Falcons | Atlanta remains high on Kyle Pitts    Tue Feb 27, 01:50 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts 'fought through' his lingering knee injury in 2023 and is healthy entering the offseason, according to general manager Terry Fontenot, who told reporters he is excited about Pitts having a 'great year' in 2024.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts to be used as blocker more    Wed Feb 21, 09:18 AM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts is expected to be used as a blocker more by the new coaching staff. 'We're not oblivious (to what he brings) from a receiving standpoint, so there are a lot of things that you can do to be creative and use his skill set in the pass game,' tight ends coach Kevin Koger said. 'But with him and the way we're going to run the ball and the athleticism he does have, there are a lot of things he can do in the run game to help us out to win football games. You'll see him all over the field, not just out wide but also in the box.'

Falcons | Kyle Pitts stretched the field    Fri Jan 26, 05:15 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts' 12.6 yards per reception in 2023 ranked second among tight ends with at least 50 targets.

Footballguys view: Pitts was a losing proposition in fantasy drafts as a sixth round pick in 2023, and he'll be even cheaper in 2024. We'll see what the Falcons do about their offensive coordinator and quarterback before taking a stand on Pitts, but if he falls to the 10th round or later, he'll be tough to pass on.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts' knee an issue throughout 2023    Fri Jan 19, 01:33 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts recently acknowledged to ESPN.com's Michael Rothstein that he was happy just to make it a full season one year after sustaining damage to his medial collateral ligament and posterior cruciate ligament in 2022.

Footballguys view: Pitts is an amazing talent to be sure, but he's been a bit off in the pros. He admitted he 'never felt uncomfortable,' but that the 2023 season was largely about learning getting the knee back to where it was pre-injury and using different techniques to keep his body fresh.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts catches TD pass    Sun Dec 24, 04:40 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught three passes for 49 yards and one touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16. He was targeted four times during the game.

Footballguys view: Pitts had a long score and another catch early as it appeared he might finally post a big game for fantasy players, but he only caught one more ball the rest of the afternoon. He's not a clear start for Week 17 at Chicago.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts reaches end zone    Sun Dec 10, 05:55 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught three passes for 57 yards and one touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14. He was targeted six times during the game.

Footballguys view: Pitts finally caught a long score and gave us some reason to consider him in lineups in the fantasy playoffs. Today, the Saints tight end group caught six balls for 34 yards and a score against the Panthers defense that Pitts will face next week.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts leads team in receiving in win    Sun Dec 3, 05:08 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts posted four grabs for a team-high 51 yards on eight targets in Week 13 against the New York Jets.

Footballguys view: In another cruel twist, the only Falcons touchdown was scored by a tight end, but it wasn't Pitts. Instead, third stringer Mycole Pruitt hauled it in. The Jets remain a good matchup for opposing tight ends - waiver wire tight end Brevin Jordan gets them next, and Pitts is worth a look against the Bucs next week coming off of a game where he led the team in receptions and receiving yards.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts held in check    Sun Nov 26, 06:27 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught two passes for 22 yards against the New Orleans Saints in Week 12. He was targeted two times during the game.

Footballguys view: The Falcons are going to pass as little as possible and they have all winnable games from here on out, so Pitts is not an essential hold. He was significantly cheaper this year in drafts than he was in his first two seasons, and he was still a bust.

Atlanta Falcons WR Mack Hollins (ankle) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals. DB Dee Alford (ankle) did not practice on Friday, Nov. 10, and has also been ruled out. DT David Onyemata (ankle) was limited in practice on Friday and is listed as questionable. TE Kyle Pitts (personal) did not practice on Friday but is expected to play. S Richie Grant (neck), DB DeMarcco Hellams (hamstring) and WR Drake London (groin) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.   Falcons | Kyle Pitts good for three receptions    Sun Oct 29, 06:19 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts registered three receptions for 35 yards on five targets in Week 8 against the Tennessee Titans.

Footballguys view: Pitts didn't have any jump in production this week even though Jonnu Smith only got one target, Drake London left with a groin injury, and Taylor Heinicke got in after Desmond Ridder left for a concussion check. Maybe if London can't go next week, the Falcons will come up with a game plan to feature the 2021 #4 overall pick.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts catches TD pass    Sun Oct 15, 04:50 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught four passes for 43 yards and one touchdown against the Washington Commanders in Week 6. He was targeted six times during the game.

Footballguys view: Pitts got off to a hot start, but Jonnu Smith did more in the second half, and both were solid fantasy plays today. Pitts is trending up heading into a matchup at Tampa Bay and he could also get a boost if the Falcons ever decide to see what Taylor Heinicke can do as the pilot of this offense.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts finally has solid stat line    Sun Oct 8, 07:20 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts racked up team highs with seven receptions, 87 yards and 11 targets in Week 5 against the Houston Texans.

Footballguys view: Hopefully you didn't give up on him. Pitts should be in lineups against the Washington defense that Chicago just hung 40 points on.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts has quiet day    Sun Oct 1, 12:56 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught two passes for 21 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4. He was targeted four times during the game.

Footballguys view: It just isn't happening for Pitts even though the Falcons are putting up good overall numbers throwing to the tight end. Maybe the right time to drop him was weeks ago, but if the Falcons make a change to Taylor Heinicke at any point, Pitts fantasy stock could spike, so try to hold him if bench size allows.

Falcons | Five receptions for Kyle Pitts    Sun Sep 24, 04:25 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught five passes for 41 yards against the Detroit Lions in Week 3. He was targeted nine times during the game.

Footballguys view: Pitts at least got nine targets and had a decent game vs. a defense that had been very generous opposing tight ends so far this year. The Falcons need to use his rare gifts to perk up a morose offense. He and the rest of the Falcons will try to get back on track against the Jaguars next week.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts nearly invisible in Week 2    Sun Sep 17, 06:03 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts had just two receptions for 15 yards on five targets in Week 2 against the Green Bay Packers.

Footballguys view: Pitts drew a pass interference in the end zone, but that's little consolation for fantasy players who saw Jonnu Smith decisively outscore Pitts in fantasy leagues on a day that Drake London bounced back from his Week 1 dud. Next week vs. the Lions is a great matchup as they gave up a ton of catches and yards to Seahawks tight ends today, but if Pitts doesn't break through next week, it might be time to bench him until he goes off on our benches.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts leads team in receiving    Sun Sep 10, 05:42 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught two passes for 44 yards against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1. He was targeted three times during the game.

Footballguys view: Pitts had one big gainer, but the reality is that the Falcons don't need him to do much if they are keeping the game on their ideal script, which allows for more running and a safe, low volume passing game. Tight end is riddled by injuries right now, so Pitts is a viable TE1 against Green Bay next week, but lower your expectations.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts practices Wednesday    Wed Jul 26, 01:25 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (knee) took part in practice on Wednesday, July 26.

Footballguys view: Pitts is getting back to full speed, and he should be good to go by Week 1 of the regular season. He missed the final seven games of the 2022 season after sustaining an MCL injury. Fantasy GMs are taking Pitts off the board where he needs to be (as a top-5 fantasy tight end).

Falcons | Kyle Pitts should be ready for Week 1    Fri Jun 2, 04:31 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (knee) has not been spotted at either of the open voluntary organized team activity practices and head coach Arthur Smith has yet to discuss if Pitts will be available for training camp, but Smith told reporters Friday, June 2, that 'everybody' should be ready for Week 1 versus the Carolina Panthers.

Footballguys view: Pitts had knee surgery in November to repair a torn MCL. He's been recovering since then, but Pitts is not participating with the Falcons in OTAs. We'll see how much the team can ramp up the talented tight end during training camp.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts officially out for season    Wed Nov 30, 01:06 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (knee) had knee surgery on Tuesday, Nov. 29, and will miss the rest of the 2022 season, head coach Arthur Smith said on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Footballguys view: It's a disappointing end for the tight end's sophomore season. In his second pro season, Pitts continued to flash his elite playmaking skills from time to time. The Falcons' offense isn't great when it comes to passing the ball, but Pitts did post 28 catches for 356 yards and two touchdowns.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts will go under the knife    Thu Nov 24, 02:54 AM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (knee) will have surgery on his injured knee, head coach Arthur Smith confirmed on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Footballguys view: Pitts will soon be on the road to recovery from this knee surgery. He's got a torn MCL and is on Injured Reserve, which puts him out of action for at least the next four weeks.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts lands on injured reserve    Mon Nov 21, 04:15 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Nov. 21.

Footballguys view: Pitts has an MCL injury, and now he's going to miss at least the next four weeks. He'll likely require surgery to fix the MCL tear, and that means there is no timetable for his return.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts believed to have torn MCL    Mon Nov 21, 12:32 PM

Updating an earlier report, Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (knee) is believed to have a torn medial collateral ligament that will require surgery after an MRI Monday, Nov. 21. He'll receive a second opinion.

Footballguys view: We'll see what the second opinion is, but it looks like Pitts may have to have surgery if the MCL is torn. The Falcons are hurting when it comes to pass-catching talent, and losing a weapon like Pitts would impact an already 'meh' passing game.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts best of Atlanta receivers    Sun Nov 20, 06:32 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts posted three receptions for a team-high 43 yards on five targets in Week 11 against the Chicago Bears.

Footballguys view: Pitts also left with a knee injury that could cost him multiple weeks, or even the rest of the season. He's on the doubtful side of questionable for Week 12 at best might be mercifully droppable pending news on his injury.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts injures knee    Sun Nov 20, 03:21 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (knee) suffered a knee injury during the Week 11 game and is considered questionable to return.

Footballguys view: The team is hopeful that it isn't a serious injury. Pitts was actually having a solid game, but you shouldn't expect to have him available for next week's game against Washington.

Falcons | Eight targets for Kyle Pitts    Fri Nov 11, 01:28 AM

Falcons | Kyle Pitts to be featured more    Thu Nov 10, 10:48 AM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts is expected to see more looks, according to QB Marcus Mariota. 'Well, first and foremost, I can do a better job of giving Kyle more opportunities with the ball,' Mariota said. 'I think sometimes I've been a little too safe, a little too conservative where I'm putting the football, so giving him a chance to go get it. I think that'll help some of his target numbers.'

Footballguys view: Pitts might be playing in bad weather in tonight's game, but he still probably has more appeal in your lineup than all but 8-9 tight ends. This isn't necessarily proof that anything will actually change, but at least it aligns with our beliefs about Pitts being underutilized.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts is best of lot in Week 9    Sun Nov 6, 04:54 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts had two grabs for a team-high 27 yards in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers on seven targets.

Footballguys view: Pitts got free for what could have been a 73-yard score, so it's there for Pitts if he ever gets better quarterback play. He's still worth a look as your TE1 against the Panthers on Thursday.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts finds the end zone in Week 8    Sun Oct 30, 06:18 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts posted five receptions for a team-high 80 yards and a touchdown on nine targets in Week 8 against the Carolina Panthers. After going without a score in his first four games, Pitts has scores in two of the past three outings.

Footballguys view: Pitts got a touchdown on a play designed to get the ball to him and he got free for a long gain in his first true big play of the season. He'll be back in lineups against the Chargers next week.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts quiet in Week 7    Sun Oct 23, 04:30 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts caught three passes for nine yards against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7. He was targeted five times during the game.

Footballguys view: How many good games in a row will Pitts have to post for us to trust him? It's a rhetorical question because good games are not coming in this run heavy no matter the game script offense. Pitts is just a what-the-heck tight end play against the Panthers.

Falcons | Kyle Pitts expected to play    Sat Oct 15, 12:29 PM

Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (hamstring) is expected to play in Week 6, per source on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Footballguys view: Pitts should play against the 49ers with this hamstring injury, but it would be nice if the Falcons used him more. He missed last week's game, but Pitts won't be 100 percent healthy for this contest. Fantasy GMs are thinking about other tight ends this week, and Pitts is just a TE2 in a rough matchup against a good 49ers defense.

Falcons | Atlanta's injury report for Week 6    Fri Oct 14, 03:10 PM

Atlanta Falcons LB Mykal Walker (groin) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 6 versus the San Francisco 49ers. TE Kyle Pitts (hamstring) and LB Adetokunbo Ogundeji (shoulder) were limited in practice all week and are listed as questionable. OG Elijah Wilkinson (knee) was limited in practice for a second straight day on Friday, Oct. 14, and is also listed as questionable. P Bradley Pinion (personal) was not given a practice designation Friday but is expected to play.
