Footballguys Staff Bio: Danny Tuccitto

Danny Tuccitto's mug

Age: 40

Birthplace: Miami, FL

Education: University of Florida (B.S. in Psychology & M.S. in Sport Psychology)

Occupation: Business Analytics

Hometown: Miami, FL

Family: Currently in existence: Parents, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and more-distant facets of genealogical arborism. Yet to exist: wife and/or kids.

Years playing fantasy football: 25

Favorite FF smack talk: Verbatim from a 2004 league message board: Will [Team X] go 4-9 this season, with all of their wins coming against Tuccitto family members?

Years writing about fantasy football: 7

Favorite FBG feature: This is probably a recency bias, but it's currently the DFS content because a) it works, and b) I'm aware of the yeoman's work being done by all involved to make it work.

Organized football experience: I wish I was a little bit taller. I could have been a baller.

Favorite NFL team: San Francisco 49ers

Favorite college team: Gators (by education & college experiences) and Hurricanes (by birthplace & inheritance); basically, anyone but the Seminoles.

Favorite fan moment: Being in attendance at the 2013 NFCCG -- on the field pre-game, in the press box in-game, and in the locker room post-game -- for the 49ers win on my 35th birthday.

Favorite player of all time: Joe Montana

NFL rule(s) I would change if I could: Everyone's an eligible receiver, and (relatedly) there are no illegal formations.

Favorite movie(s): Look at my last name. They have to be the first two Godfathers, right? Otherwise, anything Kubrick, anything Hitchcock, anything Tarantino, and most of the usual critically acclaimed 70s suspects (besides The French Connection; way over-rated). Oh, and B&W movies make me a transient narcoleptic.

Favorite musical genres/albums/artists: I'm all about songwriters. The best before my formative years were Brian Wilson, Simon/Garfunkel, Lennon/McCartney, Buckingham/Nicks, David Byrne, Sumner/Hook, Morrissey/Marr, Ian McCulloch, and Stipe/Buck/Mills. During my formative years, they were Frank Black, Stephen Malkmus, Doug Martsch, Yorke/Greenwood, Isaac Brock, and Cuomo/Sharp. Since then, they've been James Murphy, Taylor/Goddard, and Casablancas/Hammond. Also, I'm a big fan of traditional 60s ska (e.g., The Skatalites and Toots & The Maytals), as well as hip hop either from or sounding like the old school (e.g., Grand Master Flash & The Furious Five, Slick Rick, Run DMC, Gang Starr, Erik B & Rakim, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, Digable Planets, etc.).

What I read: Non-fiction > fiction. I'm a rational realist, not an imaginative fantasist, so reading is for educational purposes only.

Hobbies: Music (be it listening, playing, or dancing), poker, golf, and softball.

Favorite TV show(s): I don't often watch TV, but, when I do, I pay a subscription fee for it. Hence, it's Curb Your Enthusiasm, Twin Peaks, and Arrested Development.

Least favorite household chore: I haven't ironed in years; so boring and tedious. Dryer on low/fluff for 15 minutes is my best household friend.

Dream job: Younger me said Paraag Marathe's job. Older me says full-time DFS'er.

Quote: "To see what is in front of one's nose needs a constant struggle."

Parting thoughts: My goal going into every draft is to come out of it with every player on my "can't live without him" list. In short, shoot your shot.
