Buccaneers | Morris envisions physical role for S. Jones    Wed Mar 17, 10:23 PM

Stephen Holder, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris appears to envision S Sean Jones playing a physical role with the team. Morris said, "He's a nice box presence, but he also has some athleticism on the back end and some big-time movement. You're talking about a guy who, when you see him, you'll see a demanding presence. You'll see a guy who comes in the box and you have to account for. He has all the qualities we like. We're fired up to have him."

Footballguys view: Jones has been a top fantasy safety in the past, and he should threaten Sabby Piscitelli's starting role and provide fantasy value again in the future.

Eagles | Three expected to compete for free safety spot    Mon Jul 20, 03:13 PM

Jeff McLane, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles SS Quintin Demps, FS Sean Jones and FS Rashad Baker will compete for the starting free safety job during training camp.

Footballguys view: This is a battle IDP leaguers should watch closely. Sean Jones was an IDP stud during his time at Cleveland. McLane said "Quintin Mikell is ensconced at strong safety", so it doesn't sound like we're in danger of seeing a three safety rotation that could sap the whole trio of their fantasy value.

Eagles | Demps 'in line to start at free safety'    Tue Jul 14, 10:13 AM

Dave Spadaro, of PhiladelphiaEagles.com, reports that S Quintin Demps is "is in line to start at free safety". Spadaro writes that he's interested to see "Will he play deep, like a traditional free safety? Or will the Eagles move him around a lot as they did with Brian Dawkins?"

Footballguys view: The Eagles safety situation is one of the most important for IDP fantasy players to track in training camp. Quintin Mikell was a stud last year, and free agent signing Sean Jones has been an elite IDP in the past at Cleveland. If Spadaro is right, one of them will be riding the pine, or even worse for IDP leagues, they could rotate at strong safety.
