Bills | Ronald Curry to be hired as QB coach    Wed Feb 7, 01:15 PM

Former New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach Ronald Curry is expected to be hired as the Buffalo Bills' passing-game coordinator and quarterbacks coach, per sources on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Footballguys view: Curry will now be in charge of getting the most out of QB Josh Allen. That's a great player to work with, but the Bills are wasting Allen's prime by falling short in the postseason. We'll see if Curry's work can keep Allen healthy and help the team get a Super Bowl championship in 2024. So long as they have Allen, the Bills will be contenders.

Broncos | Denver reaches out to Ronald Curry    Tue Feb 7, 01:03 PM

New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach Ronald Curry is expected to interview for the Denver Broncos' offensive coordinator vacancy soon, according to sources.

Footballguys view: Curry is considered a fast riser in the coaching world. A former player (seventh-round pick in the 2002 NFL draft), Curry has been coaching since 2014. He's been with the Saints since 2016, and has previous working experience with new Broncos' head coach Sean Payton.

Raiders | Curry critical of team    Tue Aug 4, 11:39 AM

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams WR Ronald Curry was critical of one of his former teams, the Oakland Raiders, particularly how he was treated by former head coach Lane Kiffin. 'I come back to camp (in 2008) and I'm fourth on the depth chart after leading the team in receptions the last couple years,' Curry said. 'So that kind of blew me (away). Just being kind of jerked in and out, in and out. It kind of bothered me mentally. I felt like I had put myself in a position to where I shouldn't have been treated like that. I usually pride myself on overcoming those situations, but for some reason I just couldn't get myself together. And here I am.'

Footballguys view: It seems like the Raiders have that effect on a lot of players.

Rams | Curry passes physical; trade official    Sat Jul 25, 02:25 PM

WR Ronald Curry passed his physical with the St. Louis Rams, which officially completed his trade to St. Louis from the Detroit Lions. The Rams sent DT Orien Harris to the Lions in exchange for him.

Footballguys view: Another solid move by the Lions in the post-Millen era. Harris gives the Lions another much needed big body for their rotation on the defensive line. This move could work out nicely for the Rams as well. Curry will compete with Keenan Burton and Laurent Robinson for the starting job opposite Donnie Avery.

Rams | Curry has lost a step    Thu Jul 23, 06:07 PM

Jim Thomas, of the St Louis Post-Dispatch, reports that one veteran NFL personnel man, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said new Ram WR Ronald Curry "has lost a step, but is still more than simply a possession receiver."

Footballguys view: Back in 2004, it looked like Curry was going to be a future stud before he tore his achilles. We're afraid that he is closer to a possession receiver than a threat to do anything more. He could sap any fantasy value Laurent Robinson and Keenan Burton might have this year, but we doubt he'll have much of his own.

Rams | Curry acquired    Wed Jul 22, 02:02 PM

Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports the St. Louis Rams have acquired WR Ronald Curry from the Detroit Lions for DT Orien Harris, according to league sources.

Footballguys view: Curry is now the old man of the St. Louis wide receiver corps. He might have marginal value in PPR leagues that start three wide receiver, since he'll likely be the slot receiver, but the fact that he couldn't catch on in Detroit is a terrible sign.

Lions | Northcutt likely to replace Curry as slot receiver, could be suspended    Tue Jul 14, 11:49 AM

Tom Kowalski, of Mlive.com, reports that new Lions acquisition WR Dennis Northcutt should replace Ronald Curry in the slot. Kowalski writes that Curry " hasn't shown much so far in the off-season workouts" and that "there are concerns that his speed has diminished." Kowalski speculates that the team would not have traded for Northcutt if they were happy with Curry. He also writes that Northcutt could be suspended for at least one game because of an incident involving his ex-girlfriend. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said "We're looking into this."

Footballguys view: We feel compelled to keep reminding you that Northcutt looked like he discovered the fountain of youth late last season. Bryant Johnson is slated to start opposite Calvin Johnson, but he had trouble staying healthy last year. Don't be surprised if Northcutt starts at some point in the season. There were 98 receptions to go around to receivers not named Calvin Johnson on the Lions last year, so there is fantasy value to be had beyond Megatron, especially in PPR leagues.
