Recent Game Summaries
2019 Week 18 vs SEA (4 / 3 / 24 / 0 rec, 1 / 3 / 0 rush)
Ward led the Eagles' receivers with a meager 24 yards in the home loss to Seattle. Ward was sparsely involved and drawing a long defensive pass interference penalty was his greatest impact. Ward was also stuffed on an end around rushing attempt. Ward was a valiant fill-in considering the Eagles' barrage of injuries at the position in 2019, but will have an uphill climb to be a regular contributor in 2020.
2019 Week 17 vs NYG (7 / 6 / 43 / 0 rec)
Ward was lapped in impact by a host of Eagles in their impressive road win to lock up the NFC East. Ward was fifth on the team in receiving yards despite Zach Ertz missing the game with injury and Miles Sanders exiting with an ankle injury in the second quarter. Ward came wide open down the seam for his longest gain of the game, converted a third-down slant, and corralled a low grab on another occasion. Deontay Burnett notably came to life with a long reception as did Joshua Perkins to cloud Ward's potential role in the playoffs despite the Eagles' offensive injuries.
2019 Week 16 vs DAL (5 / 4 / 71 / 0 rec, 1 / 5 / 0 rush)
Ward saw only five targets as Miles Sanders and Dallas Goedert were central figures in the Eagles' passing game in the home win over Dallas. However, Ward got loose down the sideline for more than 30 yards on his most notable reception and added two valuable third-down catches, one setting up a field goal, among his contributions. All of Ward's 211 yards on the season have come over the past five games as the Eagles wide receiver corps has amassed a critical level of injuries on the season.
2019 Week 15 vs WAS (9 / 7 / 61 / 1 rec)
Ward has emerged as the de facto lead receiver for the injury-riddled Eagles depth chart in recent weeks. Ward was quiet until the fourth quarter with only a third-down conversion of note until the final minutes of the game. Ward exploded as an impact player on the Eagles' final drive especially as he adjusted on a slant throw behind him, churning down to the goal line on another reception, and finally hauling in a crossing route touchdown as Carson Wentz floated a contested pass to the corner pylon. Ward secured the pass and ultimately the win for the Eagles over Washington.
2019 Week 12 vs SEA (7 / 6 / 40 / 0 rec)
The converted college quarterback took advantage of a depleted depth chart with no DeSean Jackson, Nelson Agholor, and Alshon Jeffery to lead the position in targets and receptions against the Seahawks. Ward has not been active since Week 3 and burst out of the gates with three receptions in the first quarter alone. All of Ward's receptions were short range and with limited yards after catch opportunities. Ward figures to return to the bench once the Eagles are healthier at the position.
