Broncos | Make roster moves to get to 53 Sat Sep 3, 02:29 PM
The Denver Broncos have waived QB Adam Weber, RBs Austin Sylvester and Jeremiah Johnson, WR Britt Davis, D'Andre Goodwin, Greg Orton and Eron Riley, TE Dan Gronkowski, OL Stanley Daniels, Adam Grant and Eric Olsen, DL Jeremy Beal, Ronnell Brown, Jeremy Jarmon and DeMario Pressley, LB Alvin Bowen, CB Brandon Bing and S Kyle McCarthy. The team also released WR David Anderson. RB Brandon Minor (undisclosed), WR Jamel Hamler (back) and CB Syd'Quan Thompson (Achilles') were placed on Injured Reserve, ending their 2011 seasons.
| Footballguys view: A few surprises here. Many thought David Anderson would make the final roster but he was outplayed in the preseason by Eron Riley. Jeremiah Johnson looked good in training camp but was inconsistent in the team's preseason games. Jarmon was involved in the Jabar Gaffney trade but didn't impress enough to make the roster. Some of these guys will be brought back on the practice squad if they clear waivers. |

Denver Broncos DB Syd'Quan Thompson (groin), DT Mitch Unrein (knee) and RB Brandon Minor (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Monday, Aug. 8.

Adam Caplan, from Fox Sports, reports the Denver Broncos have signed RBs Jeremiah Johnson and Brandon Minor; WR Eron Riley; DE Mitch Unrein; LB Dominic Douglas; and S Nick Polk to future contracts.
| Footballguys view: Both running backs are worth keeping an eye on in deep dynasty leagues. Jeremiah Johnson is a small but electric back who is tougher between the tackles than some think. He can turn any play into a big play and be used effectively as a receiver out of the backfield. Minor is an instinctive runner who gets stronger as the game goes on. He could develop into a quality backup running back. |

Brad Biggs, from the Chicago Tribune, reports undrafted free agent RB Brandon Minor's roster spot could be in jeopardy because the Bears selected BYU back Harvey Unga in the seventh-round of the supplemental draft.
| Footballguys view: Minor was once one of the top high schoolers in the nation, but his career at Michigan was marred by injuries and inconsistencies. The Bears may only carry three or four RBs on the active roster, so Minor had better impress during camp if he wants a chance to make the practice squad. |

Michigan RB Brandon Minor (shoulder) said during the NFL Scouting Combine that he has just been released to start jogging. He is hoping to work out at his Pro Day March 12, "but it's kind of doubtful." Minor suffered a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder.
