Week 12: at Washington Redskins

All RB vs WAS

Mark and Joe say: Good matchup. Back in Week Three, the New York beat Washington 32-21. During the first clash, the Giants had 31/84/1 rushing as a team, split up among Rashad Jennings (11/32/0 rushing with 3/25/0 receiving), Andre Williams (14/29/1 rushing), and Shane Vereen (6/23/0 rushing). It was the only TD that Williams was to produce so far (63/179/1 rushing with 1/7/0 receiving through 10 games) - in fact, each of the backs above has either one rushing TD or zero rushing TDs this season, though Vereen has added three receiving (45/188/0 rushing with 36/321/3 receiving). And since Week Three, Orleans Darkwa (23/109/1 rushing) has been added to the mix with Jennings (105/403/1 rushing with 19/174/1 receiving to date) and company. This is why fantasy football owners HATE running back by committee, friends. The Washington rush D is ranked 30th in the NFL averaging 136.0 yards allowed per game, with five rushing scores handed out to date. Over the past four weeks (three games), Washington has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing rushers (25.7 per game on average). Carolina had 39/142/0 rushing vs. Washington last week; New Orleans gained 25/158/0 rushing at Washington two games ago. This is a good matchup for the Giants as a team, but their extensive committee of backs makes any one player a roll of the dice for Week 12.
