Week 12: at Philadelphia Eagles

All TE vs PHI

FBG says: Good matchup. The Seattle Seahawks' passing attack, spearheaded by MVP candidate Russell Wilson, has been one of the NFL's most efficient units this season, even in one of the league's most run-heavy offenses. Considering the supreme talent they have under-center, Seattle's offense might be too run-heavy this season, as Wilson and the Seahawks rank 23rd in the league in pass attempts per game. Regardless, Wilson's 23-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio is the best in the NFL this season, and he enters week 12 with an improved receiving corps to go along with these impressive numbers. Through the first 10 games of the season, Tyler Lockett stood out as the Seahawks' unquestioned number-one wide receiver, ranking in the top-five in the NFL in both receptions and receiving yards. Although he sustained a leg injury late in the team's Week 10 game, Lockett should be ready to go this weekend, after the team's bye week afforded him an extra week of rest. Rookie D.K. Metcalf and the newly-acquired Josh Gordon round out a bolstered Seahawks' depth chart at wide receiver. Gordon played just 37-percent of snaps for the team in his debut last time out, as he had very little time to learn the team's playbook, but his role should expand as from here on. The Seahawks' highly-efficient passing attack should continue to mow down the opposition here in Week 12 thanks, in part, to an improved receiving corps. Although Philadelphia's pass defense opened the season as one of the league's worst pass defenses, they have shown definitive improvement in recent weeks, partially due to a softer schedule. The Eagles have allowed just two passing touchdowns over their last three games, both of which by Josh Allen amidst a 16-for-34 passing day totaling 169 yards through the air. Tom Brady's 216 passing yards last weekend were the most the team had allowed since a week seven trip down to Dallas when Dak Prescott threw for 239 yards. This improvement aligns almost perfectly with Jalen Mills' return to the lineup. Mills missed the first six games of the season, but since returning, he has been playing at the highest level of his career thus far. Aside from Mills' strong 2019 performance at cornerback, the strength of Philadelphia's defense is in the trenches, where Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox lead the way with 51 and 43 quarterback pressures, respectively, this season. During a much tougher portion of their schedule early in the season, Philadelphia allowed 7 different receivers to record at least 100 receiving yards across 8 games. Week 12 will prove to be a true test for Philadelphia's recently-improved pass defense when Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks come to town in a must-win game for both teams looking to keep pace in their respective divisions.
