Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson has not asked the Texans for a trade at this point, according to a source.
Footballguys view: The key term in the headline is 'yet.' Watson's relationship with the Texans seems to be done and done. He has a no-trade clause in his contract which means the Texans cannot just send him to the highest bidder. We'll see if Watson requests the trade in the near future and picks his destination. |

Houston Texas QB Deshaun Watson remains unhappy with the direction of the franchise, and 'just wants out,' a source close to Watson told Sports Illustrated in an online article posted Saturday, Jan. 16.
Footballguys view: Most reports indicate that Watson's relationship with the franchise is past the point of no return. There have been some team-friendly reports saying things can get worked out but we're not so sure. Watson has a no-trade clause in his contract, meaning he gets to call his shot where he wants to go. The Dolphins is a team that some speculate Watson could have as his destination of choice. |

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson's 'displeasure with the way the organization has been run of late is indeed real, but it will not lead to his asking out,' according to 'someone familiar with his thinking' via Jerome Solomon of the Houston Chronicle.
Footballguys view: Will he or won't he? That's the biggest question around the Texans right now. Watson has a no-trade clause in his contract so it's not like the Texans can shop him. He'd have to sign off on whatever team is to trade for his services, and some have speculated that could be the Dolphins. Watson's relationship with the Texans in fractured, so the answer to 'will he or won't he' is a wait-and-see at the moment. |

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy received a request from the Houston Texans to interview for their head-coaching position on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
Footballguys view: This move might be too little, too late for the Texans. They missed the window to interview Bieniemy when the Chiefs were on bye. Now, they'd have to wait until after the Super Bowl (or when the Chiefs get eliminated) to talk to him. Franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson is upset, for many reasons but also because the Texans didn't initially interview Bieniemy. He's one of the hottest head-coaching candidates out there. |

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson received backing from new general manager Nick Caserio on Friday, Jan. 8. 'He's our quarterback,' Caserio said at his introductory news conference. 'I can't tell you how much respect and admiration have for him as a player.'
Footballguys view: Watson may not be a fan of the move to add Caserio. The team is trying to patch things up with their superstar quarterback, and of course Caserio is a fan of Watson -- because everyone should be. Watson was left in the dark on this hiring, and that's not what the team supposedly promised him. We'll see if Watson is more involved in the hiring of the next head coach. There is buzz about Watson wanting a trade but that seems more like sports radio talk than anything real right now. |

Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus declined an interview with the Houston Texans for their head coaching vacancy.

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson is reportedly 'extremely unhappy' with the Texans' front office after team owner Cal McNair suggested the quarterback would have a voice in the selection of Houston's new general manager and head coach, only to have no input on the selection of new general manager Nick Caserio. Watson has reportedly not spoken to the Texans 'in the last few days' despite the team's attempts to reach out to him.
Footballguys view: Watson is clearly not happy with the direction the team is taking. There are rumblings that Watson could ask for a trade but that seems unlikely at this point. We'll see if there's some way the two sides can come together. Watson was supposed to be involved in the process of choosing the next head coach, and he did give input on the GM decision. The Texans did not inform him about Caserio and he instead found out about the move on social media. It seems pretty reasonable for the team to keep their superstar quarterback in the loop. |

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson has pondered the possibility of requesting a trade, according to multiple sources.
Footballguys view: Watson tweeted out 'some things never change' after the Texans hired GM Nick Caserio earlier this week. He was already unhappy with coach Bill O'Brien and now it seems Watson is disgruntled with the front office too. If the Texans were to trade him away they would get a king's ransom in return. |

The Houston Texans have hired New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio as their new general manager Tuesday, Jan. 5, according to a source.
Footballguys view: It's an interesting move for the Texans. Caserio won't have much to work with in terms of draft picks and salary cap space (thanks to Bill O'Brien). He does have superstar QB Deshaun Watson, and putting the best talent around him should be priority no.1 for Caserio. |
