San Francisco 49ers S Jaquiski Tartt (ribs) aggravated his injured ribs during the NFC Championship game but should be available for Super Bowl LIV.

49ers | Jimmy Garoppolo inspiring confidence    Sat Jan 18, 01:50 PM

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo has the confidence of former 49ers QB and Hall of Famer Steve Young. 'When they've asked him to raise up and go win it, he did it,' Young said. 'Those are hard things to do. That just doesn't happen. When you see it in the NFL and someone is able to do it, you go, once you've done it, you can do it again. You can keep doing it.'

Footballguys view: That's what great quarterbacks do...especially in big games. The 49ers are one game away from the Super Bowl and what a turnaround they've had this past season. They had a plan with head coach Kyle Shanahan and GM John Lynch and it took three years for it to come to fruition but here we are. A large part of what they've been able to do in the 2019 season comes down to Garoppolo staying healthy. We'll see if they can win and head to Miami for the Super Bowl.

Footballguys view: Mostert is a good back with an all-purpose skill set. The 49ers use a RBBC featuring guys like Mostert and Tevin Coleman. It's one of the big reasons why they've made it to the NFC Championship Game.

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (calf) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 17, and is not on the injury report for the NFC Championship game.

Footballguys view: Mostert is over the illness that limited his workload last week and the calf cramp that sidelined him in the fourth quarter last week is a nonfactor this week. He's probably the best 49ers running back play for DFS this weekend.

San Francisco 49ers RB Tevin Coleman (elbow) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 17, and is not on the injury report for the NFC Championship game.

49ers | George Kittle improving    Fri Jan 17, 11:33 AM

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (ankle) said his ankle is feeling 'fabulous' Friday, Jan. 17.

Footballguys view: Kittle was a fantasy non-factor last week because the 49ers cruised to a victory on the back of the defense and running game. He could be more important as a receiver if the Packers have more success on offense than they did in a 37-8 loss to the 49ers earlier this year.

San Francisco 49ers WR Trent Taylor (foot) underwent a fifth surgery on Jan. 2, which he hopes will be the final surgery on his ailing foot.

Footballguys view: An infection in the foot is causing all these extra problems for Taylor. He's headed into the final year of his rookie contract in 2020 in what is obviously a make-or-break season. Taylor is aiming to return for OTAs.

49ers | Jerick McKinnon contract forecast    Mon Jan 13, 09:59 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Jerick McKinnon (knee) is scheduled to count $8.55 million against the 2020 salary cap, and releasing him would save $4.55 million in '20. He has a 2021 option year at $9.2 million against that year's cap.

Footballguys view: The 49ers have plenty of other options at the running back position. McKinnon passing a physical will determine how his contract savings are factored, and $2.6 million of his $6.5 million base salary is scheduled to be guaranteed as of April 1.

49ers | San Francisco on to NFC Championship game    Sat Jan 11, 07:36 PM
