Buccaneers | Battle in Tampa for roster spot    Tue Jul 12, 03:36 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WRs Kenny Bell and Donteea Dye are expected to be the main competitors for the last wide receiver position. Dye has more experience than Bell, while Bell has better return skills than Dye. WRs Evan Spencer, Bernard Reedy and Andre Davis could also be in the running.

Footballguys view: Bell missed last year (his rookie season) due to injury, but he's the better player of the two. He's a smooth athlete who can stretch the field and win at the point of the catch. Dye got onto the field last year but did little to impress. We like Bell's upside in dynasty leagues and will be monitoring him closely this year in training camp as he was a star in camp last year before getting hurt.

Buccaneers | Evan Spencer promoted    Tue Dec 22, 05:51 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Evan Spencer was signed from the practice squad to the active roster Tuesday, Dec. 22.

Footballguys view: Spencer was a sixth-round pick by Washington in the 2015 NFL draft. Coming out of Ohio State, Spencer had limited production due to the scheme of the Buckeyes offense and his role. He's a willing blocker and has the work ethic to stick in the NFL as a reserve player. Spencer would only have fantasy value in the deepest dynasty leagues.

Redskins | Robert Griffin III throwing well    Sat Aug 15, 09:21 PM

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III hit WR Rashad Ross and WR Pierre Garcon in stride on deep balls in practice Saturday, Aug. 15, and he connected with WR Evan Spencer in the red zone.

Footballguys view: We like what Griffin showed in Washington's preseason opener. He wasn't necessarily flashy, but he did show well from the pocket. His numbers (4-of-8, 36 yards) won't blow anybody away, but Garcon did drop what would have been a 61-yard touchdown on the opening drive. Griffin needs to be more consistent as the starter in what is a make-or-break season for him in Washington.

Redskins | Evan Spencer misses minicamp    Sun May 17, 08:50 PM

Washington Redskins WR Evan Spencer (hamstring) did not participate in rookie minicamp Saturday, May 16.

Footballguys view: The sixth-round pick out of Ohio State is primarily a possession receiver with limited explosiveness off the line of scrimmage or in and out of his breaks. The team will monitor him closely so they don't bring him back too soon. Spencer is a team-first guy, a hard worker and comes from a football family. His dad, Tim Spencer, is the running backs coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and his brother is an area scout for Washington.
