Browns | Deshaun Watson happy with recovery    Tue Apr 16, 03:37 PM

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) told reporters he is 'throwing full speed' and intends to participate at some level during organized team activities, according to a source.

Footballguys view: The Browns are implementing a revamped offensive scheme with new coordinator Ken Dorsey, but head coach Kevin Stefnski noted that's not going to affect how they approach Watson's rehab. We'll continue to watch for more, but all of us -- the Browns and fantasy managers -- need Watson to be on point. In six games last season, he completed 61 percent of his passes for 1,115 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions. He also rushed for 142 yards with a TD.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is making good progress in his recovery and will be the Browns starting quarterback moving forward, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Footballguys view: The team also left open the possibility of Joe Flacco returning. The downfield pass offense was better with Flacco, but perhaps Watson will be better next season since he'll be more familiar with his offense and teammates.

Browns | Deshaun Watson out for season    Wed Nov 15, 09:05 AM

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder, ankle) suffered a displaced fracture in the glenoid of his right shoulder, which will require surgery. He'll be placed on the Reserve/Injured list and miss the rest of the season.

Footballguys view: Well, at least we get some clarity on Watson's shoulder. He's got a broken bone in his shoulder, and now he'll go under the knife to fix the issue. After that, Watson will be on the road to recovery. The Browns paid him, and he's been banged up or ineffective for most of his time in Cleveland. We'll see if Watson can get healthy, stay healthy, and start playing up to his contract in 2024.

Browns | Further tests for Deshaun Watson    Mon Nov 13, 02:51 PM

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (ankle) will undergo further tests after suffering an ankle injury against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10, according to sources Monday, Nov. 13.

Footballguys view: Watson was spotted in a walking boot after the Browns' Week 10 win over the Ravens. He played for about a half with this ankle injury, so he should be good to go for Week 11 against the Steelers.

Browns | Deshaun Watson tosses touchdown    Sun Nov 12, 05:03 PM

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson completed 20-of-34 passes for 213 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens, while adding eight runs for 37 yards, including a key first-down run in the game-winning drive.

Footballguys view: Watson was 6-for-20 in the first half, 14-for-14 in the second half. This is a solid result against a defense that humbled Jared Goff and Geno Smith in recent weeks. Watson wasn't a great play against the Steelers in the first matchup back in Week 2, so don't force him into the lineup next week.

Browns | Bum shoulder still ailing Deshaun Watson    Thu Nov 9, 12:18 PM

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) admitted to not being where he wants to be physically on Thursday, Nov. 9, as he tries to recover from his strained rotator cuff ahead of Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens.'Every day it's a work in progress. It's a deal that I'm going to continue to have to work and focus on each and every day to make sure that I just try to get as strong as possible and as healthy as I possibly can,' Watson said.

Footballguys view: Watson's shoulder problem has been a bit of a mystery this year. It will continue to be an issue for Watson as the season goes on. Good thing for the Browns that they have an elite-level defense who can lead the way while the offense tries to figure things out with a banged-up Watson.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) completed 19-of-30 passes for 219 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals in his return, and he added three runs for 22 yards.

Footballguys view: Watson returned to the early season form that had him post steady solid QB1 numbers before he got hurt. He'll face a surging Ravens defense next week, so he might not be an ideal play, but if you have Watson on your roster, it looks like he can contribute for fantasy leagues as long as he stays healthy.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) took all the first-team reps in the portion of practice open to the media Friday, Nov. 3.

Footballguys view: Watson is expected to start, which is good news for Amari Cooper, David Njoku, and especially Elijah Moore. Watson is a risky low ceiling QB1 play after he left his last start early, but he's a suitable QB2/Superflex in a thin week at quarterback with four teams and three good offenses on bye.

Browns | Deshaun Watson unsure for Week 9    Thu Nov 2, 11:48 AM

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) told the media he's 'not sure' if he will be able to play in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, Nov. 2.

Footballguys view: Watson has been throwing in practice, but that's just part of his recovery process. Nobody knows Watson's body better than himself, so there's really no way of knowing when he's going to be out there. Watson has been medically cleared since Week 4, but he's barely played since then. If he's out of action, PJ Walker gets the start again for the Browns.

Cleveland Browns LB Sione Takitaki (hamstring) did not practice on Friday, Oct. 20, and has been ruled out for Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. TE Harrison Bryant (hip), RB Kareem Hunt (thigh) and CB Greg Newsome (hamstring) were limited in practice for a second straight day on Friday and are listed as questionable. OG Joel Bitonio (knee), WR Amari Cooper (rest, ankle), WR Cedric Tillman (hip) and LB Anthony Walker (concussion) practiced in full on Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

Per Cabot, Watson 'looks like a go' for Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Footballguys view: Watson is a low ceiling QB1 this week against the Colts, with the defense likely dictating a game script that allows the Browns to be conservative on offense. Footballguys view: Watson could play in Week 7 if he feels like he's ready. He's been cleared for a few weeks, but the coaching staff trusts Watson knows his body and he has not felt like he's yet ready to play. That could be changing now, so stay tuned. If Watson can't go, PJ Walker will continue as the team's starter.

Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson's (shoulder) status for the Week 7 game against the Indianapolis Colts is uncertain, but the team is 'cautiously optimistic' that Watson will be able to play, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.

Footballguys view: There's so much mystery around Watson's shoulder that we'll believe he's playing when we see him taking snaps. Watson was cleared to play in Week 4 against the Ravens, but he felt his body wasn't ready for game action. Now, it's Week 7 and Watson admits his shoulder may not be 100 percent this year.
