Seahawks | Marshawn Lynch talking with SEA    Tue May 5, 08:16 AM

Free-agent RB Marshawn Lynch (Seahawks) said his agent has been in talks with the Seattle Seahawks recently.

Footballguys view: Lynch has been doing some acting, playing the character 'Giggles' in Westworld season three on HBO, but he still might not be done playing football. Seattle added to the backfield in the draft, selecting DeeJay Dallas in the fourth round out of the University of Miami. They have Chris Carson as the starter if healthy and Rashaad Penny as a talented backup but he will begin the season on the PUP list. Perhaps Lynch will be an option for them -- again -- once we get to training camp or into the regular season.

Seahawks | Marshawn Lynch's plans unknown    Tue Feb 25, 05:07 PM

Impending free-agent RB Marshawn Lynch hasn't shared his plans for the 2020 season, according to Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Footballguys view: Lynch could retire again...and then he could come out of retirement later. Nobody knows what Lynch wants to do at this time, and anything can happen in the case of the veteran back.

Seahawks | Seattle's season ends despite late rally    Sun Jan 12, 10:11 PM

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 21-of-31 passes for 277 yards and a touchdown as the team fell behind by 18 points twice but made a late charge before falling short 28-23 in Sunday's NFC Divisional Round playoff game. Wilson led the team in rushing with 64 yards, while RB Marshawn Lynch rushed for 26 yards and two scores on 12 attempts. WR Tyler Lockett was highly efficient, turning his 10 targets into nine catches for 136 yards and a touchdown. WR DK Metcalf was held somewhat in check after setting a playoff record for most receiving yards by a rookie one week ago, finishing with four receptions for 59 yards. TE Jacob Hollister hauled in five catches for 47 yards. RB Travis Homer chipped in 27 more yards through the air to go along with his 13 rushing yards. CB Tre Flowers, LB K.J. Wright and DE Jadeveon Clowney paced Seattle with seven tackles apiece. LB Shaquem Griffin tallied one of Seattle's two sacks, while Wright and Clowney combined on the other.

Footballguys view: Wilson was once again outstanding in a playoff loss. If the Seahawks had any kind of effective running game, they might have been okay in this one. Their defense has room to improve and the Seahawks will still be in the top of the NFC picture next year.

Seahawks | More work ahead for Marshawn Lynch?    Mon Jan 6, 12:53 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch logged only 18 snaps in the NFC Wild Card game, but head coach Pete Carroll told 710 ESPN on Monday, Jan. 6, that he believes Lynch is ready to handle more of a workload now that he has two games under his belt.

Footballguys view: Lynch has to be back in a groove after a couple of games since his return. Seattle may need to lean on him as they continue their postseason run. He'll at least continue as their primary back when they get near pay dirt.

Seahawks | Seattle advances to face Green Bay    Sun Jan 5, 07:44 PM

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson completed 18-of-30 passes for 325 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the NFC Wild Card Game Sunday, Jan. 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles. He also led the team with 45 rushing yards. RB Marshawn Lynch rushed six times for just seven yards, but he had a touchdown and 25 receiving yards. WR DK Metcalf had seven grabs for a game-best 160 yards and a touchdown, while WR Tyler Lockett had four grabs for 62 yards. WR David Moore also chipped in with 57 yards on two grabs, while TE Jacob Hollister had two grabs for 16 yards on four targets. S Bradley McDougald had 11 total stops with a sack, two tackles for loss and a quarterback hit, while LB/DE Jadeveon Clowney also had five total stops, a sack, two tackles for loss and a quarterback hit.

Footballguys view: The Seahawks are built for a deep postseason run and they got their first game out of the way. Playing on the road against the Packers is going to be much more difficult. Seattle didn't run the ball well against the Eagles and QB Russell Wilson was the team's leading rusher with 45 yards. They'll need to be better on the ground if they want to take down the Packers in the Divisional Round.

Retired RB Marshawn Lynch is willing to play for the Oakland Raiders if they want to sign him, according to a source.

Raiders | Oakland would welcome Marshawn Lynch    Tue Jan 22, 01:34 PM

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch, an impending free agent this offseason, hasn't announced whether he plans on playing in 2019, but if he does, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said Tuesday, Jan. 22, that 'we'd love to have him back.'

Footballguys view: There have been reports about Lynch wanting to continue playing football. We'll know if that's coming to fruition soon enough. Lynch is not the same player he used to be and could not be counted on as the lead back if he does return -- to the Raiders or anywhere else -- in 2019.

Updating a previous report, Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch (core, groin) was put on the Reserve/Injured list more so because of a core muscle issue than his groin injury.

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch (groin) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 22.

Footballguys view: This move shows the injury was a little more severe than originally thought. Lynch may have surgery to repair the damage. He's eligible to return for the Raiders after eight weeks out of action. The Raiders are already tanking on the season, so Lynch may have played his final game with Oakland. The team moves forward with Doug Martin as their lead back and Jalen Richard should get some more work as a change-of-pace option.

Raiders | Marshawn Lynch out at least a month    Fri Oct 19, 03:08 PM

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch (groin) is expected to miss at least one month due to a groin injury after undergoing an MRI earlier in the week.

Footballguys view: Doug Martin is a limited ceiling option that is the better pickup in nonPPR leagues, but Jalen Richard could expand on a solid PPR profile fueled by poor play that puts Oakland behind in the second half. Richard is probably the better pickup in .5 PPR leagues too.

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch (groin) is expected to undergo MRI to determine the severity of the groin strain he suffered in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks.   Raiders | Concern for Marshawn Lynch     Tue Oct 16, 04:32 PM

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch (groin) could have a long-term issue with his groin ailment, according to head coach Jon Gruden.

Footballguys view: Keep an eye on this situation during the Raiders Week 7 bye. If Lynch has to miss time due to this injury then Doug Martin would step into a larger role. Jalen Richard is snaring quite a few passes as a receiver out of the backfield (31 catches, 253 yards) so far this year.

Oakland Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch rushed 13 times for 45 yards in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks in London and he added three receptions for 14 yards.

Footballguys view: Lynch is almost impossible to trust in this Raiders offense despite a strong start to the season. He'll be worth carrying through the bye, but more as depth than a dedicated RB2.

Raiders | Week 6 injury report for Oakland    Fri Oct 12, 02:07 PM

Oakland Raiders OL Kelechi Osemele (knee) and DT Frostee Rucker (neck) were limited in practice Friday, Oct. 12, and are listed as doubtful for Week 6 versus the Seattle Seahawks. C Rodney Hudson (ankle), DT Maurice Hurst (shoulder), OG Gabe Jackson (pectoral), LB Emmanuel Lamur (foot), RB Marshawn Lynch (hip) and OT Kolton Miller (knee) were all limited in practice Friday but have been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: Lynch's carries have gone up each of the last three weeks and he cracked the century mark for the first time this season with 130 rushing yards against the Browns last week. Against the Chargers, we like recommending Lynch as a RB2 for Fantasy GMs.
