Saints | Joe Horn to sign, retire as member of team Fri Jun 25, 12:04 PM
The New Orleans Saints will sign unrestricted free-agent WR Joe Horn (Falcons) to a one-day contract so he can retire as a member of the Saints, reports Brad Biggs, of NationalFootballPost.com.
Footballguys view: Classy move from a classy organization. Joe Horn should have a retirement press conference where he pulls a cell phone out from under the podium....you know, just for old times sake. |

Buccaneers | Team interest in Horn confirmed Fri Jul 24, 07:06 PM
Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, confirmed that WR Joe Horn "has definitely been a topic of conversation at One Buc Place". Cummings reports that "the holdup in the whole matter as it sits now is apparently Bucs GM Mark Dominik." Horn is being considered as a replace for Ike Hilliard in the slot.
Footballguys view: We're not sure how much Horn has left in the tank, but Hilliard averaged almost three catches a game in the role last year, and had three games with six catches, so there's some potential for Horn in deep PPR leagues if he gets signed by the Bucs. |

Buccaneers | Have considered Horn Fri Jul 24, 03:33 PM
Updating a previous report, Roy Cummings, of The Tampa Tribune, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had internal discussions about the possibility of signing unrestricted free-agent WR Joe Horn (Falcons).
Joe Horn player pageRavens | Bennett tryout scheduled, Horn's agent contacted before Mason retired Thu Jul 23, 01:37 PM
Jason LaCanfora, of the NFL Network, reports that the Ravens had scheduled Drew Bennett's tryout and contacted Joe Horn's agent before Derrick Mason announced his retirement. LaCanfora writes "many people in the organization have the feeling Mason will end up playing football this season."
Footballguys view: More and more evidence mounts that Mason is no sure thing to retire. The Ravens should have been concerned about their WR corps even before Mason retired because they have little experience on the roster after the starters, and they didn't address the position in this year's draft. |

Buccaneers | Have been in contact with Horn Thu Jul 23, 01:06 PM
Jason La Canfora, of the NFL Network, reports Ralph Vitolo, agent for unrestricted free-agent WR Joe Horn (Falcons), said the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been in contact with Horn.
Footballguys view: This shouldn't surprise anyone, Brian Clark has been running as the #3 in the offseason, which should tell you all you need to know about the state of Tampa WR corps (no disrespect to Clark, who is a fine player, but a journeyman). |

Titans | Have been in contact with Horn Thu Jul 23, 01:06 PM
Jason La Canfora, of the NFL Network, reports Ralph Vitolo, agent for unrestricted free-agent WR Joe Horn (Falcons), said the Tennessee Titans have been in contact with Horn.
Footballguys view: This says more about how the Titans feel about their WRs after Justin Gage and Nate Washington than Horn's future prospects in the NFL. |

Ravens | Horn on team's radar Wed Jul 22, 03:02 PM
Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports that Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome has spoken to the agent for veteran free agent WR Joe Horn, and told him that the team would contact him after Friday's tryouts. "The Ravens are one of the teams that would definitely interest Joe," said Ralph Vitolo, Horn's agent.
Footballguys view: Horn would have only marginal value if he was signed. It's hard to imagine a 37-year-old receiver who has been away from the game for a year doing much upon his return. |

49ers | Interested in Horn? Sat May 9, 07:49 AM
Kevin Lynch, of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports the San Francisco 49ers have some interest in free-agent WR Joe Horn (Falcons). According to the NFL Network, the team has a 'low level' of interest in Horn.
Footballguys view: It's surprising that any team would have even 'low level' interest in Joe Horn. The 49ers don't have tremendous depth at the WR position, it's just hard to imagine Horn making the final roster unless injuries hit. |
