Giants | 13 players released Fri Aug 31, 01:03 PM
The New York Giants have released DT Marcus Thomas, DE Matt Broha, WR Isaiah Stanback, TE Larry Donnell, LB Jake Muasau, LB Greg Jones II, OT Matt McCants, DE Craig Marshall, WR David Douglas, WR Dan DePalma, OT Selvish Capers, RB Danny Ware and DT Dwayne Hendricks.
Footballguys view: Ware has been with the Giants for five years and both Super Bowl titles. His release makes David Wilson the primary backup/committee partner with Ahmad Bradshaw, and also means Andre Brown has possibly come back far enough from his achilles tear to be worth a roster spot. |

NFL | Greg Jones working on improving his game Sun Feb 27, 12:59 PM
Michigan State LB Greg Jones II has been working out with trainer Tom Shaw in Orlando to try and improve his game, reports Tom Kowalski, of Mlive.com. Jones said he has been working on dropping back into coverage and obtaining as many tips from NFL players there as possible. 'I've been spending time on the pass, but I'm more comfortable against the run,' Jones noted. 'What I want to work on is dropping back in the pass.' Jones opted to stay in school instead of coming out last year, and it may have been bittersweet for him. His Spartans went 11-2 and tied for the Big Ten championship, but his individual accomplishments were not as high as his previous year. He said he doesn't regret anything and he was able to become better against the pass and become a better tackler by staying in school for another year.
