NFL | Antonio Brown's agent claims teams are still interested    Mon May 29, 11:44 AM

Free-agent WR Antonio Brown (Buccaneers) has fielded 'genuine' interest from NFL teams regarding a return to the league in 2023, according to his agent, JR Rickert.

Footballguys view: Well, we will believe it when we see it. After walking out on the Buccaneers in 2021, Brown has not landed with another team. He hasn't been the same weapon he used to be since his final season with the Steelers (2018).

Cowboys | Dallas not interested in Antonio Brown    Sat Aug 20, 02:36 PM

The Dallas Cowboys are not interested in signing free-agent WR Antonio Brown, according to owner Jerry Jones on Thursday, Aug. 18. 'We're good,' Jones said. 'We want to give these young guys a real chance to make this team.' Jones' comments come on the heels of Brown saying 'Tell Jerry Jones to call me!'

Footballguys view: If Jerry Jones can see the risk/reward balance of signing Brown isn't attractive, then no other team is going to stick their neck out for him at the risk of upsetting the team culture. Brown is probably only worth rostering in the deepest of dynasty leagues. If he is signed somewhere this season, we know he can still play, but right now the chances of that are low.

NFL | Antonio Brown sitting out 2022?    Sat May 28, 10:20 PM

Free-agent WR Antonio Brown (Buccaneers) said Saturday, May 28, that he doesn't plan to play in the NFL in 2022. 'I think I'm a great player that's done everything in the game,' Brown said. 'Nah, don't play yourself looking at me to play.'

Footballguys view: No team is going to show much interest in Brown with the way he left the Buccaneers last season. He can sit out 2022 - and even after that. Never say never, but it just seems like Brown is done playing football in the NFL.

Steelers | Antonio Brown wants to retire as a Steeler    Mon May 16, 12:41 PM

Free-agent WR Antonio Brown (Buccaneers) said he wants to retire with the Pittsburgh Steelers. 'Not play, just retire, so we clear,' Brown tweeted on Monday, May 16.

Footballguys view: It sounds like Brown is coming to grips with the fact he's not going to play in the NFL again. The last news we had on him was a couple of months ago when Brown told TMZ Sports that he will not have ankle surgery unless a team commits to signing him. Well, he's been out there on the open market with little to no interest. If the Steelers wanted, they could sign Brown - a sixth-round pick for them out of Central Michigan in the 2010 NFL draft - to a one-day deal so he could retire with the team.

NFL | Antonio Brown stalling on ankle surgery    Thu Mar 31, 10:38 AM

Free-agent WR Antonio Brown (Buccaneers) said he won't have ankle surgery until a team commits to signing him.

Footballguys view: That's an ...interesting stance for Brown to take. He ruined things with the Buccaneers by walking off the field, and we can't imagine any team wanting to sign him. Holding off on surgery before a team signs him just means no team is going to sign him. Never say never, but Brown likely played his last down of football in 2021.

Buccaneers | Antonio Brown officially let go    Fri Jan 7, 12:22 AM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Antonio Brown was released on Thursday, Jan. 6.

Footballguys view: We can only assume the delay was to clarify legal matters related to the release. Long time NFL insider Josina Anderson reports that Brown can still get a job in the NFL, but there have to be at least some teams that wouldn't consider adding him after seeing the issues he has created at his recent stops.

Footballguys view: Brown has to be done in the NFL, right? He's already enough to deal with off the field, and this outburst likely seals the deal on his playing days in the pros.
