Game Recaps

2009 Week 1 vs CHI (3 / 8 / 0 rush, 4 / 1 / 8 / 0 rec)

With Brandon Jackson sidelined with an ankle injury, DeShawn Wynn becomes the direct backup to starter Ryan Grant for the Packers. Wynn only had a handful of touches but ran hard when he did have the ball, but lacks the explosive top gear and cutting ability that makes Grant a top notch starting tailback.

2009 Week 4 vs MIN (2 / 10 / 0 rush, 3 / 1 / 11 / 0 rec)

The Packers were playing from behind for most of the game, and used Ryan Grant in the passing game to keep the Vikings from Blitzing every down. Wynn had a three touches for 21 total yards. Nothing exciting.

2008 Week 6 vs SEA (0 / 0 / 0 rush, 0 / 1 / 7 / 0 rec)

DeShawn Wynn's lone target was a nice reception but was short of the first down.

2008 Week 17 vs DET (7 / 106 / 1 rush, 1 / 1 / 16 / 0 rec)

DeShawn Wynn contributed in a big way for the Green Bay run game as he opened scoring for the game with a 73 yard touchdown run in the first quarter to give the Packers a 7-0 lead. For the game, Wynn finished with seven rushes for 106 yards and added a 16 yard reception on his only target of the game.

2007 Week 1 vs PHI (1 / 8 / 0 rush, 1 / 1 / 18 / 0 rec)

Wynn saw limited action, but was part of a spectacular play with Favre which eventually led to a field goal. He caught a shovel pass while Favre was getting sacked and took it for 18 yards and a first down.

2007 Week 2 vs NYG (10 / 50 / 2 rush, 3 / 2 / 18 / 0 rec)

Spelling Jackson in the Packer backfield, Wynn accumulated 68 yards of offense and rushed for two touchdowns. His first touchdown of the game came on a second and goal play in which Wynn took the handoff from the shotgun snap and scampered in for the six yard score. Wynn's second rushing touchdown came from 38 yards out with a little over four minutes left in the game. In addition to the yards he gained on offense, Wynn also had a kick off return for 15 yards.

2007 Week 3 vs SD (2 / 9 / 0 rush, 5 / 3 / 14 / 0 rec)

After a lot of noise earlier this week about an increased role in the offense, Wynn's touches were fairly negligible. He ran just twice and caught three passes, one of them coming on a tricky underhand shovel pass early in the second quarter near the goal line. Much like his counterpart Brandon Jackson, the Packers had so much success in the passing game that there wasn't much of a need to run the football.

2007 Week 4 vs MIN (10 / 20 / 0 rush, 2 / 2 / 10 / 0 rec)

Wynn was the primary ball carries for the Packers, but the Packers lack of enthusiasm for the running game prevented him from any opportunity for a productive day. He never found much running room, evidenced by the fact that his longest carry on the day was for 3 yards. He also caught two short passes for ten yards.

2007 Week 5 vs CHI (13 / 78 / 1 rush, 2 / 1 / 13 / 0 rec)

Wynn had a solid game that was interrupted by a need to get an IV due to cramping and dehydration. Wynn had these issues in college at Florida so it's worth paying attention to going forward in case this could be a trend. He had a nice 44 yard run on the Packers' opening drive of the game that was set up by great blocking and was aided by some nice open field moves. Wynn capped that opening drive with a jumping two yard score. He led the Packers in rushing attempts, rushing yards, and added a 13 yard reception in the second half.

2007 Week 6 vs WAS (13 / 37 / 1 rush, 1 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

For the second week in a row, Wynn rushed for a touchdown. His first quarter, three yard run into the end zone was his fourth rushing score of the year and gave the Packers a 7-0 lead. Wynn only averaged 2.8 yards on 13 carries and for the first time this year, he failed to catch a pass. He dropped his only target of the game on a screen pass. Following a fourth quarter run, Wynn was shown on the sidelines holding his wrist.

2007 Week 8 vs DEN (1 / 1 / 0 rush, 0 / 0 / 0 / 0 rec)

Despite starting the game, Wynn didn't get his first rush until early on in the second quarter. Shortly after the play, it was reported that Wynn had an injured shoulder and he did not return.
