Atlanta Falcons RB Ito Smith is the lead runner 'right now,' according to interim head coach Raheem Morris, who added Todd Gurley's role has changed in recent weeks.
Footballguys view: Gurley has not looked like himself for quite some time. The Falcons now turn the backfield over to Smith, although Gurley will get some time here and there. Smith has an opportunity to prove himself as the feature back for the Falcons over the final two games of the season. We think he's got plenty of flex appeal for Fantasy GMs in the championship rounds. |

Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley (knee) went into Week 13 against the New Orleans Saints 'comfortable' with being used as a situational runner and pass protector due to his knee injury. Interim head coach Raheem Morris also expects that Gurley will have 'a bigger role' in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Footballguys view: Gurley just doesn't look like his old self on the football field. Limiting his role certainly limits his fantasy potential, so if you shut him down we don't blame you. The Falcons will use Gurley, Ito Smith and Brian Hill in a three-headed RBBC (most likely) for the rest of the year. |

Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 4, and is listed as questionable for Week 13.
Footballguys view: Gurley is no sure thing to play and he's not a good play if he is active against the tough Saints run defense. If he can't go Ito Smith is the better desperation play than Brian Hill after Smith outplayed Hill last week. |

Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley (knee) was not seen with the team's other running backs during practice Thursday, Dec. 3. One team beat reporter, though, theorized that it could just be a rest day for Gurley.
Footballguys view: We'll see what Gurley can do on Friday. Fantasy GMs are going to the waiver wire and adding Ito Smith, especially because Brian Hill disappoints with more work. Smith got more touches than Hill last week and may have passed him on the depth chart. |

Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley rushed eight times for 26 yards in Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints and he added just one grab for three yards on two targets.
Footballguys view: The Saints run defense is a tough draw as it is, and when you add in the loss of Julio Jones, it was clear Gurley was going nowhere. He's not a clear RB2 start against Las Vegas next week unless Jones can play. |

Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley registered 19 attempts for 53 yards and a touchdown in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos while adding two receptions for two yards on two targets.
Footballguys view: Gurley got a score to keep his solid fantasy season going, but Brian Hill looked like his equal again. Gurley is only a low ceiling RB2 heading into the bye with a tough schedule left, so he's a clear sell in dynasty leagues. |

Atlanta Falcons DE Dante Fowler (hamstring) and DE Takkarist McKinley (groin) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 9 against the Denver Broncos. Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley carried the ball 18 times for 46 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Carolina Panthers.
Footballguys view: Gurley's touchdown was welcomed this week, although he was outplayed by Brian Hill and left on the sidelines for long stretches. He'll be a high floor RB2 against Denver next week, but this situation could change as the season slips away from the Falcons. |
Todd Gurley player page

Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley's 122 rush attempts rank second in the NFL, and he has logged at least 14 carries in all seven games.
Footballguys view: Gurley might not quite be the player he used to be but his usage is keeping his fantasy value high. Right now (standard-scoring) Gurley is the no.6 running back in fantasy leagues. That falls just a bit to the no.8 position in PPR leagues. Either way, Gurley is a RB1 for Fantasy GMs out there. |
Todd Gurley player page

Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley ran 23 times for 63 yards and two touchdowns in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions and he added two receptions for 19 yards on three targets.
Footballguys view: Gurley's second touchdown was costly as the Falcons lost a chance to run out the clock and try a game-winning chipshot. It was a good fantasy result for Gurley and he has earned trust in lineups heading into a good matchup at Carolina on Thursday. |

Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley rushed for 47 yards on 20 carries against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6. He also caught three passes for 20 yards during the game.
Footballguys view: Gurley had an ideal game script, but couldn't do much with it against the Vikings. The Falcons getting a win is still good for his overall outlook and he's still a solid RB2 against the Lions next week. |

Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley rushed 14 times for 80 yards and a touchdown in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears and he added one catch for two yards on two targets.
Footballguys view: Gurley was being outplayed by Brian Hill at one point but had a strong second half to put up decent RB2 numbers. He's probably just a flex play at best heading into a matchup at Green Bay with Hill showing he deserves more playing time. |
