A smart passer with a good vertical game as well as play-action and bootleg skills, Tagovailoa should be ready to compete by midseason. He has the surrounding talent to thrive as a fantasy producer down the stretch.

Summary

There are a lot of questions to answer about Tua Tagovailoa - his health both short and long-term, what any preseason will look like, how quickly he could learn an offense and get in sync with or without a preseason -- and that means there is a good chance Ryan Fitzpatrick holds onto the starting job for the bulk of whatever season we have in 2020. The more preseason he gets to answer those questions above, the earlier he may get a look. If that's the case, he has some intriguing upside with his ability to move the ball with his strong arm or quick feet, as well as his sharp decision-making skills. It may take time to regain his pre-injury mobility if he ever does, but if he can, he has the potential to be very dangerous. That's long-term though. Short term he is someone to have on your bench just in case, and even if he gets a shot, he is a very shaky backup fantasy quarterback choice. (May 6)
