Cowboys | Mike Zimmer agrees to deal    Mon Feb 12, 04:02 PM

Former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has agreed to terms with the Dallas Cowboys to become their new defensive coordinator.

Footballguys view: With Dan Quinn moving on, the Cowboys needed to fill their defensive coordinator position. Zimmer has a ton of experience, and he's a respected name in coaching circles. He goes back to the Cowboys where he coached from 1994-2006. Zimmer takes over a defensive unit that has plenty of star power, so he should make them a top-10 defense.

Lamb is set to play on his fifth-year option with a cap hit of $17.9 million. Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill is the highest-paid receiver in terms of annual average salary at $30 million.

Cowboys | Dak Prescott may receive extension soon    Sun Feb 11, 01:45 PM

Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott could reach an agreement on a contract extension with the Cowboys before the start of free-agency, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Footballguys view: Prescott is expected to be one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL when the extension is done. The Cowboys are also in line to give WR CeeDee Lamb a new contract, so they're going to spend plenty of money on their offense in the near future. Right now at $40 million annually, Prescott ranks no10 in the league. We imagine his new contract could pay him $50-plus million annually.

Cowboys | Rex Ryan interviews with Dallas    Wed Feb 7, 11:25 AM

Former Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan interviewed for the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator position recently.

Footballguys view: Ryan has been out of coaching for quite some time, and he's enjoying that cushy TV life as an analyst. His time as head coach of the Bills ended in 2016, and Ryan had earned a reputation for being loud, proud, and could put together a strong defense. With Dan Quinn moving on to be the head coach of the Commanders, the Cowboys have to find another defensive coordinator.

Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is expected to keep his role if he doesn't land a head coach gig somewhere else, according to sources Thursday, Jan. 18.

Footballguys view: The Cowboys are running it back (perhaps) for ....reasons! We're surprised after their early playoff exit that Mike McCarthy kept his job as the head coach. Quinn should land a head coaching gig, and we think the Seahawks are the team that adds him to run the show. If not Seattle or anywhere else, it sounds like Quinn is going to stay in Dallas where hopefully they won't keep falling short in the biggest moments.

Footballguys view: Bryant signed with the Cowboys last November, but he failed to get activated on the 53-man roster. They did release him a couple of weeks ago, but now he should be back on a reserve/future contract. He's still big and fast, so in super crazy deep dynasty formats we'll keep an eye on him.

Cowboys | Dan Quinn schedules four HC interviews    Mon Jan 15, 02:33 PM

Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has interviews scheduled for head coach vacancies with the Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans on Wednesday, Jan. 17. He also will interview for the Washington Commanders head coach vacancy on Thursday and the Los Angeles Chargers head coach vacancy on Friday.

Footballguys view: Quinn will once again be a hot head coaching candidate. This offseason, it seems like Quinn is bound to leave and get another job as a head coach. We think the Seahawks will be his landing spot as he had success in the Northwest on their staff starting back in 2009. Like last year, when Quinn interviewed with three teams, he will explore all options.
