The Associated Press reports Chicago Bears DE Gaines Adams (ankle) and FS Al Afalava (knee) are listed as questionable for Week 16.

Footballguys view: Adams was supposed to get more work with Adewale Ogunleye out for the season, but Mark Anderson will get the lion's share of the snaps if Adams can't play on Monday night. Craig Steltz or Josh Bullocks will replace Afalava in the starting lineup if he can't go.

Bears | Adams likely to replace Ogunleye    Tue Dec 22, 08:58 PM

The Chicago Sun-Times reports Chicago Bears DE Gaines Adams will likely replace DE Adewale Ogunleye (leg) Week 16.

Bears | Believe G. Adams can produce in 2010    Fri Dec 18, 10:17 AM

Dan Pompei, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears defensive line coach Rod Marinelli said he believes DE Gaines Adams can be a productive player for the team next season and may even be in the starting lineup. Adams has recorded only two tackles since the trade, but the Bears were not expecting much from him.

Footballguys view: Adams has as much natural ability as any defensive end in the league. The Bears gave up a second-round pick for Adams, so they will probably give him a lot of chances before they give up on him. Marinelli is a great position coach, so if anyone can unlock Adams potential, we would bet on him. Adams shouldn't be on the waiver wire in any deep dynasty IDP leagues.

Buccaneers | New defensive system could help Adams    Sat May 30, 10:30 AM

Pat Yasinskas, of ESPN.com, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defensive scheme under new defensive coordinator Jim Bates should help improve the production of DE Gaines Adams this season, according to defensive line coach Todd Wash.

Footballguys view: 'We've changed some approach angles from the Tampa 2 and Coach Kiff,' Wash said. 'What we do now is really defensive-end friendly. I think it's going to allow Gaines, and all our ends, to rush the passer more and be more effective. He's not going to be hunkered down on any big defensive tackles in the tight five. He's playing real wide and he's always going to be playing pass first, which is obviously Gaines' strength.'
