Cardinals | Chase Edmonds involved in run, pass game    Sun Oct 11, 06:09 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown on three carries against the New York Jets in Week 5. He also caught five passes for 56 yards during the game.

Footballguys view: Edmonds was more dynamic than Kenyan Drake and got the vast majority of the running back passing game work again this week. He's a strong flex play and PPR RB2 in a pinch with the Cowboys and a potential shootout up next week.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds draws high praise    Wed Aug 19, 04:11 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds could be a starting running back in the NFL, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Footballguys view: Edmonds has a three-down skill set and doesn't need to come off the field. He's the backup for the Cardinals behind Kenyan Drake but a high-value handcuff for Fantasy GMs.

Cardinals | Kyler Murray works out with teammates    Mon Jun 29, 05:06 PM

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray worked out with a number of his teammates Monday, June 29. WR DeAndre Hopkins, WR Christian Kirk, RB Kenyan Drake, RB Chase Edmonds and TE Maxx Williams are among the players participating in the workout.

Footballguys view: Just like a grip of other quarterbacks around the league, Murray is taking it upon himself to lead workouts. This virtual offseason is going to have an impact on teams, but these workouts can help further build or establish chemistry between a quarterback and his weapons. Murray is a QB1 for Fantasy GMs in 2020 and it wouldn't surprise us to see him finish as a top-5 fantasy quarterback.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds made solid case for more work     Mon Jun 22, 09:49 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds averaged 5.1 yards per rushing attempt, 2.95 yards after contact and sported a 15 percent explosive run rate (per Pro Football Focus) - all team-best marks among running backs - on 60 carries in 2019. He also forced a missed tackle on 13.3 percent of his carries - good for on the team second behind Kenyan Drake's 17 percent forced missed tackle rate.

Footballguys view: Edmonds was forgotten after Kenyan Drake was acquired despite having a dominant three touchdown game before hurting his hamstring. There's no doubt that Drake will be the lead back this year, but Edmonds has high ceiling handcuff value and he is still a buy low in dynasty leagues with Drake not under contract next year.

Cardinals | Eno Benjamin unlikely to play much early    Sun Apr 26, 01:15 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Eno Benjamin is not expected to receive many offensive snaps during his rookie season since he is behind RBs Kenyan Drake and Chase Edmonds on the depth chart.

Footballguys view: We'll be monitoring Benjamin closely in dynasty formats. He's got elusiveness and some pop to his game as a runner. Benjamin can stay on the field all three downs as he's a good receiving option.

Cardinals | Arizona could add third RB for offense    Thu Apr 9, 06:52 PM

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said the third running back spot behind RB Kenyan Drake and RB Chase Edmonds may still be open following the re-signing of RB D.J. Foster. 'We think he has a good skill set,' Kingsbury said in regard to Foster, 'but that's an area we'd like to have three that you feel like we could roll through and not lose much.'

Footballguys view: The Cardinals should add another running back in the 2020 NFL draft. In the Kingsbury offense, expect them to look for a back who can catch passes and stay on the field all three downs if called upon.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds expected to play    Fri Nov 29, 07:10 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 29, and is not on the injury report for Week 13.

Footballguys view: We're not sure how large his role will be, and Kenyan Drake's value going forward will be affected either way. We expect Drake to get more work, but we could see a full-blown three-headed backfield if the coaches have any confidence in David Johnson coming out of the bye.

Cardinals | Week 13 injury report for Arizona    Fri Nov 29, 05:26 PM

RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring), WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury), OL Lamont Gaillard (thumb), LB Chandler Jones (non-injury) and DL Corey Peters (non-injury) fully practiced Friday and also no longer appear on the injury report.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds upgraded Thursday    Thu Nov 28, 05:22 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 28, after being limited Wednesday.

Footballguys view: Edmonds should be back in action this week for the Cardinals. We like him as a 'what the heck' flex in Week 13 as Edmonds could get some change-of-pace work behind Kenyan Drake in the Cardinals backfield.

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) was ruled out for Thursday, Oct. 31's game against the San Francisco 49ers, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Footballguys view: Newly acquired Kenyan Drake should get some work on Thursday night. We could also see David Johnson play even though he's a little banged up. It's a bad matchup against a tough 49ers defense no matter who plays at running back for the Cardinals.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds likely out multiple games    Mon Oct 28, 02:42 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) is expected to miss 'a few weeks' with a hamstring strain, according to a source.

Footballguys view: The hamstring injury is fairly serious, so the team is shutting him down for a bit. That's why they went out and traded for RB Kenyan Drake on Monday. Drake could be the starter for the Cardinals in Week 9 on Thursday night against the 49ers.

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) has given the team definite concern that he won't be able to play in the short week Thursday, Oct. 31, for Week 9.

Footballguys view: It's a short week against a tough 49ers defense. This is why the Cardinals made a move to add RB Kenyan Drake via trade on Monday.

Cardinals | Hamstring injury for Chase Edmonds    Sun Oct 27, 03:23 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury during the Week 8 game and is considered questionable to return.

Footballguys view: Edmonds is almost certainly out for Thursday night. Look for Zach Zenner to get the start against the stifling 49ers defense with David Johnson also ailing.

Cardinals | David Johnson made push to play Week 7    Mon Oct 21, 03:58 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (ankle) started in Week 7 in large part because he wanted 'give playing a shot,' but head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Johnson didn't feel right after a couple plays, leading to Kingsbury' decision to feature Chase Edmonds.

Footballguys view: Johnson got the first carry of the game then promptly exited the contest. Edmonds is the hottest name on the waiver wire...unless you already picked him up a couple of weeks ago. The Cardinals are working out running backs this week, so perhaps they'll shut down Johnson completely until he's fully healed.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds fills in admirably    Sun Oct 20, 04:36 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds rushed 27 times for 126 yards and three touchdowns while adding two catches for 24 yards on four targets in Week 7 against the New York Giants.

Footballguys view: Edmonds had a breakout game, with effortless scores breaking through the second and third level against the Giants run defense. He should remain involved enough in the offense to be a flex play against the Saints and fantasy relevant no matter David Johnson's health.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds catches TD    Sun Oct 13, 11:28 PM

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds ready if needed    Fri Oct 11, 09:30 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds said he is prepared for a bigger workload if RB David Johnson (back) is limited or unable to play against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6.

Footballguys view: Edmonds is a talented player who can play on all three downs. If Johnson misses the game against the Falcons, Edmonds could immediately provide Fantasy GMs with a flex play or RB2 with upside in Week 6.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds totals 86 yards, score    Sun Oct 6, 04:13 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds ran eight times for 68 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals while adding three grabs for 18 yards on four targets.

Footballguys view: Edmonds had a long touchdown and looked crisp running the ball for the second straight week. He'll be a good waiver wire add this week with a growing role and matchup against Atlanta this week.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds not forgotten    Sun Jun 23, 11:07 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds will have a 'really nice role in the offense' this season, according to head coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Footballguys view: Edmonds probably won't have fantasy relevance without a David Johnson injury, but he is a clear handcuff and his passing game skills could give him emergency play value in PPR leagues if Kingsbury uses him more than his predecessor. At the very least Edmonds will be a player we strongly recommend picking up after the bye weeks, but he could play well enough to be claimed in all the leagues he went undrafted in before that happens.

Cardinals | Chase Edmond optimistic about role    Tue Jun 18, 01:56 AM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds expressed confidence Wednesday, June 17 that he will have a regular role in the offseason despite the fact RB David Johnson will be leaned upon heavily as the bellcow back. 'Me and (Dave) are definitely pushing for (two-back looks),' Edmonds said. 'It opens up his dynamic ability and mine as well. Whether it's two-back sets or Dave in the slot, me in the slot, it doesn't really matter.'

Footballguys view: Edmonds, a fourth-round pick out of Fordham in 2018, is going to see limited snaps with Johnson being featured by the Cardinals. However, that makes him a handcuff option if you have the bench space in 2019. Edmonds can work as a runner or receiver out of the backfield, but his pass-blocking needs work.

Cardinals | Chase Edmonds carving out own role    Sat Dec 8, 10:06 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds said he sees himself taking on a role similar to that of Chicago Bears RB Tarik Cohen rather than a copy of RB David Johnson.

Footballguys view: Edmonds is an excellent receiver out of the backfield and has been compared to James White, but White doesn't have a back the caliber of Johnson to share with. He's still a dynasty stash and redraft handcuff, but his value is going to stay in a holding pattern until the Cardinals offense comes together.

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (back), DE Markus Golden (knee), OT D.J. Humphries (knee), OG Mike Iupati (shoulder), Robert Nkemdiche (foot) and OL Andre Smith (hamstring) were limited in practice Friday, Oct. 12, and are listed as questionable for Week 6 versus the Minnesota Vikings. S Budda Baker (shoulder), Tre Boston (shoulder), LB Josh Bynes (wrist), WR Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring, back), TE Jermaine Gresham (Achilles') DT Corey Peters (elbow), WR Trent Sherfield (illness) and CB Jamar Taylor (hamstring) participated fully in practice Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
