footballguys view: Williams was explosive on his late-season runs and deserves a chance to replace free agent Chris Johnson as the backup in Arizona with Andre Ellington now moved to wide receiver. He might be one of the least used backups in the league, but if the starter goes down, Williams will be a relevant player in fantasy leagues. |

Cardinals | Arizona happy with RB situation Sat Apr 1, 11:47 PM
Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said he is happy with the current depth at running back and believes RB Kerwynn Williams is a capable backup. 'I think Kerwynn has proven every time he plays he gets 100 yards,' Arians said. 'Everybody says he's too small. He just gets 100 yards every time he steps out there.'
Footballguys view: Arians is right about Williams. He's not a banger, but Williams works well in space and uses his instincts and burst to rack up chunks of yards on the ground. The Cardinals should feel more than comfortable with him as the primary backup behind David Johnson. Plus, this is an incredible draft class at running back so they should be able to add more quality depth at the end of this month. |
