Conrad, TE Jake Powell, OT Paul Adams, OG Evan Brown, OG Malcolm Bunche, OT James O'Hagan, DE Freedom Akinmoladun, DE Jake Ceresna, DT John Jenkins, LB Joey Alfieri, LB Jake Carlock, LB Terrence Fede, LB Avery Moss, LB Josiah Tauaefa, S Tenny Adewusi, CB Terrell Sinkfield, P Johnny Townsend and LS Taybor Pepper were released Saturday, Aug. 31. The team also waived/injured LB Keion Adams (knee), S Kenny Ladler (hamstring), OT Victor Salako (shoulder), CB Henre' Toliver (ankle), WR Alex Wesley (ankle, foot), OT Chad Wheeler (back) and CB Ronald Zamort (ankle). S Kamrin Moore was also waived from the commissioner's exempt list.

New York Giants TE Scott Simonson and TE C.J. Conrad will compete for the backup spot in camp. Conrad will be given a long look after an impressive spring, while Simonson thrives as a blocker.
| Footballguys view: Simonson is a big-bodied blocker and that's about it. Conrad worked all over the field in college at Kentucky. He's got good hands and does a good job of using his frame to keep the ball away from defenders who are close. We'll monitor both, but only in super deep dynasty formats. |

NFL | C.J. Conrad cleared for workouts Tue Mar 19, 12:54 PM
Former Kentucky TE and 2019 NFL Draft prospect C.J. Conrad (heart) was cleared Monday, March 18 by cardiologists at Boston's Mass General Hospital and will be able to full participant in an NFL Pro Day on April 8. Conrad was blocked from participating in the NFL Scouting Combine due to a potential heart condition.
| Footballguys view: Conrad is seen as a third-day pick in the 2019 NFL draft. He reminds some in the scouting community of former Kentucky tight end Jacob Tamme due to his solid hands and strong route-running ability. We'll see if he can impress scouts now that he's been cleared for workouts. Conrad is not expected to test off the charts but it will be good to get numbers with the name/film. |

Kentucky TE C.J. Conrad (heart) has been told by NFL medical personnel to skip the position drills at the NFL Scouting Combine because he needs to undergo more cardiological testing. His agent said he hopes Conrad will be cleared to participate at his Pro Day.
