Week 6: at Tennessee Titans
FBG says: Good matchup. The Ravens rushing offense has been one of the least efficient groups in football, averaging just 3.4 yards per attempt and four fumbles despite finding the end zone six times. Their longest rush of the season came last week when Alex Collins took his first carry of the game for 19 yards, making this the only offense without a rush of 20 or more yards thru Week 5. Collins saw a season-low 31 percent of snaps as Javorious Allen received more playing time for the third time this season. Despite the extra snaps, Allen has not impressed on the ground with fewer than 100 rushing yards through five games. Collins has not looked much better as he still has yet to top 70 rushing yards in a game despite double-digit rushes in his last three outings. With Allen continuing to get goal-line carries, it is tough to be optimistic about the outlook for Collins. The Ravens offensive line is a talented unit led by right guard Marshal Yanda, but after last week it looks like they need improved play from both center Matt Skura and tackle James Hurst to get back on track. The Titans gave up big yardage totals on the ground again last week, marking the fourth time opposing running backs have amassed over 100 rushing yards against them this season. While this group has yet to allow a rushing touchdown, running backs are still finding plenty of room to run with an average of 102 rushing yards per game and nearly 4.4 yards per carry against the Titans. Their bright spot continues to be Jurrell Casey, as even constant double teams can't stop him. Safety Kevin Byard has been excellent coming in against the run as well. But the rest of the Titans' defensive line leaves much to be desired, while injuries to both Kenny Vaccaro and Wesley Woodyard are not helping. The outlook for Woodyard does not look positive for this week, and with the rookie Rashaan Evans still struggling in run defense, this unit could be in for a challenge against an above average Ravens offensive line.
